Who doesn't love pizza? I think all pizza is either good or great. And then you have pizza from Atmosphere! Wow! I moved here two years ago from Chicago. We know our food in Chicago, and we definitely know our pizza. The pizza here is not Chicago style, it's not New York style, it's Italian. Not Italian style, but authentic 100% Italian. Period. Many of the key ingredients are imported from Italy. The pizza is prepared by Antonio, also from Italy. It's baked in a beautiful, hand crafted wood burning oven. You can sit right at the bar and watch the chef masterfully prepare your pie from scratch and gracefully slide it into the piping hot oven. My kids love watching the make process and the flames coming off of the burning wood. I can honestly say that this is the best authentic Italian pizza I have ever had. Yes, better than any other Italian pizza I had in Chicago, and there are some great ones there! You can also get a nice bottle of wine and Italian beer that's hard to find elsewhere. The owners Jay and Antonio are the nicest couple. After my first visit, I left feeling like I knew them forever. They make you feel right at home and take great care to assure the food is exceptional and that the experience is even better. We went on a rainy Weds at about 5:45. I did call ahead to make a reservation as I had seen suggested by so many, as this is a very small place with +/- 10 tables. Whomever answered the phone was so nice, but told me they do not take reservations; she did, however, offer to put me on the "call ahead list". Once we arrived, I was a bit confused, as I saw 2 tables and the small pizza bar area with "reserved for" signs on them. We were offered a small table in the back of the house which ended up being just fine. The atmosphere (no pun intended) was simple and cozy. The place was super busy, even on a rainy Wednesday at 5:45; always a good sign! Our Server was the best! Super sweet, cheerful and knowledgeable of the menu. She was also on top of everything which was amazing considering she was the only server for the 7 or 8 tables in the restaurant. I also noticed the staff was very sensitive to the COVID situation by wearing masks, deep cleaning tables and having hand sanitizers not only up front, but at each table. We started off with the meatballs, which, by themselves, were executed well. Very light, not dense or heavy and had a nice flavor. The sauce they serve on top, however, killed the meatballs. It was too heavy with consistency and flavor. Totally overwhelmed the beautiful meatballs, which should have been the showcase. They would have been lovely with the lighter, fresh sauce they use on their pizzas. We also had the Bruschetta. This was underwhelming, basically just chopped tomatoes with a balsamic glaze and oil. No garlic, or basil. This was served with arugula atop their pizza crust. We also had the Caprese salad, again, average and underwhelming. Next came the entrées. We had the Margarita Pizza and the lasagna. The pizza crust was good (though tended to be soggy towards the center), with a very light, fresh and flavorful sauce which allowed me to enjoy the crust and the simple ingredients of fresh mozz and basil. The Lasagna, to me, was heavy with the same bolognese sauce which topped our meatballs. It had an unexpected flavor of smokiness, which we were told was smoked provolone. My fiancé said it was interesting, but wouldn't necessarily order again. Lastly, we took home their Salami Pizza to my very picky 17 year old Son, who devoured it and said he really liked it. Coming from NY I am a pizza snob and like every other state outside of NY and NJ have not found pizza like home or a restaurant that makes you feel like family. Not one restaurant in Fl have I patronize that remembered my name the second time I went back. Until Atmosphere. Recent, I ordered take-out choosing the pasta of the day and a salad - I was told would be ready in minutes. When I arrived fifteen minutes later, I was immediately greeted by a very friendly host, my food was nicely packed, the restaurant smelled delicious and as I left, I hoped my initial impression would last. It was better than wonderful, it was fabulous! The pasta ravioli in cream sauce was outstanding and the salad was cold, crisp and incredibly tasty. The restaurant is very. very small but Atmosphere has an online process to reserve/notify of an available table but whether you eat there or at home, I guarantee you, the food is truly impressive. read more

