Very Disappointed with Communication and Customer Service I am very disappointed with my experience with Atlas Marble and Granite in Springfield, NJ, particularly with the communication and customer service from the owner, Elizabeth. From the beginning, communication was extremely difficult. I was told that I would receive a three-hour delivery window 24 hours before the scheduled delivery date, which was necessary so I could properly coordinate the required plumbing work. This was important because I needed to coordinate with my plumber, who had to come before templating and again before delivery to disconnect the plumbing/sink. Despite this, I had to call four times simply to find out the delivery window, and emails and phone calls frequently went unanswered. The lack of communication continued throughout the process. At one point, when I asked about the countertop delivery, I was told that they had attempted to call me several times. However, they had been calling the wrong phone number, even though the owner, Elizabeth, had my correct number and they also had my email address. I did not feel this was an acceptable explanation for the lack of communication. The biggest issue, however, was the countertop installation. When the templator arrived, I was told that the countertop would be fabricated in two pieces, which would result in a seam directly through the middle of the sink area. This was surprising because I had previously had a one-piece marble countertop in the same second-floor kitchen, which had been successfully delivered and installed without a problem. After discussing this issue with my husband I immediately called the following day, I contacted Elizabeth to ask why the countertop could not be fabricated and delivered as one piece. After some discussion, she conferenced in the templator. He stated that he had told me it would be two pieces. I explained that my question was not whether I had been told--it was why they could not install it as one piece when the previous countertop had been delivered that way. His response was that it could be done in one piece, but it was easier for the installers if it were done in two pieces. That was extremely disappointing. As a customer, I expected the focus to be on the best solution for my kitchen, not simply what was easiest for the installation crew. Elizabeth ultimately confirmed that it could be done as one piece, but I was told I would have to pay an additional $250, plus another $149 because my home was supposedly more than 50 miles from their location and/or IKEA. I ultimately paid the additional charges to have the countertop fabricated and delivered as one piece. Ironically, when the installation crew arrived, they had no difficulty whatsoever carrying the one-piece Caesarstone countertop up to my second-floor kitchen and installing it. The installation crew itself did an excellent job, and I tipped them generously for their hard work. My disappointment is not with the installers. It is with the overall customer service, communication, and the way my concerns were handled by the office. I should not have had to make repeated phone calls to obtain basic delivery information, nor should I have had to repeatedly push for a solution that was ultimately possible. I also wish I had read the other reviews before agreeing to use Atlas Marble and Granite, as an IKEA third-party vendor. Based on my experience, I was left with the impression that IKEA customers do not receive the same level of responsiveness and courtesy that direct customers may receive. Overall, I am very disappointed with the way this project was handled. The countertop itself looks beautiful, and the installation crew did a very good job, but the lack of communication, unnecessary complications, and additional expense made the experience much more frustrating than it needed to be. Promises, Promises, Promises! Very disappointing. I first met with Melanie on June 9, 2025 who was pleasant, insightful and appeared to be customer service oriented. She directed me to visit Reliance Grantie and Marble in Kenilworth since I didn't find anything I liked in Springfield. I found a product and emailed her the details as well as my measurements. She acknowledge receiving my email but never sent me a proposal. I followed up several times only to hear it will be forthcoming. She was out for a few days and a coworker said she would send me a proposal. Never received a proposal. On July 16th I received an email from Melanie asking if I am still interested. I said yes, still waiting on a proposal. NEVER HEARD BACK. Very poor way to conduct business. Wasted close to two months of my time. Flavio came with two other guys to install my IKEA quartz countertops. They had a busy day and arrived several hours late, but he explained to me about an earlier job taking longer than expected. It was understandable. They arrived at 6:30 and finished by 8pm. I have two pieces and one with a waterfall which took longer to install. They also installed my undermount sink, I did notice that he put just two brackets on the middle left and right, probably four is needed so it's really secure. I was scared by some of the bad reviews but am satisfied with the work. He is a hard worker and can be a thankless job. I appreciate their professionalism, respect for my kitchen, and cleaning up after they finished. read more

