Stopped in at 7:00 on a Friday night while traveling North and it was packed. By 8pm most patrons had cleared out, so we gather this is more of an early dinner kinda spot. If you want an eclectic- large- menu with fresh seafood and not stuffy vibe- this is your spot. Our server, Deb, was delightful. Simply perfect as far as service. We started with Oysters and onion rings. Couldn't say anything negative about their onion game and oysters were fresh. I prefer mignonette with mine, but this place is a cocktail sauce and crackers kind of spot. No prob. I had the fresh salmon "in the weeds" style. It was delicious. I've had a similar dish at a much more upscale place and this one held its own. My husband had the fish cakes and it came with fish and scallops in a crabcake style set up. They were also very good and very fresh tasting not fishy at all. We decided to take home dessert because we were so stuffed and Deb was kind enough to pack it all up for us with her infectious smile. Key lime pie- filling was excellent ratio of sweet and tangy but wasn't a fan of the crust. Seemed to have a hint of allspice or something unique that we picked up on but wasn't preferred. Peanut butter pie was classic and a 10/10. We saw several people with other dishes, like the taco salad or the fresh fish island style and they all looked amazing. The taco salad was massive and looked delicious. If you are looking for a casual spot with good food, great service and a good drink selection. You can't get much better than this. read more

We enjoyed a drink and light appetizers on a recent trip to Vero Beach. First, my skinny margarita was delicious - one of the best of the whole trip. My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner tonight at the Green Marlin. For appetizer we had the mahi and scallop cake, yummy! Hubby got the Kung Fu burger which he said was delicious! He loved the wasabi mayo on it. I enjoyed the grilled seafood platter with mahi, scallops and shrimp and veggies. It was amazing! And for dessert I highly recommend their Key Lime pie! It was the best I've had in Vero. Our server was Sherrie. She was very attentive and pleasant. It was a great atmosphere pretty busy for early dinner on a Tuesday evening. Wow what a place! Greeted by the owner Lou outside with his family. Dined indoors and were pleased every step of the way. Nice classy decor and a menu with lots to offer. Our bartender Lori greeted us and offered the specials of the day along with drink and food menus and we liked what we saw. Good prices and food offerings that made the decision hard lol. I didn't get to meet Athena who was managing the kitchen and came recommended by a patron named Bruce but the plates came rolling out so she must know her stuff. I saw one server bringing dessert after dessert out and from a look at the dessert case where you walk in that was a tough choice. I was shown the choices on a tray you would expect at a high end tuxedo spot by a very courteous Erica like America who despite not being in her section showed me all that was available. The bartender was professional and the crew worked as a team and even got to learn of the family behind this restaurant and met Lou's mother. Very pleased with our food but most impressed with the attention to the courtesy these folks offer. We'll do the outdoor area next visit where there is also a bar and table seating and at times a nice musician in the corner area. Service was terrific and the food was good. Peel and eat shrimp were the best- this is why people continue to order shrimp in other places only to be disappointed. Fried shrimp was delicious as well. We went on a Monday only to find out their already affordable prices are actually now specials so they were even cheaper. Three out of five of us jumped on the lobster special, 1.5lbs lobster for $25. Kids went with the seafood bowl and because it was a special today, only $24. Amazing. I was here while visiting my sister and treated her and her SO to a birthday dinner. I had been here on a previous visit and very much enjoyed the food both times. First is huge shout-out to Debbie, our fabulous server. She was friendly, professional, and made sure everything was good and everyone was happy. The vibe is casual sit-down local comfort food. The comfort food was excellent and definitely worth the price. Not cheap, but reasonable when getting served fresh seafood. Big perk of dining close to the source. Return visit? Definitely! If you have a service animal, DO NOT COME HERE!!! Immediately upon entering, when asked for our party size, we informed staff we needed a table that could accommodate my service dog. We were immediately told dogs were not allowed. We responded--correctly--that under ADA law (and per their own posted signage), service animals ARE allowed. The staff member said they were "just following rules" and would get a manager. After waiting over 10 minutes, no manager ever came. Instead, the staff member returned and told us we could come in--but added conditions: no feeding the dog and that she must stay under the table. Let me be clear: as a service dog handler, I am fully aware of the rules and responsibilities. Those comments were unnecessary and uninformed. Also, requiring a service dog to stay under a table is not a legal requirement--and in this case, not even physically possible due to her size. I again asked for a manager and was told they were "too busy." That response alone says everything. This was a complete failure in both staff training and management accountability. I strongly encourage management/ownership of Green Marlin to: 1. Properly train staff on ADA laws and how to appropriately interact with service animals and their handlers 2. Ensure managers actually step in when situations escalate--especially ones with clear legal implications Until that happens, service animal handlers should seriously reconsider coming here. read more