Before going onto the negative, let's emphasize the positive: the service staff is absolutely top-notch, friendly, and knowledgeable, they are the salt of this restaurant...and while we are on the 'salt' subject, the kitchen staff (and ownership) seem to be completely oblivious of that essential ingredient...food totally unseasoned and bland...not even a salt shaker on the table. We arrived for a 6:30 reservation, were seated promptly, beverages, specials recited and food order taken, the appetizer served...and then? then the fun began. We were offered a front-seat row to observe tables, that were seated after us, get their food, pay, and leave while we waited 2 hours (no kidding) for our 3 pizzas to arrive...soggy. If you are looking for excellent wood fired pizza this is your spot. We have tried several places and Atmosphere is by far the best. We enjoyed the friendly and welcoming service. You can watch the owner make the pizza right from your table and the oven is beautiful. On top of amazing pizza the desserts were delicious! We were very impressed with the selection from triple chocolate cake, lemon cake, and pistachio cake. We couldn't decide so we got all three and they did not disappoint. This is some great pie! Authentic Napoli pizza made from a wood fire pizza oven. I had the monday night special margherita  pizza with a beer for $15 and my parents had some kind of pizza with prosciutto and sausage. We all loved it. We also loved the ambience, service and care. We spoke to the owner for about 10 minutes and he shared a bit of his story with us. For dessert we had the lemoncello cake and the pistachio ricotta cake. We liked the pistachio ricotta cake the most but both were really good. We will definitely be back! read more

Opened by a kind and sharing family, this is the best pizza I've had in Florida... or anywhere in the South! The quality of the ingredients are fresh and superior to most restaurants. Staff remember your name and are attentive. They went above and beyond with splitting dishes without charging extra. We had three pizzas (one per person) and salads. This restaurant was great when we first went last fall. We last went in late March and again in late April. The way the pizzas are cooked has changed. The crust is burned black in spots, and the cook said that was normal. It wasn't always that way. The meatballs are VERY good, and so are the specials of the evening. Staff seemed to have changed between the fall and the spring. On the April visit it was a Friday night, slow and we felt very rushed. We had a bottle of wine, appetizer and an entree and a pizza and still were rushed out in 45 min. It is very small inside the restaurant, but that night it was quiet. Maybe 3 tables. read more

From someone who had to travel to Italy once a week for work this place is the real thing. Authentic ingredients and fresh made to order pizza. The owner/chef is fresh from Italy and the food tastes like it. The staff are amazing friendly and considerate of your every need. The intimate dining inside is comfortable but we chose to sit outside. We had a bottle of wine reasonably priced and the smoked wood fire mozzarella as a starter, we each had a pizza and had to take some home. They also make pizzas you can take home and cook for that busy after work night. I was told about the special events where they offer multi course authentic Italian cuisine with wine paring. First off, let me state my credentials. I'm of Italian heritage, first generation and I've frequented the best Neapolitan Pizza places across the country. I don't write a ton of reviews but I am making an exception because I love to see a young/ up and coming Chef looking to take it to the next level. I had a completely different experience compared to a couple of negative reviews about the disposition of the front hostess/staff; the front hostess had a great personality. Perhaps the opposing reviews are people who like to have the restaurant staff take a subservient position to the customers. Never mind the noise or private issues that individual customers need to work through on their own with their so called "reviews". Without a doubt Chef Antonio the owner who is from Naples, Italy is dedicated, hardworking and passionate about his craft. The pizza was really good. I would give it 5 stars but there is room for improvement that I am sure as Chef Antonio grows over time will take that leap. Some areas of improvement would be the ambience of the place itself. The ambience is modest and somewhat basic, nothing special yet clean but over time could use some updating. The old drop ceiling and lighting is a bit outdated and the fixtures/tables are somewhat drab. The pizza itself is really good like I said but is a notch or 2 below the best of the best. However, this is the best in the Sarasota area for authentic eat in or take out Neapolitan Pizza hands down! Nothing in the Sarasota/Bradenton area comes close to this. If you're looking for a really good Margherita pizza in the Sarasota area then stop in and support a local business. I didn't have anything else on the menu but just came here for the pizza and I wasn't disappointed but yet pleasantly pleased. read more