I had a fabulous experience with this company. The entire process was professional and I had my stone installed within two weeks of fabrication. I worked with Melanie and she made me multiple designs, was available and patient. She's awesome. I got to meet the owner once on-site as well. They do a laser template and the installer we had Moe and his crew were the best! They had to make a seam in one section and you can't even see it, he curved it at the angle where the two stones meet and it just looks like part of the pattern. Super impressed with this company. I was anxious after finding out that this was my Caesarstone installer from Ikea Elizabeth after reading these horror stories but I was pleasantly surprised. Templating was efficient and easily scheduled and they arrived on time. I was informed it would likely be three weeks until installation. I will agree with reviewers in that the office staff are utterly useless and could not provide me with any useful updates along the way. A couple of days after templating I realised I had to change one section of counter measurements slightly. The office staff were difficult about changing measurements without another templating appointment but they eventually let me. Two gentlemen (maybe their names were Gustavo and Mauricio) came on time to install but the stone was not actually cut to the updated measurements. They very kindly trimmed the piece down there and then so it would fit. They were pleasant and tidy and the countertop looks really good. Took three weeks exactly from templating date. read more

This place is unbelievably poor! I purchased my counters at IKEA Paramus back in June. I called these guys as soon as I got all of kitchen parts/cabinets etc. it was Aug 8.... I left a message, I left another message, I emailed....nothing. Finally about a week of trying, I called and got a live person..Igor. I had my install of my kitchen schedule for Aug. 30-September 2. Atlas doesn't come into NYC on Fridays, so I scheduled the template for Tuesday Sept 7 right after Labor Day. At this point they told me timing is about 2-3 weeks for install After the template, a little longer than I was told at IKEA, but I am willing to give them an extra 5-7 days. They called on Friday Sept 3, late in the day to tell me they couldn't do Sept 7, I changed my schedule around and was the scheduled for Sept 9. The person who came and did the template was great. Recommended calling the following Wednesday to ge the timeline for install. I reached out on Thursday Sept 16, didn't hear back. Called again on Sept 17, left a message and got a call back. So Igor states that my quartz was in from Ceasarstone, I said great, how long for the fabricating, Igor said about 5 days....great, we are on track for Sept 27. But not so fast...their cutting machine is down and they don't know when they are going to fix it... Igor said he would call on Monday. No call, so I called. Now Igor says that they haven't received my stone?! But Friday he said they did. So now I am told that the stone hasn't arrived and the cutter is down, hmm? I tell Igor that is not what he said on Friday, he tells me my opinion of what he said is my opinion, not what he said? What? So now I am thinking of cancelling the order, if they have not received or cut anything, I should be fine, right? but I think they have my stone, they are just not being truthful about my order. So what do do? At this point, I am frustrated and paid for my counters back in June. I did call a few other counter people today, seems that it usually takes about 2-3 days for the stone after templating, then about 3-5 days to fabricate and then install.....my kitchen cabinets have been in for 18 days....I guess IKEA doesn't care about their reputation in the counter department. Too bad because everything else from them has been stellar. Maybe next week I will come back and have beautiful counters installed by Atlas....but I may not. I wanted to write a review since I was nervous after reading all of the negative comments here. I had my countertops installed a couple of weeks ago by Atlas. They appear to be the countertop vendor for IKEA Elizabeth, where we purchased our kitchen. It was an overall good experience. The man who did the template and the guy that managed the install were both friendly and professional. Both spoke English, contrary to reviews here. In addition, my undermount sink was installed with clips (not just silicone), contrary to reviews I've read here. I only have two complaints: 1. Although templating was scheduled super quickly, install took longer than I think it should. Atlas said minimum 3 weeks after templating. Mine was 4 weeks. Most people online said it usually takes 2 weeks with other vendors. Might be a trade-off of the discounted countertop pricing (through IKEA). 2. I think Atlas lost my sink strainer. It's possible another contractor at my house misplaced it, but I doubt it since I've been pretty observant of the construction. Not a huge cost to get a new strainer but more just an annoyance. Overall, I'm happy and the countertops look great! read more

