    Delicious!!!

I happened to be in the are and decided to stop in for lunch since they have a huge sign outside. At first, we were a bit confused cause the door said Il Panificio, but then saw that Sol's had a small counter in the back left corner. Our server was very nice and there is plenty of seating inside and out. The pizza looked very dried up and stale through the glass, but I wasn't there for that and wanted authentic Jewish Deli food. She raved about it so I got the Rachel and the Pastrami was melt in your mouth good. Perfectly seasoned, huge portions (I saved half my sandwich for the next day and it was equally good), and loved the cole slaw. The sandwich was about $13 or so and clearly worth it. Can't wait to come back and try the Knishes. I'm from Queens so I'm very spoiled when it comes to my deli food and have the highest expectations. I'm glad this was so authentic!

Great thin crust pizza For today's lunch I headed to Il Panificio in Gulf Gate. It has been months since we have visited but they have always had great pizza. Today was no exception. I got two slices, a pepperoni and sausage and a mushroom and sausage. Both were oily and tasted great. The bottom crust had a little crunch to it, which I find much better than those floppy pieces you often find elsewhere. I expected to just order slices at the counter and someone would holler at me when they were heated. Instead it morphed more into table service. Good service too, she brought over the slices and refilled my drink, and even dropped off and picked up the check while I relaxed at the table. The food is still served on paper plates, so it has a ways to go to be a real sit down restaurant. They have seating both inside and out, and during the season they sometimes have live entertainment. There is also a Pokestop, so you can bring the kids or adults that play kids games and spin out your balls and potions while you enjoy the food. That's how I spent my lunch.

IL Panificio was an interesting place to stop in and have lunch. The waitress was friendly and helpful. The place is bright and open and kind of modern. I looked at the pizza's in the show case and the toppings looked great. The crust looked thinner than I like. They looked a little dry. I got the Italian Focaccia sandwich and a small Greek Salad. Both were fresh and great. Monica got 2 slices of pizza and she was not overenthused with the pizza. (She is of a mind like me - thicker crust, more cheese and sauce and fresher rather than sitting out a long time would be better). So when I return I'll order salad and a sandwich and the great cold beer. If I was to get pizza from here I'd get a fresh baked pie and get thicker crust if available. I like the place and hope to return. I posted pics from the visit

Great pizza! Great desserts. Ordered 4 slices of pizza. 1. Cheese, Artichoke and black olive. 2. Cheese and Mushroom. 3. Cheese, Mushroom and Pepperoni 4. Just Cheese. Crust was perfect. Thin and crispy. Sauce was sweet but not over powering. Cheese is stringy and delicious. Has an outdoor patio and a cute but small dinning area. Desserts were awesome! Tiramisu and Chocolate mousse cup.

We've been here twice, both were great experiences. The first time, we sat at the bar and my boyfriend and I shared a salad and their sausage, onion, pepper pasta dish. It was good, nothing fantastic. The bartender, Kari I think, was so sweet and helpful. The second time, we had a party of five (four adults and a 4-year-old), and we sat at a table next to the window. Our server was great - wish I remembered his name. We ordered two of their pizzas, and it was plenty of food. They are delicious!! My favorite was their white pizza with chicken -- YUM! We also got a Hawaiian pizza, which everyone seemed to enjoy. I'd definitely recommend going to one of their locations to try their fresh pizzas!!

They moved from gulfgate to Reynolds ave off of 41 just down the street. Now open and just as good as always! My favorite pizza around, and the staff is always great! New location is cozy and clean, still doing by the slice and now has a help your self fountain drink area. Still serving beer and wine! Check out the new location!

Had so much fun here! Ordered a Greek salad and a slice of pizza. Their salads are huge and fresh brimming with great veggies. One is plenty for a meal, split one if your ordering more than that. Pizza is delicious. I had the ricotta spinach. The best part of our visit was the singing bartender! He has a great voice and so attentive to everyone!

Outdoor seating offers both al fresco à la humidity or under a lovely lanai with fans. The meals generally include mixed vegetables and roasted potatoes; however the menu doesn't say that nor did our server. Only the all pasta dishes come with pasta. There is no side of pasta offered either. This was disappointing because we were in the mood for pasta. After overcoming this, the dishes we chose were all delicious. Our guest said the sole of fish and sauce was great. The branzino at $49 we were told was boney but tasty. The lobster raviolis were cooked perfectly and topped with 2 pieces of grilled shrimp. The chicken scaloppini was tender and the white wine sauce was light and smooth. Overall the meal was good. Our server was distracted and sloppy. Considering it was not at all busy and there was sufficient staff, our server looked overwhelmed. Water glasses were left unfilled and drinks were spilled when served. We had to ask for extra napkins to clean the stem of our glasses. Glad we tried it, but with so many Italian options in this area, I think we will leave this spot for the visitors.

