After paying thousands of dollars for a poor reupholstery job with another vendor, my partner and I were very cautious about finding our next sofa. We looked at a few other stores before finding Atmosphere Interiors. Grace was so patient, helpful, and overall wonderful with the process of designing our sofa. We spent over a month deliberating on fill, fabric, and dimensions, making several returns to the store and taking multiple swatches home before finally locking in our choice. Delivery was quick and on time, and they even held the sofa for us for a couple of weeks so we could move our old one out. We are extremely happy with our purchase! The quality and craftsmanship is superb, and we're confident this will last us many years. BEWARE of this business! 1. They will try to charge your credit card without your authorization. Per Matha "they have done this for 25 years" 2. I was personally insulted by Matha when I told her why I wasn't happy that they tried to charge my credit card without my approval & why I had concerns with when they wanted the second installment paid. 3. Don't bother even ordering from them: they aren't professional, when you voice a concern they will say your difficult or worse insult you personally. I came here to buy a couch because I wanted to shop local and a lot of chain type furniture stores have horrible reviews. This place has been around for 27 years and all their stuff is made locally and is much nicer and affordable than competitors. Was was referred to Atmosphere when I needed custom drapes for our new build. Martha came all the way out to Porter Ranch to measure our windows and consult on options. Their in-house drapery studio was also very impressive and we were excited to work on custom drapes. Their work is exceptional. Overall we had an excellent experience. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We have since frequented the store and have been impressed with their selection of quality, modern furniture. We spent a significant amount of time and visited numerous furniture stores in our area but couldn't find a sectional sofa that fitted our specifications. We needed a large sectional with deep comfortable cushions for movie nights and durable enough to cope with 2 large German shepherds sleeping on it too. RH had the nearest thing to it but were way over our budget. On the way home we saw Atmosphere Interiors (which we'd passed hundreds of times) and decided to check them out. Initially we couldn't see anything we liked but after speaking with the owner, he advised us that he could make any sofa/sectional to our exact specifications. The wonderful lady who works there showed us a gorgeous book of velvet fabrics which were water resistant and sofa cushions with different levels of firmness. To sum it up, we finally have an absolutely perfect sectional in a gorgeous green velvet with durability and comfort. Also couldn't believe how reasonably priced it was! I was shopping at a store nearby and thought I would stop-in to check things out. I was honestly highly impressed by what they had to offer. If you like Design Within Reach but can't afford their furniture, this is a great alternative - couches are between $1000 and $1500. This place is not cheap, but it's a great middle ground between high-end and stuff that will fall apart in a few years (i.e. IKEA). They also have a large selection of modern office furniture with a large selection of high quality Eames Aluminum offices chair knock-offs (the original can be hard to justify at $1500+). Don't get me wrong, some of the furniture was a little too odd or kind downright gaudy but I suppose you need to appeal to a wide range of tastes. Additionally, the staff was friendly and they were able to answer all of my questions. One tip: If you check in through Yelp, you'll get a 10% off coupon. read more

We had a custom couch made to our specs for our living room. The price was half of what a similar looking couch would have cost from another shop and we would have had to wait 5 months for it to ship from Asia. After about a year of owning the couch we decided we wanted the back cushions to be more firm. I called up Atmosphere thinking we would at least have to pay for new inserts or stuffing or something, but Ib took one of the cushions, took a look for an hour and then asked me to bring them all in. Two hours after that he said to come check them out, they were exactly how we hoped they'd feel, and he refused to charge us anything for the time and material. Great couch, great service. But it was too large. I just sat at that desk loving it but knew it would not work for me. Ib, the owner told me that his people could cut it down to size and finish the cut side. I now have the PERFECT desk! You'd never guess it was modified. Walking around Atmosphere is an experience if you've been walking through the chain stores. The furniture is unique and the art pieces are fabulous. I wasn't there to buy a desk chair but when I sat in one it was so comfortable I had to add it to my purchase! My search for a new bed and dresser, which took me a year, ended at Atmosphere Interiors. I found the furniture I wanted on the manufacturer's website, which referred me to Atmosphere Interiors as an authorized retailer. I worked with Ib Jensen at Atmosphere from start to finish. He was helpful and friendly, answering questions I had by phone and e-mail before placing the order. The ordering process was easy, and Ib was flexible and helpful on the particulars of my delivery and install requirements. The furniture was delayed a few days because of Hurricane Irma (the manufacturer is located in Florida), but throughout the process Ib was on top of it and gave me updates by e-mail. He was super helpful in arranging delivery at a time that was convenient for me, and his delivery guys were on-time, efficient, and totally on-point. Furniture arrived in perfect condition. So now, I have an awesome new bedroom set, thanks to Atmosphere! Next time I need modern furniture, I will go to Ib and his team at Atmosphere as the first stop. read more