My installation was supposed have taken place on Monday, February 22,2016 but was called on Thursday for a Friday install. I thought this was great since I had been waiting two weeks already. The installation was for 1-5pm but I got a call from the installer that they would be there by 10:30am, another plus. When the three gentlemen got to my house they seemed very professional and took great care with my stone as they entered. One of the pieces were hitting a piece of the framing to my patio door but the installer was nice enough to carefully cut the stone to match the frame. As other reviewers stated, there was a lack of communication because they were Spanish language dominant but we both were able to get our point across. The installation was fast, professional, and great. They also cleaned the counters afterwards. Whatever the owner said he was going to do to revamp prior issues seems as if has already begun. Great job, just don't slack up and lose what you've earned with this review. read more

The owner and entire staff pay such great attention to detail because they truly care about customer satisfaction. Many of the less than stellar reviews this company received via Yelp are from clients who obviously had unacceptable experiences with their transactions that were facilitated through IKEA. What I have learned from being in the construction industry for almost twenty years - is that going directly to the manufacturer is so much better than hiring the services of a third party such as an IKEA, Lowes or Home Depot Type of store. read more

Absolutely unacceptable work and very rude/pushy installers. I was unable to be home for the installation of my countertop and had someone come to be there for the install. Thus I made it clear that I could not do any early morning appointments. I was given a time slot from 11-2 which was fine. Late the evening before I get a call from the installer trying to pressure me into letting him arrive earlier, which I could not do. Then at 7am the next morning I was awoken by the same installer again pushing me to let him come earlier, to which I again said no. They arrived around 11:40am and completely rushed through the job. They asked the person there if she spoke Polish and when she replied that she didn't they said "Good" and stopped speaking English. There was no receipt or paperwork left at the end of the install. I came home to find the installation hardware and instructions for my undermount sink, plastic unopened. I look under my sink to see that it has been installed with some glue and scraps of some random material. In addition they cut the plywood countertop support (that was previously measured and cut to the correct size) so that it's only 1/2" wide...which can't support much of anything. This is completely unacceptable. My plumber took one look at the install photos (some posted here) and said he wouldn't hook up the plumbing because it's a heavy granite sink to begin with and as soon as it's filled with dishes and water could detach from the counter at any time. The only nice thing I can say is that the man (I think his name is Jose) who came out to template was very thorough patient and took the time to answer my questions over the phone. read more

