Don't at all come here for a piercing what so ever. I got a lower helix and the piercer dropped the clamp and it was a painful experience considering I've gotten many piercings (much more intense than a helix). She also didn't tell me what jewelry she was going to install, now there is a gem into my ear. I really, really dislike the gem but I can't change it and now I'm stuck with it-I'm upset about this . I also really dislike the placement where I got the piercing, I could have advised against it but she convinced me otherwise and I kind of hate the placement and immediately regret it. They install titanium jewelry which is great but don't come here for a piercing if you value choosing what jewelry you have and professionalism. Maybe other piercers are more equip for this service but I don't recommend going here, please do research and choose somewhere else. She didn't even introduce her name to me but my piercer was female identifying with gauges. Please DO NOT get a piercing by anyone complimentary to this description PLEASE! Two days later update- I had to get this removed because it was so crooked and I was concerned about getting an infection!! Save yourself and be safe!! When I called, they mentioned a $100 minimum, but I didn't confirm whether that applied to each of us individually. We were all getting the same tiny ladybug tattoo in honor of my grandma who passed away. From previous experiences at other places, I've sometimes seen the price adjusted for small, matching tattoos done in a group. That was my mistake for not clarifying, so we ended up spending $300 total. While the tattoos were done quickly and turned out well, I honestly don't think the small, simple design was worth $100 per person. I visited Atomic Tattoos because I was having trouble with my belly button piercing. I had worn something in it for the first time in about a year, and it had gotten inflamed, and when I took the piercing out it had begun to close. I was nervous and a bit embarrassed because I suspected that I had let it get infected. Jessica was an absolute rockstar. With great bedside manner, they explained the different possibilities of what could have happened and then talked me through everything as they cleaned the area, determined that the piercing was still open, and helped stretch it to accommodate a ring again. They gave me recommendations on how to treat the infection, what to look out for, and how to care for the piercing in the near future. They also gave me their card in case I had any concerns come up. Overall, they took what could have been a really uncomfortable experience and made it feel very comfortable and safe! I will definitely come back to Atomic Tattoos and Jessica for any future piercing needs. read more

Went to get pierced. first red flag was the girl working that day. Rude & unpleasant vibe from her. Second red flag was seeing the jewelry she was going to put in. I wanted a cartilage piercing and yes I got pierced with a needle but she ended up putting a butterfly back stud in (I could've gone to Claire's for this) I should've said something then but I wanted to trust them since they are a tattoo/piercing shop. If you do more research on the shop you can can see that a "piercer" pierced one person 12 times in one sitting (what?!) Waste of $47. Alexandra (didn't even tell me her name, I did my research and found it) didn't go over any aftercare instructions just gave me a phamplet and took my money. Kelly was really kind and knowledgeable. They don't do any gun piercings here. She explained how even when guns are treated they can still pass dangerous diseases such as hep C. She did my piercing by hand and it was not as painful as I thought it was going to be. We counted to 3 and it was in. I was in and out of there in under 12 minutes. I got my first tattoo here yesterday and loved the atmosphere and people. My friend and I had our stencils repositioned a few times to get it just right and didn't feel rushed at all. I was super excited to go home and take off the bandage, but when I did I found that one of the I's was slightly crooked and some of the other letters didn't have clean edges. Considering it was a super simple tattoo and the minimum was $100, I was upset I didn't get exactly what I wanted. read more

My friend and I stopped in to look at their artwork and possibly get a tat. We loved their work and just happen to have 2 artists available to do our tats for us. My artist was Ryan and he was amazing in every way. This was my 1st tattoo, so I was a little nervous. I told Ryan that and he was a gem, walking me through every step of the way. Very calm energy, which made me feel at ease. I opted to listen to music through my ear buds to kinda 'zone out' from the pain, which he was more than fine with, but still offered to talk to me if I wish. The tattoo came out better than expected! Bold, great lines, and the pain wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Thank you Ryan, for making my 1st tat experience a positive one. My impression of the artist at this shop are...they seem really snotty, biased, and think they are the shit or "whatever"? I'll mail the gift card to them or my husband can use it. We went over to the shop during their open hours, and they were closed. I called the day before to confirm payments, if we needed reservations, and if we could see the same artist. The person on the phone asked us to come early, and that is what we did. Upon arriving at 12pm on a Sunday, we were met with a locked gated door. When I tried calling, their voicemail was full, and I was unable to leave a message. This place was recommended to me by family, and I had high hopes on getting my piece that day. read more

This is my favorite place to get pierced or get tattoos. Sam is amazing. He has been free handing most of my work and it is amazing. Check the pictures I uploaded. As far as customer service, I have always experienced excellent customer service. I have never had a problem with rude staff or anything like that. The best thing to do, is make an appointment if you want a tattoo or a piercing. You can't expect to walk in and get what you want when the shop is closing in five minutes. I have referred several people to the shop. They have come out with amazing tattoos. I highly recommend atomic. read more

My tragus piercing grew a mind of its own a couple nights ago and i woke up jewelryless. I put a cheap stud in there while I searched frantically, but had to run to work and suck it up. I was searching for nearby piercing parlors and then it hit me - I had seen this Atomic on North Ave a couple times and hoped they'd also have piercing stuff. Parking was easy on the streets and I was greeted right when I walked in. I spoke with a lady piercer about the kind of post I was looking for and she not only showed me which I could choose from up front, but then brought me back and showed me all the studs she also had in her room. I picked one out quickly, and she kindly offered to put it in for me, which is always super difficult. She was friendly, sanitary and effiecient. I will be back! read more