My house vodka martini was great & only $6! We shared ate almost entirely off the HH menu - bruschetta, caesar salad, bolognese, & the pasta with mushroom sauce. Pasta is homemade & you can get it off the HH menu! We even got a bread basket served to us! We indulged in profiteroles for dessert. The bartender was wonderful. The interior looks very nice. Outside they have plenty of tables. Would definitely go back to this place.

I was so happy that they were open until midnight because I needed a reservation for after 10PM. They accommodated my reservation for 2 at 10:30PM and everything was great. Our server, Zach, was knowledgeable and attentive. He made sure we were taken care of and was on it. The portions here are very good. The bread is nice and crisp to start. The appetizer mussels were a LARGE portion, but luckily I didn't mind taking them home as leftovers. They were incredibly delicious and fresh. The tuna dish was tasty with a nice kick. The chef's social ravioli was really good, not something I'd typically order but it was worth it. The music here was a good volume and the vibes were nice. They had a really nice piano, would've loved to have someone playing on this night, that would've really set the standard here. Overall, a very nice restaurant. If I'm ever back in the area I'd certainly return.

First impression, plenty of street parking directly in front and as we entered we noticed a truly beautiful outdoor patio, nicely landscaped, centered around a beautiful outdoor stone fireplace. When the weather cools we will look forward to enjoying that. As it was a bit warm outside we chose an indoor table. The interior is beautifully done with elaborately detailed tray ceilings, soft colors, soft lighting, a really lovely bar, and a quiet luxury throughout. We were greeted by the host Bob, who we later learned is a partner/owner, and we were seated immediately. Our waitress Holly was fun, engaging, attentive and eager to please without ever being overly present throughout the night. She set the tone by announcing that all wine was $10 off per bottle and all signature cocktails were $10 each. We were informed these values are expected to be offered at all times during low season (not just a happy hour). We found the wine and cocktail pricing to be extremely reasonable even without this extra offer. Holly also volunteered that the kitchen would happily split any appetizer onto two plates and we were also welcome to order just a half salad or half Caesar salad if only one of us wanted one. For the waitperson to offer this without even being asked, we felt the spirit of hospitality was off to a great start as it was obvious the restaurant is prioritizing customer happiness above all else. The menu, which you can review on their website, was full of enticements that had us vowing to return so that we could sample more and more offerings. We settled on a half house salad (excellent), a pasta fagioli (unforgettably good) one of their signature dishes, "Chicken Our Way", and Rigatoni Bolgnaise. The chicken dish was simply out of this world, very lightly breaded and beautifully glazed with a wonderful sauce. The table next to us, having driven up all the way from Northport, politely demanded to know what the dish was as the aroma graced their table. The Rigatoni Bolognaise was as fantastic as any dish we had while travelling through Italy; the bolognaise sauce was unquestionably made from scratch in-house and was as delicious and as authentic as it comes. As we were dining, a woman entered who had the essence of an owner; she went from staff member to staff member, and from table to table, checking on every employee and every customer to ask how things were going. When she stopped at our table, she introduced herself as Beverly, the host's partner. She stayed with us for quite some time showing a genuine and personal interest in us. We were not just a customer to her; we were clearly a new and valued acquaintance. This level of Mom-and-Pop personal service is very hard to find today in Sarasota--and it makes all the difference in the world. We can't wait to go back to see Bob, Beverly and Holly again as they truly made us feel like family. And we can't wait to try more of their enticing dishes. You simply MUST sample this restaurant and see for yourself. I fear though that if too many people discover it, the restaurant may grow and change. I hope that doesn't happen, because it is perfect right now, in this moment, exactly the way it is.

There were about 4 tables so plenty of room for more guests and the bar was empty. The sausage and peppers sandwich was flavorful per my husband. The sausages are not sliced but cut making the sandwich a complete mess. The bread is not made to hold the sausage. I had the chicken Marsala sandwich. Again had a huge issue with the bread being useless. The mozzarella was on the bread but none on the chicken. The Marsala sauce was bland and minimal. Would not get this again. The disco fries were not making me happy. Basically thin fries smothered in gravy. Where was the cheese? The gravy was also bland and we ended up tossing most of them out. The restaurant itself is nice with darker colors and clean. Prices on the regular menu are pricey and after trying their sauce I can see why it was empty. Personal peeve, Italian dish that doesn't include pasta as a side option when clearly they have pasta in the menu is wrong.