Absolutely one of the worst businesses I have EVER dealt with. They are arrogant, unfriendly, and hasty in their work. It seems like only thing they have is the contract they have with Ikea - which probably keeps steady flow of customers coming their way regardless of their crummy service. We were getting our kitchen renovated and got all our cabinets from Ikea. And in the process, we decided to go with Ikea as well for the countertops, believing we would get the same service and accountability we get with Ikea. So we make all the payments up front and then find out we're left to deal with Atlas Marble & Granite. Apparently, Ikea in Paramus, NJ and Elizabeth, NJ contracts out their countertop business to this place. After doing their follow-up (someone from Ikea comes in 1st to do initial measurements then another person from Atlas comes in for their own measurements - this man btw, did not bother looking at different options of how the countertop would be brought in to the apartment and measurements were done in very hasty manner) visit to measure countertop size, we get an upcharge bill: (1) $100 to make a copy of their certificate of insurance and send to us (most places provide this service for FREE) (2) extra man power was supposedly needed for the size required for our kitchen. The irony of 2nd upcharge was that they insisted one of the larger piece of countertop has to be brought in 2 pieces and glued together because that size, as they claimed, would not fit in the freight elevator in our building. We proved to them, by send them the blue print (acquired from our management office) of our freight elevator that shows that the size of our elevator is big enough. But they continued to insist it has to be cut in 2 pieces. This stubborn insistence still played out when a representative from Ikea contacted them. They refused to answer our calls, and when they did, they were just flat our rude and nasty. When we wanted to cancel our order, we were charged over $200 for them having come in for measurements previously. Which by the way we learned were NOT even correct measurements. Read the reviews in Yelp about this place. Most of the negative comments are from Ikea customers, which shows me they completely take for granted the customers they get through Ikea for granted and have no problem jerking them around. We ended up going with a place called Bergen Countertops. They brought the countertop in 1 piece without any issues. It fit fine inside our elevator. Without $100 upcharge to send us certificate of insurance and overall price was over $500 cheaper than Atlas. Atlas gave me the most terrible buying experience ever!!! I had kitchen countertops and a kitchen island installed recently by Atlas and the end result is not what I have expected. Everything would be fine for the most part. It was an easy and quick process with a good response time. Problem is in a material used. I ordered MSI Stellar White quartz. It seem to be a really good choice for high gloss white cabinets and a walnut island. Beautiful white quartz. But the quartz they installed in my kitchen is definitely NOT white but sandy, beige color. I did not catch it at first, because my cabinets were covered with a blue protective foil and next to the walnut island it looked ok. I have contacted Atlas next day and was told that MSI Stellar White is "a contender in a pool of bright whites but shades of white vary immensely". I knew what I saw at Atlas's showroom. So, I have ordered a sample of Stellar White directly from MSI and not to my surprise IT IS white and the quartz installed in my kitchen is totally different shade. I have contacted Atlas again, send pictures of the sample next to my counter tops with visible color difference, asked for replacement and was told that "the shade is well within tolerance" and "there is not much more they can do". For that reason I would not recommend Atlas or MSI quartz, since white is beige for them. read more

I had stellar service with Atlas ! I ordered my countertops from Ikea and they came to template and install - entire process was smooth and speedy. I then called them to purchase a backsplash and 2 saddles. Worked with Melanie whom is a true joy - super responsive, knows her company and product very well and great project mgmt. There was an issue with the backsplash that was not Atlas' fault, however how they handled the issue truly shows what a great company they are. Melanie sourced another piece of stone, and they worked with me to pass my home inspections, set up another install date, sent me the same installers as the countertop install which helped the backsplash install go even faster, since they knew the layout of my kitchen and house already. Special props to installer MOE, he is the best, he is fast, tidy and leaves invisible seams. Perfect ! and will work with them again. read more

Just completed our third stone project with Atlas. The first two were full kitchens and dealing with Elizabeth and the installers was pleasant, easy and smooth. This time we are finishing a master bath and were forced to deal with Natalie - two times. Both occasions were very unpleasant and we had to forcefully and repeatedly insist that she follow through on the details (edges and polishing) of our order - so uncomfortable. Our stone order was eventually completed correctly and it will be beautiful. Elizabeth and the "guys in the back" remain honest and helpful with great attitudes. read more

