    Butternut squash soup

On a date night this past Wednesday and the food service ambiance were excellent as we're finishing dinner. Jazz musician was just starting her gig. We're very pleased with the wine list the menu selections and the items we ordered ! The grouper was excellent very fresh and a fairly large piece. My wife had a pair of pasta, which was also excellent, and I had an opportunity to taste it. We didn't start out with Caesar salad and the roasted butternut squash soup the soup was phenomenon very rich and tasty!

The ENTIRE experience was top notch! The best and I mean best meal I ever had. Well worth the advance reservation and ticket for the performance of the singer! The entire atmosphere of the little restaurant made us feel as though we were in France. The theme of the evening was French. We plan on returning of course because we were thrilled with how well this Vero Beach Restaurant has been established. A hidden treasure right on Old Dixie, downtown Vero Beach... Step inside you'll see and feel the aura of Atmosphere.

I googled romantic restaurant with live music and Atmosphere came up. They 5 stars across the board. I came to Yelp and there weren't any yet. I want to be the first to say this place is amazing. The decor and vibe lend itself to an intimate dining experience. Nice wine list, a little small, but prices were reasonable. Food was impeccable. We had the lamb chop starter, chopped salad and Scallops for dinner. Service was great. The entertainment was phenomenal. The trio of keyboards, upright bass and vocals. What a lucky find!…read more PROS: - Location was easy to find, in a strip mall off of a main road - The ambiance is garden/earthy and warm, with a true Mediterranean feel throughout - The staff is warm and helpful, greeted me upon entry and exit. My amazing server Simone helped answer questions about my lunch selection - Great selection of items on the lunch menu (they have Happy Hour y'all!) - My meal was brought out quickly - Food was very tasty and very well portioned... generously-sized CONS: - Only one... pricing. My salad with a protein was $35. In my opinion the one con in this case did not outweigh the many pros. This is a spot I will happily go back to one day when I'm back in the area. Perhaps working in Spain for two years ruined my take on tapas but this isn't really close. When we entered we were super impressed by the space. The replica of the Guernica on one side was super cool. I saw it as a kid in New York and a few years back at the Reina Sofía. But I digress... We ordered the tortilla española, croquettes, gypsy bread and mussels. First concern was the huge size portions. Crap, we're in America. The tortilla dish was like a potato frittata - a mouthful of flavorless mass. The croquettes, we asked for the fish but got spinach, were somehow even worse. A super thin bread coating and mushy interior. Gypsy bread - ugh, like a flat bread gone wrong. And the mussels instead of a pleasant garlic sauce were drown in a concoction with traces of tomato but lacking an identity. OK, we'll recover in dessert. They're out of the Key Lime so let's try this Phyllo thing. Imaging a sponge with chunks of orange on it. Bleh. I understand how hard it is to run a restaurant and I hate writing bad reviews. This place needs a major food upgrade and someone who knows how to make a croquette.

The fatty portion of my Prime Rib was excessive. I get that ribeye-style cuts derive flavor from fat, but this was to the point where it overwhelmed the dish and left me wishing I had ordered the lower-cost ribeye instead. On top of that, it came out medium instead of medium-rare, which didn't help. That said, others at the table ordered the NY Strip and Ribeye, and both looked excellent--cooked properly and more in line with what I'd expect from a steakhouse at this level. Highlights of the meal: Brazilian sliders were fantastic--definitely a must-order appetizer Oxtail stroganoff was rich and well executed Mac & cheese was a solid side Cocktails were creative and well made Overall, I've had better steaks at lower price points, but also worse ones at higher-end spots. Based on what I saw from other dishes, I'd absolutely give Ember & Oak another shot--just not with the Prime Rib next time.

We had a reservation and were seated as soon as we walked in. The actual restaurant was very clean and had a nice vibe to it! The seating was comfortable and spacious. Our server was a male (I forget his name) but he was great! He was very friendly, informative of the menu, and also attentive! Service can make or break your experience so I am glad we had a great server! My boyfriend said he had the best lemonade he has ever had. Our food was incredible. Everything tasted so fresh! We got a mixture of a bunch of things. I shared the steak and they were able to cut it in half and cook it at two different temperatures. The steak and mac n cheese were soo delicious!! Our server was kind enough to bring out a birthday dessert and package our food up for us! I knew the prices before walking in here, so I knew exactly what to expect. Most of the reviews say it's too expensive. It was "expensive" but the prices seemed VERY reasonable for the quality of food and the amount given. Overall, I had a great experience and I will definitely be back!

Lot's of meat but barely edible. Chicken fajita? bland at best. Fajitas were rolled in tin foil and unrolled (or unfolded) like thin cardboard. Peppers looked to have been boiled. We walked in and were told by the bartender/manager?? to please sit anywhere, but please don't sit in the front two tables, they like to keep those for larger parties. OK, I can deal with that since they only have 2 tables that seat more than 2. He then said we were welcome to sit at the bar (smaller tables were available, but had not been bussed). We started to sit at the front of the bar and then were instructed to please sit at the other end of the bar where he was setting up two places. TOO MANY RULES for lunch!! I almost walked out, but S/O logically said "We are already here, why don't we just stay"? Reluctantly, I agreed. We sat down and S/O ordered a beer (he gave it a thumbs up) and I ordered an iced tea. Bartender/manager/whatever then sets a glass of ice water down. I am confused as I did not order water, and you usually have to ask for water these days. Wait patiently for iced tea to no avail. Now, he has a woman server taking care of us. So I then reorder my iced tea and she brings it. She takes our food order and the order did come out fairly quickly. I got a steak sandwich and S/O got a reuben. Both were good and prices were reasonable. Nothing extraordinary, but not the worst meal I have ever had. Would I go back, I doubt it, with the rules thing and all. And BTW--No "large" party ever came into use those two tables in the front. However, the smaller tables did get bussed while we were there.
