Their online questionnaire asks too many personal questions that has nothing to do with treating me/patients and is sent/asked every time you have an appointment . DO NOT NEED TO DO THIS FOR EVERY APPOINTMENT GOING FORWARD ! Second : Never saw the doctor I wanted to see ( pay to see a BOARD CERTIFIED DOCTOR. NOT a NURSE PRACTIONER then BILLED for a DOCTOR. Nurse Practitioner NEVER mentioned anything " being wrong" with me or a concern and before I know it , I'm scheduled for all kinds of TESTS that I declined to have done because NOTHING was discussed with ME prior). When the Quincy location doesn't have appointments or I can't see my PCP team, i book over here in braintree. Plus, it has urgent care on weekends if needed. The space has open parking and lower side garage. Checkin is always quick, staff is always friendly. I go here to get my referrals quicker than waiting for a PCP appt. Urgent care is second floor, podiatry is first by checkin (pharmacy is next to checkin). Radiology and labs is further down on first floor. Internal medicine etc is also second floor. read more

I've been here 30+years, since pediatrics now, and it's honestly really gone downhill, which is sad. They don't know how to treat patients. I was at Braintree for decades but my PCP there wasn't great so I switched and this one doesn't seem much better. 75% of the time when I deal with these people I end up a stressful tearful mess, and that doesn't happen when I'm around kind-hearted individuals with good intentions. I don't know what's going on with Atrius, but bring back Harvard Vanguard and empathetic Patient Care. ...and none of this applies to Dr. Coskun (neurology). She's a good doctor who does her job wonderfully. Even though we don't always agree, she always listens and is always available. read more

Individual practices which have been swallowed up by Atrius health no longer care about their patients because they are having to follow the strict rules of Atrius health. For example, you can only get urgent care on the weekend. You can't even book an appointment or get help with prescriptions. read more

Receptionist Elise gave out medical advice to a patient, and when tomd she shouldn't do that she was incredibly rude.

It made me sad to see this rating. I could not actually believe the care they provided this week when I had one of my kids in a crisis. They saw my child through their lunch hour, moved appointments around to make time to see my child THAT DAY. The DO that we saw was excellent and called specialists, social work, and the primary care MD that my child normally sees (he was out that day) they also scheduled appropriate follow up and adjunct therapy appointments.In one fell swoop office visit... my child had 4 follow up appointments and other specialist appointments scheduled by the time we left. Can't say enough good about how well we were treated and cared for. read more

Shocked to see so many poor reviews. I've been a patient there for 30 +/- years and have had exceptional experiences. I think my first PCP was Dr. Helen Hunt (not the movie star), she was wonderful, thorough and LISTENED. She moved on, which can be expected form time to time. But my best experience was with Dr. Svetlana Shkuratov. She was my PCP for years. Never experienced someone so attentive, caring an smart. I was saddened to see her move into another department. But, as good fortune would have it I met Dr. Zywot who has been excellent. What I have discovered over the years is that as good as any medical facility and/or Doctor is, you need to be your own health care advocate. If you don't feel you're getting the the right care, attention or service...YOU NEED TO STEP UP AND SAY SOMETHING. They will listen! read more

Member here at Braintree for 30 years. The urgent care, regular office visits and phone nurses and staff are all wonderful. I see Dr. Souther and he is kind and smart. But all of the doctors and nurses have been great. I am very grateful to have this network of care providers that has all the specialists etc that I need. Would give zero stars- Brought my 8mo daughter to the Braintree location for an ongoing wet cough. She was tested for rsv in their office and I was given orders to administer Benadryl. I had concerns my baby had pneumonia due to her presentation and as I had just completed treatment for pneumonia. My concerns were not of importance to my daughter's care team. I left the office with my sick infant with a plan of care that was less than satisfactory. I was never notified of my daughter's rsv results. Benadryl has sedating effects and is contraindicated in infants. Her condition worsened and I made a new appointment for her. During this call exchange I inquired about her rsv results- they were unable to view or locate her results- at this point it had been days and the turn around is a day at most for this test. I was told they were negative however a test result was never actually made available in her my health account- my confidence in the accuracy of this result was slim. On her next visit I had to beg the physician for a chest x ray and further work up for pneumonia. I was met with resistance by the provider but he reluctantly ordered an x ray. I waited over 30 minutes with my sick child in an empty radiology office for the doctor to put our x ray order in. The radiologist apologizing as she could not help us until the dr put his orders in however he was in with another patient. On my drive home the doctor notified my husband and I that our baby did have pneumonia and he was prescribing antibiotics. My daughter's condition did not improve on the antibiotics he prescribed and we subsequently brought her back 1 day after completing her antibiotic course. The nurse practitioner was less than helpful, condescending and told me to "calm down" when expressing fear for my daughter's condition. She kept stating she would not order another chest x ray- to be clear I never asked for another chest x ray my concern was my daughter was still very ill and needed further treatment for a pneumonia that had not cleared. She tried to send us home stating this was a virus. Only after further discussion about my dissatisfaction with her care did we receive a new prescription for a different antibiotic. My daughter's condition finally improved on the second antibiotic. Do not bring your child here. We have since switched practices for our baby. I highly recommend south shore medical center pediatrics for more compassionate patient centered care. read more