Unfortunately IKEA contracted with this company for kitchen counter installation - otherwise Don't use them! Lucia in Sales Dept promises to call by a certain date to schedule installation - she doesn't call. When you do finally get a 'no later than date' - don't believe it - it doesn't happen. When installation finally does take place ... the installers do not speak English well at all - they are very difficult to communicate with. They do a very quick install, they don't bother to make sure everything is level - my counters are not - and they don't tell you anything about drying time, etc. They were in and out within 45 minutes. Unfortunately the poor reviews confirm my bad feelings right now. I did not choose this company. I was given them through Ikea and am regretting this especially after reading the reviews. The countertop was measured and I was told 7-10 days. They delivered it today, 18 days later. They also had the wrong color written down not once but twice. I was assured this would be fine.. that was but I did not get the edging I asked for. The woman in the office was incredibly rude.. sure it's not her money that was paid up front.. they left with the countertop and told me to deal with Ikea directly. I am without a kitchen now 4 weeks.. and still have no counterttop. Shame on them!! I asked for a rounded edge.. they told me this is called an eased edge.. I don't care what it is called.. I am writing to say that I am totally dissapointed in your company. From the beginning all we had was issues from the template appointment, to getting an install date and last but not least the way my piece of Quartz was made. Thankfully enough the installers went above and beyond to make me happy something that wasn't there job. Improper measurement of the sink cut out which should have not happened as the template measurer took the sink with him back to your shop. They made a sink hole for an under mount when my sink was a drop in. Thankfully the installer took his time to make my sink hole a square from what was made rounded. Again I am so dissapointed in your company and will not refer your company to any one and I will make sure to let Ikea know how much of a horrible company you are. They quote incorrectly even when provided with the ktichen design. Were several thousand dollars off. We had to switch to a different countertop. Calls not returned. I went with my husband to look at quartz and granite at Atlas. We were interested in a few things and our salesperson, Nataly, told us to drive to Cranbury (an hour away) to look at stones and to get samples. We went there and chose a couple of things that we were interested in---but they were all in a room with flourescent lights and I knew the colors that I was seeing were not going to be correct. They didn't have samples of anything we picked. I then called Nataly and told her that I needed samples---silence on the other end of the phone. I told her that I couldn't spend 1000's of dollars for a stone that I couldn't even see in my kitchen lighting. Silence on the other end of the phone. I got off the phone and was disgusted by being directed to drive 2 hours and not even get a sample. But they managed to do one thing which was send pricing which was higher than any other outfit. i say give this place a pass---they offer no customer service nor are they interested in stepping up when queried about valid concerns. read more

It took them 16 business days to fabricate the stone, and when they came install the countertop on 09/12/2017, every single pieces of the countertop were in wrong size, and they didnt even polish my island pieces. The installation team told me that they have to get everything back and fix it, and they didnt know how long would it take. All my furniture, my family & my contractor are waiting for the countertop, i can't wait another month to get it, so i asked my contractor to move the cabinet to compensate the mistake for the piece that sits beside my stove. Now there's a half inch gap between my stove and cabinet. As for the island pieces, the top piece was too short, also, all three pieces were not polished, they have writings all over the back of the panels. I immediately contact customer service and they kept lying to me that they will call me back and they didnt, until the fourth time i call them which is the next day. Their manager Joanna called me back saying i have to wait another 10 days to get the piece fix and they can't guarantee me that they are 100% correct this time. They offer me a 250 dollar compensation for all this mess, which is unacceptable. I am so disappointed by the customer service. For someone who are considering buying countertop from IKEA Brooklyn, go some where else, it is a waste of time & money. read more

I wrote TWICE via email with the sales person I had been working with. Even mentioned the ignored response to the installer that had to return to finish the kitchen back splash. DO NOT USE! I went to Atlas 3 months ago to pick out a piece of stone for our countertop. It took them two months to fabricate the stone and when they came to install it, THEY INSTALLED THE WRONG STONE!!! They offered us minimal compensation and luckily had our original stone still on site. It has been one month and we are still trying to get them to come and instal the new stone. They keep bumping is off the schedule. I cannot wait until this nightmare is over! Incredibly rude customer service. They refused to fulfill an order I had placed (and paid for) through Ikea. When I asked them to confirm this in writing, the service manager gave me a ridiculous attitude and basically said it was "not her job". They had known about this order for month but instead of being the slightest bit apologetic about canceling the day I asked them to schedule, they made it seem as if they were doing me a favor. Avoid unless you are ready to be dealt w/ summarily when there is a problem. I was concerned by earlier negative reviews, and it was unfortunately confirmed. I was assigned them by IKEA to provide a granite kitchen countertop. Their lead-time to come and do a template was 2 week, and then 2 weeks of production. I was only informed (because I took the initiative to call them) of the delivery date the day prior. Delivery and installation were ok, BUT when the plumber came to install the sink the cut-out in the countertop WAS TOO SMALL!! Now a further delay while this is resolved.
