Still my favorite restaurant. Their entire menu changed since the last time we came so we were able to try a variety of combos.

It's tough to say much more than has already been said on the topic of Atomix. The experience is very well done, the vibe is great and the service is top-notch. Overall I thought the food was very good - it focuses on being innovative and generally punchy with diverse flavor profiles and good technique. I personally felt like it didn't quite hit the mark of admittedly high expectations, but i missed a bit of a spark. Almost every dish was very good, and we left satisfied. I will have to visit again to see if it was just me.

Celebrated my anniversary here. Awesome food and amazing service! Loved asking questions and chatting with Jordan and Wolfgang during our dinner. Highlights: + Yellowtail, Honeynut squash, Macadamia + Golden eye snapper, potato, mussel + Lobster, Nuruk, Gochujang + Passion fruit, White lotus tea, Tapioca + Also added a persimmon leaf tea that was yum I did like Jungsik more for overall tasting, but the funkier dishes here were amazing. Wish the whole thing was funky/experimental, that's all! Let's go with 4.5 stars.

Came here for my anniversary and wow, did Atomix deliver. I've been trying to come here for years now, but reservations are incredibly hard to get. I finally managed to secure one and honestly felt lucky just to have the opportunity. This is easily a top three dining experience of all time for me. There are two options: the chef's counter and the bar tasting. I went with the chef's counter. I don't drink, so I'm not totally sure how the experiences differ. The restaurant is a bit hard to find and looks pretty unassuming from the outside. The first floor is where the bar tasting happens, and then a flight of stairs takes you down to the basement where the main tasting counter is located. The space is beautiful. There's a giant silver-gray bow installation on the wall that spans both floors. When we walked downstairs, someone greeted us with sikhye and showed us some of the ingredients that would appear in the meal, including truffles and caviar. It was such a cool introduction and showed the level of attention to detail here. Before the meal started, we were also given hand towels with "Atomix" printed on them, which was a cute touch. Because we had to reschedule our reservation due to the NYC snowstorm stay-inside mandate, they also gave us complimentary champagne. Atomix Tasting Menu: Pumpkin & Cinnamon sikhye Scallop*, Gim bugak, Mustard kimchi Littleneck clam*, Dashima, Chrysanthemum Half beak fish*, Granny Smith apple, Sea grape Monkfish liver, Squid, Tangerine Kohlrabi, King crab, Kristal caviar* Abalone, Pomegranate, Red cabbage Celtuce jangajji, Pearl onion, Cashew nut Golden eye snapper, Potato, Sea urchin* Red endive & Cilantro salad Lobster, White asparagus, Cheongju Lobster jeotgal rice Lamb*, Goji berry, Broccoli rabe Gochujang lamb noodle Passion fruit, White lotus tea, Tapioca Burdock, Dark chocolate, Black truffle * indicates items that may be served raw. The sikhye was a warm and comforting start to the meal. The scallop and littleneck clam were delicious but extremely small bites. Honestly, I wanted more. The scallop might have been one of the best I've ever had, and the clam was easily one of the best bites of my life. The half beak fish was fantastic. It was incredibly light and the sauce around it complemented the fish beautifully. I usually don't care for liver, but the monkfish liver dish was so balanced and full of umami that I really enjoyed it. I had never had kohlrabi before, but the kohlrabi noodle dish was amazing. It was light and refreshing, and the generous amount of caviar on top added richness and contrast. I usually avoid abalone, but I figured I should try it since I was at Atomix. It was a bit tough, though I'm not sure what the typical texture is supposed to be. The sauce reminded me a little of General Tso's chicken, which I actually loved. The accompanying side dish was refreshing and well balanced. I remember the snapper being incredibly delicious, and the side salad was fresh and vibrant. It was one of my favorite fish bites of the night. The lobster was cooked perfectly and incredibly tender, as you'd expect. The lamb course was the only miss for me, but that's entirely because I personally don't like lamb. I'm sure it would be great for someone who enjoys it. The desserts were outstanding. The passion fruit dessert, which reminded me of a bingsoo, was icy, crunchy, refreshing, and tangy. The chocolate dessert was also excellent, even though I normally don't gravitate toward chocolate. The truffle added a really unique finishing touch. We also received a white chocolate mini dessert to celebrate our anniversary, which was amazing. Yes, the meal costs an arm and a leg, but it was absolutely worth it. At the end, they give you a sleeve to hold all the postcards from the meal so you can remember the experience. Even the bathroom had Le Labo Santal 26 candles burning, which is one of my favorite scents. The staff were incredible and tried to remember little personal details about guests while chatting with us throughout the meal. The service was top notch and the execution of every dish felt meticulous. This was truly one of my favorite meals of all time.