Piercer put my daughter as ease, which is important. I could tell he was very aware of keeping things sterile in his immediate work space and changed his gloves any time he touched something that could contaminate the materials. He did a good job making sure he placed the piercings where she would like them. Environment was predictable for a tattoo joint. As I stated in my check in comment - what really chapped my hide was the lack of consideration to the CUSTOMERS in regards to all the staff standing on either side of the entrance smoking. I hate the smell of smoke it makes me feel sick and headaches follow. I get the F the status quo thing and all, been there, but if you want people to pay you money for your talents, you need to have a bit more consideration especially with the number of choices customers have. Go smoke out back or just 10 feet from the door so we don't have to walk through the cloud to get into the store. read more

Don't bother going! If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I came here 4 days ago after trying 2 other piercing shops that had nose rings. I had accidentally knocked my nose ring out the day prior and just needed to find a new one and have it put in my already pierced nose. Place smelled like marijuana and the piercer was obviously stoned. I was desperate to get a nose ring back in because it had already been a day and the hole was starting to close. It took forever for him to process my questions which made finding a new nose ring take way longer than necessary. When putting the new nose ring in, he used gloves but didn't clean the area before putting new stud in. He did use vaseline to lubricate. TURNS OUT HE PUT MY STUD IN TOO TIGHT and my nose has been bleeding and oozing puss underneath so it might be infected, too. I just went back today and piercer hasn't showed up for work! He's supposed to be here and they don't know when he's showing up! I got there an hour after it opened. There are no other piercers on the staff. Now, I have to try to contain this problem until I'm out of state and can find a clean, reputable place that can put my nose ring in correctly. I have no idea how they are still business. read more

Wonderful experience for a newbie to the tattoo scene. I've admired Japanese body art since learning of their trade while studying for my BFA. I knew that if I were ever to brandish a work of art on my skin, it would be for life. I'd want my canvas to be used with utmost care and diligence. I was fortunate to have a sitting with Horiryu, on tour in the USA and then working with the artists at Atomic Tattoo. The atmosphere was busy, but not chaotic. The artist held his countenance and worked quickly at the same time. I had work applied from my left deltoid, around the front bicep to the tricep - all within 3 hours! Pure magic. I noticed the staff was very helpful with questions. Another customer was unsure of tattooing due to his possible hemophilia. The owner was professional and advised the client to see his doctor first. Not a fly-by-night operation. Highly recommend. See for yourself in my profile photo! Drawback? Excellent art does not come cheap. Total work done was billed at $650. For a lifetime investment on your body, it is worth it. read more

I love this place. It's been almost two months since I've had an infection of my ear lobe piercings. I went to the doctor, but the nurse and doctor said, "You look fine." The doctor gave me five days of antibiotic because I asked for it, but didn't have much advice beyond stop using alcohol, peroxide, and antibacterial cream on your ears. The antibiotic didn't have an effect so I finally looked up a piercing place which I should have done from the start. Sara is so nice, careful, and sanitary! She cleaned my studs, put them in, and gave me saline solution for free!!! She also gave me a brochure for APP and safepiercing.org I would definitely come here again for any piercings or tattoos. I was able to walk in on a Sunday afternoon, show the staff a picture the compass rose I wanted on my forearm and the were able to come up with an awesome design on the spot. I got a daith piercing here in late February. The piercer was very friendly, patient, and attentive. However, my piercing developed hypotrophic scarring and infection. When I saw another piercer about fixing it, she told me I was pierced too shallow and at a very strange angle. Trying to troubleshoot and fix this has cost me more than the original piercing appointment. On top of that, there is no guarantee that even after troubleshooting that I will be able to keep this piercing in my ear. Perhaps this was just a fluke but I would steer clear of this place if you are looking for a good daith piercing. read more

No no no... this place sucks. I don't know anything about how well they do with tattoos but if we're talking piercing and customer service, they've got some pretty big problems. I have been to both of their locations in Milwaukee and had a bad experience at both. The first time I went in was at their Eastside location and I went in to see if I could buy a new nose ring. The guys who were working acted as though they knew literally nothing about piercings... like they couldn't just sell me a new ring because their piercer was at the other location - I never even got to telling them that I needed something in particular. They acted completely disinterested and like the had better things to do even though I was the only customer in the store. So I left and ended up going to their other location (should have known it wouldn't have been any better). At their Northside location, I told the piercer that I needed a titanium ring because as it turns out, I'm allergic to surgical steel and was having a bad reaction to my current nose ring. Unfortunately, they didn't have any of those in stock... so the piercer (who was pretty nice) said that he would order one for me and that it would be in by the end of the week. Gave him my phone number, and he said he'd call once it came in. One week goes by... then two... it's been a month now and I've never gotten a call from them. So. Much. Time. Wasted. If I had known I wouldn't be hearing back from them, I would have ordered a ring elsewhere way earlier, but I wasted about two weeks waiting for them to call me about this order. Resorted to Etsy (thank goodness for two day shipping). read more

Owner Sam Bielinski is ridiculous. We were loyal customers for about 10 years but now very glad to take our money elsewhere. He did a throat tattoo, went to someone else for face tattoos. Booked time for additional work on face and finishing up a sleeve he did. Clearly told him that in the communications exchanged when booking the appointment. Apparently it's so disrespectful to "extend his work" (a throat is not a face - all other artists consider these separate areas) and he decided to wait until the start of the appointment to be a baby about it, despite knowing exactly why the time was being booked and having pictures. Drove 45 minutes, left kids at home, to watch him have a temper tantrum; it would have been comical if it weren't verbally abusive. A little shook to have such an absurd interaction after spending thousands of dollars and skin space with him (thought we were friends) but also very excited to get the rest of my body done by respectful artists that understand and care about body autonomy. Leave your hostility at home dude and enjoy that huge ego of yours. Our advice to you: save your money, time and precious art space; find an artist handling their mental health better and one that will treat you with common decency even if they aren't happy. read more