Inspired by my purchase of a custom upholstered headboard (which was made in record time during the dark days of the pandemic's supply chain issues), my daughter ordered a sectional from Ib and company. It was also ready super quickly (around 6-7 weeks) and was made to her exact specifications, so it fit perfectly in her new townhouse. It is comfortable and beautiful! When I realized that I wasn't finding a ready-made replacement sectional that I liked, I went back to Ib and found him (and his company) able to take care of my needs. Offering advice on fabric, arms, legs, etc., Ib guided me through the process of ordering a custom sectional. There was an issue with the fabric (which arrived to Ib's with a large flaw in it), but Ib kept me apprised of the situation and clearly didn't want to deliver a sub-standard product. I also wanted a replacement rocker/spinner arm chair, and even though Ib originally told me that he didn't have immediate access to the base that was needed, he located one and made my chair just as I wanted it! I just bought a brand new modern condominium near this store, so one would assume that I would buy a lot of furniture here. NOT A CHANCE! I ordered four brown kitchen/desk chairs. I brought them home and within 24 hours there was a hole in one of the chairs. The owner gave me a new chair and within a week there was another hole in one of the chairs in the exact same spot! Then I realized that the original chair they replaced was a different model than the rest of the chairs. So now I have one chair with a hole and one chair that is different then the rest. I was pretty upset. The owner blamed me and told me that the holes were my fault. Mind you, I'm a professional with no kids or pets, and I just bought a pricey condo...I must say, I am very careful about not ruining anything in my new home. So after months of arguing the owner made me pay half to replace the chair with the hole, and he replaced the wrong chairs with correct chairs. And guess what????? They still didn't get it right. I still have one chair that looks different than the rest. Shop here only if you want cheaply made furniture sold by an unhelpful staff and owner! read more

Nice furniture on the floor, but overall pretty unhappy purchasing experience. They don't communicate with customers, which to me means they just don't give a shit. We paid for a coffee table. Grace, the saleslady, said it would take one week. We called back day of delivery. The owner said it takes 2 weeks. We wait again. No calls, no emails, no contact from them. Then she said the company didn't put our table on the delivery truck. Basically, we had problems every step of the way. Table arrived 5 weeks after the promised delivery date. Service sucked for us, but their stuff is cool and fun without being stupid expensive. read more

I have been shopping here since they opened. Ib, the owner along with Martha and Grace are very knowledgeable and helpful to find exactly what you are looking for. The furniture is beautiful and affordable. The style here is very contemporary and some very modern pieces. If he doesn't have furniture I am looking for over the years he has made me custom pieces, sofas, ottomans, etc. A very big selection of office furniture, for sure. If you are looking for pieces they don't have on the floor, they can usually find it for you in one of their books. A lot of pieces I have ordered have come in quickly, just a week. Sofas take a little longer because of the customizing of the fabric. Also, recently Martha has added window design studio inside the store. This place is great if you like modern and contemporary furniture. They sell furniture for all rooms but seems to focus more on living room and office furniture. We saw the glass desk we were looking for at half the price here as another furniture store. They told us we would get the desk in 3 weeks but ended up delivering it by the end of the week. Atmosphere does not deliver but will arrange delivery for you with its third party delivery service for about $80-$85 within the area. Overall it was a great furniture buying experience and the bf loves his new desk. I highly recommend this place! read more