Went to celebrate engagement and birthday! Seated in the middle of the upstairs bar. The staff were friendly with incredible service. Started off with a milk punch and then got into the courses. Mushroom course was by far the favorite with so much umami and textures. First two star michelin experience and so glad I was able to snag the reservation! Honestly recommend the non-alcoholic pairing! We tried both alcoholic and non-alcoholic between the two of us and the non-alcoholic felt more complex and nicer on the palate

Overview: My husband came here as a gift to each other for Christmas, and man did it DELIVER! It is definitely worth the hype and I would love to come back one day. Yes, it's expensive, so coming here for special occasion is the way to go. The ambience was great, the service was terrific, and the food was SOOOO good. I honestly loved all the courses, there was not one thing I didn't like about the meal. My favorite course was the lobster for sure. Overall, we had an amazing experience and definitely will come back! I would say this is my favorite restaurants I've been too in the USA. What was ordered: Set course menu & wine pairing Stand outs: Mussel bun, Nuruk (Kohlrabi, king crab, Kristal caviar), Korean-Chinese Cuisine (Abalone, pomegranate, red cabbage), The Flavor of Fermentation (Lobster, nurd, gochujang), Scent of Korea (Lamb saddle, rye & doenjang, black truffle) Tea of Korea ( Passion fruit, white lotus tea, tapioca) Would I come back/recommend: Yes - I would come back Yes - I would DEFINITELY recommend

Food 4/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Value 3.5/5 Atomix is currently ranked as the #1 restaurant in North America and #12 in the world for 2025. After a long wait to secure a reservation, we finally experienced their intimate chef's table. At $1.1k for two, the cost is a major consideration, while it was a deeply memorable and intimate experience, I'm not certain the flavor to value ratio beats other top tier tasting menus like JUA and Jungsik. Tasting menu as of 12/2025: Pumpkin & Cinnamon Sikhye -- 4.25/5 A warm, welcoming start. Sweet, comforting, and perfect for the holiday season. Horse Mackerel -- 4.25/5 Solid execution with great crunch and texture Langoustine -- 4.5/5 A mouthful of deliciousness. Slight earthy aroma, but the flavors worked well Fried Bun with Monkfish & Caviar -- 4.75/5 Our favorite among the starters--rich, indulgent, and bursting with flavor Mains Yellowtail, Sweet Bean, Squash, Macadamia -- 4.25/5 On its own, the yellowtail wasn't standout, but paired with the squash, the dish completely transformed into a bold, flavorful bite Monkfish Liver -- 4.25/5 Very rich and nourishing. Not the most exciting dish, but if you love foie gras, this would be an exceptional bite Kohlrabi & King Crab -- 4.75/5 Luxurious and comforting. A great palate cleanser--reminded my husband of a childhood dish his grandparents used to make Abalone -- 5/5 One of my favorites. I usually don't enjoy abalone, but the texture and preparation here were flawless Golden Eye Snapper -- 4.5/5 The snapper was lovely, but the real star was the perfectly cooked mussel Lobster -- 5/5 My absolute fave of the night, and possibly one of the best lobsters I've ever had. Perfect texture, and the rice pairing was outstanding Lamb -- 3/5 Our least favorite. Very gamey, including the lamb noodle soup that paired with this--may appeal to some, but not for us Passion Fruit Bingsoo -- 5/5 Our absolute favorite dessert. The tartness from the passion fruit paired so so well with the Earl Grey-infused bingsoo, and the cream at the bottom tied everything together. We enjoyed every bite and honestly wanted more Rice Ice Cream -- 4/5 This leaned into the savory-sweet profile they described, a more traditional dessert. Well executed, but not quite our personal taste preference. Second Date Drink -- 4.75/5 Surprisingly refreshing and delicious. The makgeolli worked well, but the elderflower really stood out To end the experience, they send you home with customized chopsticks and postcards detailing each dish's ingredients and story, a thoughtful and memorable touch.

Had an amazing time celebrating my birthday at Atomix trying their winter menu!! Service and staff was superb and friendly. The staff gave us amazing non-alcoholic drink recommendations. Every dish felt intentional and creative. I very much enjoyed the little cards they gave us along with every plate that described the story behind each dish. I felt that it gave me even more appreciation for each bite! The restaurant has an unassuming entrance and you went down a staircase before reaching the cozy seating area but I felt that there was something whimsy about the whole experience haha. It's hard to find upscale restaurants that are worth their hefty price tags but I definitely enjoyed my time at Atomix and would recommend for anyone looking to try a one of a kind menu.