Food: the father's day buffet was delicious. The shrimp and grits were cooked to perfection. Prime rib was moist and flavorful. Homemade cookies and desserts were all great. Food hit the spot. Service: We were seated right away. Debbie was our server and she was super sweet and attentive. Ambiance: it was a tad dark inside which is why I gave it one less star. Also we were seated right by the buffet which was great but our seats backed up to the end of someone else's table and it made getting in and out difficult. This is one of my most regular places to visit and I almost never miss a Wednesday when I'm in Vero for the oyster specials! I should've taken time to write this a long ago, yet I'm also scared that too many more people will start coming here and I won't be able to get a table or even a seat at the bar! There is certainly something on the menu for everybody and the specials are diverse and priced appropriately for the quality and delicious taste that the kitchen sends out ! Tonight my mother-in-law tried the fried and cubed pork ribeye with a delicious sausage gravy, and cheddar grits. Her smile almost reached from ear to ear! My husband had the grilled delmonico prime and shared it was perfect. My crab legs were fresh and cooked perfectly- no hard work as they popped right out with minimal work! One of my favorites is always the tuna bomb appetizer it is absolutely delightful and the sauces that accompany it are perfect ! The homemade French onion dip and chips is the perfect accompaniment to their ice cold Stella's! The tiki bar, added just less than two years ago, is the perfect atmosphere to while away an afternoon with amazing service from all of the staff and a particular mention for Bobbi and Paula ! As a regular and a local this restaurant deserves five stars! There is always something different to try, the kitchen almost never fails and if you have a small deviation, let them know because they're gonna go above and beyond to make it right just like every experience when you come in to visit! We are all human but the Green Marlin is as close to perfection as I have found in the area! PS... I forgot desserts - they are amazing and because I'm always stuffed I get one to go! From the party of four we all had something different and everything everybody had was delicious. I had the seafood gumbo which was extremely tasty along with the Haddock salad. Our waitress was one of best checking up on us and making sure we had everything we needed and that everything was satisfactory. Once when she was covered up she actually had another waitress come check on us and to let us know she would be by shortly. First time there, I had the Admirals Platter it was ok not great but worth a second visit. On 2nd visit the food was terrible. I ordered fish and chips, it was not fish and chips, it was breaded fish and the breading was done incorrectly and didn't stay on the fish the Hushpuppies were refried and black from laying around and frying a second time and tasteless, the fries, run of the mill meh, the coleslaw was truly inedible, weird tasting. My husband had the swordfish with rice, it was tasty, but it wasn't what you would think when ordering swordfish, little triangles of very thin slices swordfish in rice that was completely dried out resembling cardboard. Obviously the food wasn't prepared fresh. Cooked and then reheated. We didn't stay for desert. Don't think we will be giving this restaurant another try. read more

We had a fantastic dinner with family last night. We ordered a dozen oysters that were fresh and delicious. The only downside was some were rather tiny. For dinner the boys had seafood boil that was plentiful. My husband and I each got catch of the day prepared differently. My mom has finally branched out and started trying new places when I visit. After going here, I told her what a great find it was. My whole family and my Fiancé loved the food. My favorite was the ahi tuna nachos. They were delicious. My mom loved the French Onion soup. My stepdad and fiance enjoyed the wings and mac n cheese egg rolls. I got the fish and chips as my meal. My mom got the same but she got two fish. There was a choice of one or two. I got the housemade chips instead of fries (or "chips" lol, it became a joke throughout our meal). It was really good. The outdoor patio area was awesome! They also had some mist which made it more comfortable. The peach cocktail with bourbon tea refreshing and delicious! The garlic Parmesan wings were fabulous! I heard all of the variety of oysters were all excellent too. The two crabcakes were a generous portion and were fresh and delicious! I ordered the shrimp fettuccine Alfredo, but there was a miscommunication with the lemon sauce. I would not get that again but everything else was fantastic from start to finish. Came here with my coworker for dinner, read the Yelp reviews before coming, so decide to give this place a try. The parking lot was crowded. We had a park a little way, but not too far. There was a tiki bar section and there's also outdoor seating or inside seating we went inside to greet the hostess for a seat. We wanted outside sitting, and she said that the outside seating in the tiki bar was self-serve. We checked it out and it was completely packed so we sat outside another section of the restaurant, friendly server and good food. However, once the food came out, there was a few flies try to get in our food so that was very annoying. Overall, the place is nice. I wish the hostess was outside so that way when someone comes up, they can greet us and tell us about the seating instead of going in and out. read more