We had a fantastic experience here! We have worked with Ib and Martha for the finishing touches for a condo we had remodeled. I wish we had found them sooner! The showroom is large and the prices reasonable. We found just what we were looking for including coffee tables, office furniture, bar stools and more. We were in the showroom a few times before making our selections and Ib greeted us warmly every time we walked in. Super happy with the furniture choices we made. Also, Martha is the best for window treatments. Before finding Atmosphere Interiors we had made poor choices with another company. I've recently had an amazing shopping experience here. I was just stopping by but ended up furnishing my whole dining and living room with them and may come back for more. What I liked most: 1) great selection of furniture: high quality, modern but not too eccentric, elegant and practical furniture at reasonable prices. Lots of floor samples you can order and get delivered within a week. In addition, most floor samples can be customized to fit your needs, if you're willing to wait a few weeks for a custom order. They have a great deal of options for customization that you won't find in most furniture stores. 2) outstanding customer service: Ib Jensen helped me select all the pieces, most of them custom orders. He was very knowledgeable about interior design and listened carefully to my wishes. The furnitures here are just in the middle of the road but they are overall very pricey. I couldn't see one piece that I like. Not to mention a regular 3 seat fabric couch would cost $2k. I can just go to nicer stores like HP buttercup or cheaper stores with nice design like Urban home or ikea. read more

Ib, the owner, was very pleasant to work with when we were making the purchase. It went smoothly and the delivery time was scheduled in a time frame that we were good with. After that, it went downhill. Basically we had to wait a few weeks and at the last day before the delivery I got a call saying that only half of the furniture was in and they could not find the rest. This was a problem because we already waiting two weeks and we had electrical, cabling, etc scheduled in the day after the delivery date. The owner said he was going to call me if he found out it could not be delivered. No call. So I show up the next day to take delivery assuming it would be there because he did not call back, and to my surprise only half of the furniture was there and most of what was delivered was wrong. Because of this, I got $500 in trip charges from the electrician because they were not informed in time about the changes, of which Atmosphere covered $0. The owner then said that our furniture was delivered to Arizona instead of LA and it would be a week before he could get it to us, or he could give me an "upgrade" at the same cost and have it there in a few days. We obviously accepted that offer, based on his verbal and written representations about the "upgrade." So the delivery day comes, and he deliveries what is not only not an upgrade, but furniture one of his competitors quoted us a few weeks earlier at almost half the price he was "making us a deal" at. Additionally, he said it was wood, and it was a veneer. He did say he would match the other guys pricing after we push him extremely hard on this (almost half of what he quoted if that goes to show you how much he marked it up). Additionally, there was missing pieces from the first set of furniture he delivered that we were keeping. This may have been partly my fault because I trusted that when I picked something out on the showroom, it would have been put on the ordered list. Evidently when we told them we wanted something they missed a few pieces and because the order slips description of each piece is like a foreign language, I missed it. But I negotiated the price based on everything, and evidently was not ever going to get it. Of that set, he ordered the main executive desk with the wrong return side. Also, he kept running my credit card without my permission, before delivery. I had to put a hold on my credit card to make sure he did not do it the last time as he tried to over bill us for the credit of the more expensive desks vs the delivered desks. Luckily I did that because he tried to charge us again without authorization. So all of this happened, and not once did he say he was sorry or take any responsibility for his incompetence. I would stay away. He is not to be trusted. read more

Besides of been a Dog friendly place the owner brought out a bowl of water for my dog and he took him out for a walk while I was shopping!! The crew there is super nice and the furniture super cool and great prices, besides is a pleasure to do business with the owner, he is very nice, he helps you to pick the perfect piece of furniture and if it doesn't exist, he makes a drawing for you and makes it!, they make great custom furniture and I do have at home a unique piece that fits all my needs. They have now a Drapery studio, I got a couple of custom drapes and a couple of roller shades and the prices were way better that so many drapery places in LA, I'm so happy my favorite furniture store now has a drapery studio!!