I was finally able to snag an Atomix resy after 2 years of trying. And luckily it was for my birthday weekend! The meal lived up to ALL the hype. Service was perfect, food was all so fresh, creative, and flavorful, and the wine pairing was fantastic. This will truly go down as a top meal of my lifetime and I can't wait to go back again sometime if I can get another resy.

My boyfriend got a reservation for us at the bar tasting menu which every dish is paired with a drink. We were really looking forward to this. However, it didn't meet our expectations. They opened their doors close to your reservation time, therefore you shouldn't arrive early. They take your coats and bags if wanted. They also provide a bag rack next to your seat since you can't hang it on their chairs. By the way their chairs are not comfortable. They are upholstered chairs so it hits the mid range of your body. I wonder if the chairs in the counter tasting menu section are more comfortable. The servers, chefs, and staff are friendly, but I definitely noticed how hard they tried to connect with the customers next to us. We were in the middle so maybe they couldn't reach over to us and chat it up. They would go to both ends of the counter to speak to the customers. I thought it was interesting how you couldn't really see what the chefs were doing behind the counter. Either they were facing the opposite side working on the other counter or if they were to make certain things in front of us the counter was higher than the chef table so you would have to lean over to see what they were doing. I enjoyed the appetizers: barley bread, gizzard shard, gumtae buggak, mulhwe and the dessert: sorrel leaf, Korean pear, preserved fig, and white chocolate. Their yuzu drinks and other variety of cocktails were good and paired nicely with the dishes. They also give you a drink menu, which you can add on drinks before and after the meal. I honestly think you don't need to get additional cocktails since the tasting menu is already paired with drinks anyways. To sum it up, Atomix didn't deliver innovative dishes. My boyfriend and I left disappointed in the overall dining experience. They only have 6 seats for the bar tasting menu and 16 seats for the counter tasting menu. I see why it's hard to get a reservation here. If you have never been to a Korean Michelin star restaurant before, then this could be a spot to check out if you don't mind the price point. However, if you have been to other restaurants like Jungsik, Jua, Kochi, Oiji Mi, then you can skip this spot. I would give Atomix 3.5 stars based on my overall experience.

We've gone here 2x now, once in 2021, and again just this past weekend. What I remember from my experience in 2021 was that the food was really good, but I also can't remember any of the dishes we had when we ate there. My husband really wanted to try it again though, that's how good it was a few years ago. We went back when it had 2 Michelin stars, and it still has 2 Michelin stars. It's also on the NY Times 100 Best Restaurants List for 2025. I would say that the food was still really good this time around, and everything is nicely presented. No dish was bad per se, either. However, I think the restaurant could improve a little bit. For my husband and I, even a day later, we couldn't recall single a dish and tell you what was in it. There are so many ingredients or components to a dish, or the dish is so unique, that you kind of forget what it is. And therefore, every dish, although delicious, kind of becomes forgotten unfortunately. Even though they used specialty ingredients, like truffle, caviar, etc., it got kind of forgotten. Which is a huge bummer, because typically you'd like to remember having those specialty ingredients that are so expensive!! There was no iconic dish either. I think having an iconic dish helps people get excited about the meal, and also remember the meal overall. For instance, at Osterie Francescana in Modena, Italy, "Oops I Dropped the Lemon Tart" is the iconic dish. What I will say is that the service at Atomix was incredible. They first said, "Welcome back" remembering that we had dined their prior, even though it was a few years ago. The service this time was more memorable. We had Virgil, Arnee, and Sam. All were extremely personable, chatting with us throughout the meal about random things, and mostly ours/their food journeys and travels. I really appreciated that they were so personable. I can actually better recall the exact conversations we had with them, and their great personalities, over the food. Overall, my husband and I had a wonderful experience. Having gone twice now though, I'm not sure if we'd want to go back.

Finally made it to Atomix Bar Tasting after years of stalking reservations and it somehow exceeded every hope I had. One of the best meals I've ever had. Genuinely thrilling. The energy at the bar is so fun and intimate. Our chefs were lovely, the drinks were stunning, and the bartender was a full-on cocktail genius. We split the cocktail and NA pairings and both were incredible. Super creative, thoughtful, and perfectly matched to each course. Started with steamed barley bread with whipped soy and omija. I can't even call it bread. It was like a muffin had a love child with a cloud. Warm, salty-sweet, and just unreal. The langoustine was exactly as I remembered. Poached in maeuntang broth with chrysanthemum. Delicate, floral, deeply savory. Still can't get over it. The Iberico maekjeok with golden queen rice and oyster mushrooms was rich, meaty, and comforting in that deeply Korean way. Mushroom rice on the bottom soaked up every bit of sauce. I felt emotional. The sardine milk toast with gochujang tomato was also a sleeper hit. Funky, creamy, weird in the best way. Every course had this kind of quiet complexity where you're tasting layers but nothing feels fussy. The dessert was wild. Sweet rice ice cream, mugwort tea cake, red bean, and millet. Herbal and earthy and somehow refreshing. Service was thoughtful without being stiff. Pacing was perfect. No notes. Just go. Worth every waitlist click.

I'm down the middle on this one. On one hand, spectacular service and ambiance. The restaurant is gorgeous and welcoming. At the time, we were late to our reservation because a flash flood happened across 25th and we got stuck behind a man emergency service barricade and then had to run 5 blocks in torrential rain, and Atomix held our spot for us. It was incredibly kind and thoughtful. They even gave us time to get dry and comfortable again. I know how it can be at these types of restaurants where every plate is coordinated and timed, and we really threw a wrench in that, that the entire restaurant just effortlessly pivoted around. The staff took time to explain each dish and helped coordinate the wines with the food. The champagne list was incredible. Here's where I'm on the fence: the food. I just was expecting a lot and while the presentations were beautiful, the experience mesmerizing, the taste just wasn't delivering. I went in hoping for an experience similar to Soseoul Hannam, which just received its own Michelin star for its new approach to traditional Korean fare; and I left Atomix craving Soseoul. There wasn't anything particularly bad, just nothing felt memorable. To sum up, I walked away from Atomix telling people how amazing the staff and service is, but I didn't talk much about the food.

Approximately how long is the Chef's tasting dinner?

    Seatings are 2.5 hours

What time do reservations release on tock?

3 pm EST on the first day of the month

How do I actually get a reservation here - it seems like I am competing against bots?

They use the app Tock. You'll have to either pay a deposit for the booths in the bar area, or pre-pay for Chef's counter. The bar had five seats and accepts walk-ins.

What is the cost for the tasting menu?

$205 per person, pre-paid. Plus the cost of any extras like white truffle. More if you do the wine paring.

Is gratuity included in the prepaid reservation? What about the wine pairing add on?

Gratuity and tax are included on the prepaid reservation. Wine pairing and any alcohol are paid for separately after you finish eating.

How far in advance are reservations released?

They open their reservations monthly on the first of each month at 3pm. I had issues grabbing one even though I was ready at 2:58.

I want to bring some friends for my birthday but two are vegetarian. Would that be ok? They eat fish and dairy just not meat. Thanks.

The courses are preset, so they are unable to accommodate vegetarian, vegan. Allium, dairy, fish or soy restrictions

Is there a dress code for men? What do guys usually wear there?

Hi Laura, there is no dress code. Everyone is welcomed there. Hope you enjoy your experience as much as I did!

Their menu leans into fusion dishes with a nod to some of the classic home-style classics. Everything is presented with a refined, elevated touch. Here's what we ordered: ~ Tako Wasabi - 5/5 stars A fiery delight. This appetizer feartures chopped raw octopus marinated in wasabi. It has a lively zest from the wasabi and is topped with tobiko, which adds a pleasant contrast in texture. ~ Honey Makgeolli - 4/5 stars A traditional fermented Korean beverage that is light and pairs brilliantly with your meal. It is a cloudy alcholoic drink served in a metal teapot, and surprisingly, there is much more in that teapot than you would expect. It easily provides six to eight generous pours. The flavor is subtly sweet with a pleasant tang. ~ Temaki Set - 4/5 stars You can order a set of three by choosing from selections 1-17, or you can order a la carte at the listed prices. Some of the temaki stood out more than others. Our two sets included marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy bluefin, and two dynamite temaki. ~ Spicky Pork Ssam Set - 5/5 stars Truly another standout entree that even surpassed my beloved grilled BBQ bossam. You received a generous basket of assorte greens, including romaine, kale, perilla leaves, dandelion leaves, nappa cabbage, and more. It is well worth the price and makes for a fun, interactive dining experience with your family and friends. Nice accompaniment to the heavier dishes. -KFC: pretty standard for Korean fried chicken, but enjoyed. -Kimchi Pancake: I couldn't really taste the cheese, but this was good and I'd order again. Great to share. -Grilled Bulgogi: flavorful, lean. Would order again. -Spicy Grilled Pork Japchae: this was our least favorite dish. Not sure if something was off in the kitchen, but this didn't taste like japchae at all. We didn't finish and I wouldn't order again.

Fried slice of potato that isnt super oily and greasy with parmesan shavings and scallion toppings paired with truffle aioli. The bite was heavenly, i could easily finish one plate all by myself. Hojok galbi -- very tender with sauce thats not too overpowering, imo was on the lighter side and not too sweet. Loved that the dish also came with some greens and had a sweet and tangy dressing that also paired nicely with the galbi. Perilla oil noodles -- also very delicious, i personally rlly like the flavor of perilla seeds. I thought the noodles were cooked perfectly, im not the biggest fan of buckwheat noodles, but these noodles didnt stick together and was slightly on the harder side vs very chewy and sticky. I thought the dish would be spicy but surprisingly there was little to no spice. I thought this dish was so light and delicious. I know buckwheat noodles are meant to be eaten cold, but i wish it was served warm. Def coming back here again and reordering all 3 but also trying some of the other dishes; these were enough for a party of 3. Make sure to make a resy, it can get busy!

We walked into a stylish but relaxed space that feels suited for both casual dinners and a night out with friends, with an atmosphere that balances energy and comfort well. The room gets lively when it fills up, but the noise level adds to the experience rather than detracting from it, making it feel like a place built for sharing and conversation. The food is where Hojokban stands out. The complimentary banchan sets the tone for the meal with flavorful sides that add variety before the main dishes arrive, each one thoughtfully prepared and offering a different texture or flavor profile. The gomtang soup is one of the more comforting options, bringing together tender meat, a rich broth, and classic Korean flavors in a way that feels hearty without being overly heavy. The galbi dishes are also a highlight, with the meat cooked well and carrying the sweet and savory balance that makes Korean-style grilled beef so enjoyable. The portions are generous, and the quality of the ingredients is noticeable across the board. The menu has several unique dishes worth exploring. The truffle potato pancake is one of the more memorable items, combining a familiar Korean staple with a richer, modern twist that adds depth without losing the essence of the original. The perilla oil noodles are another standout, offering a lighter but still flavorful option with a distinct nutty aroma that lingers on the palate. The beef tartare adds a more refined element to the meal, fresh and well seasoned, while dishes like the ramyun fried rice bring a fun comfort food element with bold, savory flavors. Together, the menu covers enough ground that you can build a meal around both familiar favorites and more creative choices. Service is friendly and the overall experience feels welcoming rather than overly formal. The staff are attentive without hovering, and they handle the busy flow of the restaurant with a pace that keeps the meal moving without feeling rushed. The menu is designed for sharing, and the portions make it easy to order several dishes across the table, allowing you to try more of what the kitchen has to offer. The lively atmosphere adds to the meal, making it a good fit for group dinners where the energy of the room matches the pace of the food. Hojokban does a good job blending traditional Korean flavors with a more modern dining experience. It is a place where you can come for familiar comfort food while still finding dishes that feel creative and different. If you enjoy Korean cuisine and want a restaurant with a little more personality, this is a spot worth checking out. It delivers a meal that feels both familiar and fresh, striking a balance that makes it easy to return to and explore more of the menu.

Seafood Pancake: Great pick. Crispy on the outside and packed with seafood inside. Beef Belly & Mala Cream Noodle Soup: Loved this one. Udon with tender beef and baby octopus... so good!!! Spicy Braised Pork Rib Stew: Rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The highlight for me was the raw marinated crab. I spotted it on the wall menu and immediately had to order it. It's rare to find in the city! And honestly, this was way better than BCD's. So flavorful. Only complaint... the banchan portions are small and not a lot of variety. Other than that, I really enjoyed my meal and I'd definitely recommend this spot.

The servers kept things moving but with very minimal interference and no extra visits; we would have liked a little more attention when we finished some of the banchan and kind of expected they would be replenished, but we certainly were fine without it. And the entrees were delicious and even with other tables almost on top of each other it never felt crowded due to partitions that I saw them remove for some larger groups needing tables "together", and I never felt part of someone else's dinner convo. Presentation was amazing and food was delicious - Soon Tofu Soup with seafood for me, which arrived bubbling like a cauldron. It came with a raw egg that you crack into the soup and let it cook to your level of doneness. Hubs got hot stone bibimbap and as we all know the crispy rice is the best part of it... it's just tough to separate it from the actual stone dish so you can eat it, especially if you wait until it cools and fuses. If I was there with more stomach space I wanted to try the galbi, and in fact there's a weekday lunch combo that could facilitate that.