Extremely incompetent staff. They messed up two different lab tests on two different occasions at two locations in the same week! I had to go back to get the test re-done with the first incident. I decided to go elsewhere after the second incident as I lost confidence in their ability to do their job. If I receive bills for these tests that were never performed, I will lose my . My sons MD is great but I'm commenting on wait time. The last 2x we were here, we had to wait soooo LONG for his shots. After 15-20 minutes both times we had to get out of the room to get some attention. This time I stayed outside due to COVID only one parent is allowed in. I waited and waited, I noticed all the people that came in after us LEFT before us. MOMENTS LATER, I can see from the waiting room that my husband open the door, and someone said, "oh, you are waiting for a shot?" I know it's busy but our time are precious too. Please take into consideration re: waiting time for patients. Or at least check in on people who are waiting for 15+ minutes!! read more

Had a fever for 7 days straight they did a work up X-rays blood work etc sent me home said alternate Motrin Tylenol if I still have a few more days come back which I did on both parts and than did Same shit said come back if I still have in a few days sent me on my way mind you fevers was 101.3-103.3 said it was bad virus nothing given later that night my oxygen level dropped to 91% called the oncall told me to go to er so called ambulance to brought me to B I MILTON where my 02 sat continue to drop down to the 80s to the point I was medically induced to a coma for 1.5 months the drs said if I caught this stuff a week earlier I most likely didn't need to endure everything I did and now have medical issues for LIFE... read more

This place gets two stars because of its location and the medical assistants. I only come here for pediatrics and they are ok for routine visits, nothing spectacular but there generally isn't a long wait. I find the nurse practitioners and doctors are not so great for urgent care. My daughter was incredibly sick and was running a fever of 103.2. I brought her in and she gave me treatment instructions. Fine. But no diagnosis. I asked if she has the flu. She seemed confused and proceeded to ask if I cared if she had the flu and why. Why?! Seriously?! I said I want to know if she has the flu. She said treatment is the same. Like really?? If she has the flu, I know to make sure she doesn't give it to anyone else, like my 65 yr old mom. She goes, "Oh wow. You're really nice." If I didn't want answers or a diagnosis, I would have just stayed home. We love to pay yall only to tell me to give my kid fluid and motrin with no explanation why. I've had to bring other people here so this is my review for that. Both times I've had to bring others here, they were completely taken care of and quickly. Recently I asked the receptionist if they had a place I could buy coffee and she said no but she asked me how I liked it and she went somewhere and got it. An hour or two later as Im sitting there waiting for my husband to come out, a man who worked behind another counter came out and gave me a bottled water. My husband was seen quickly, he had several tests done, we were able to get a prescription right there, I his wife had a coffee and a water while waiting for him - so I think this place does a pretty good job! read more

I am posting a one star review update not because I'm dissatisfied at all, but am incensed that HVMA, as of this month, will no longer accept the Tufts insurance plan for individuals. This means that my adult son, who has been a patient here since birth, now must endure the upheaval of finding a new PCP and dermatologist within the same type of all-encompassing setting. I have suggested South Shore Medical Center in Norwell or Quincy for him. Bad move on the part of Atrius Health to pull the rug out from so many loyal longtime patients. read more

This place has declined over the last few years. It used to be great but now, they aren't worth half a star. They do not keep proper records, the front desk staff is incompetent, and the NP's are extremely rude. They don't even bother checking your records prior to your appointment so during the appointment, you waste time answering questions about medical history that have been documented over and over. One NP told me, I didn't have x-rays done there before even though i have had back paid since I was a child, and have had several x-rays done at that location. God forbid she look thru my medical records. Getting a followup after an office visit is like pulling teeth....you have to call over and over to get your results and if the clinician you seen happens to be out, it will take an act of God. read more

The Harvard vanguard Braintree location is pretty good overall. Pretty good service. Nice doctors, nurses etc. Their pharmacy is top notch, they get everything right and they will even substitute a generic cuz some of those generics you can get are bogus, some even filler ingredients r not xactly the kind of stuff you want in your body, think zantac - cancer Chemicals or valsartan. read more

For an urgent care location on the weekend, I was seen pretty fast. The check - in process was speedy, and the receptionist was a very nice. I only waited a few minutes to be seen by the nurse first, then the doctor. There was just one issue, but nothing major. I was there for an eye issue and somehow it said on my log in record arm issue. I did tell the nurse the correct reason. She did apologize and made sure I was the correct patient. The doctor I saw was so nice and he made me feel comfortable. He gave me some good tips about caring for my eye and suggested it was that time to make an eye doctor appointment. Overall, I like HVMA they have amazing hours and they always make sure you get seen ASAP! read more

I had a baby (as I'm sure people have noticed) finding a pediatrician is not an easy task. You want someone who knows their medicine, has a good bedside manner. Someone you feel comfortable talking to, and especially for us someone who wouldn't medicate our son for every little thing. Dr Peter Barrant at the Braintree office is great. Besides the fact that they have a 24 hour urgent care line where they always get back to you promptly with helpful information (and not just "take him to the hospital"). Dr Barrant is wonderful with our 4 month old son. Thorough but gentle. We feel very comfortable talking to him and he listens to any questions or concerns we may have. He does not just give antibiotics for every little cold, plus he doesn't get alarmed or worried. Babies get sick, he knows that. But he does usually remind me that while the baby is fine it's worse on the mama. With their online system we can also request that they call in prescriptions, set up appointments and leave notes to have someone contact us when we have a question. And if the baby is sick they will always make sure we can bring him in to be seen that day. read more

I was humiliated by my dr today. She was completely condescending and rude when I questioned anything she was saying I was abruptly cut off .. Not to mention I was left on the table with a spec still in me during my Pap smear when she couldn't find something that she needed for it. I have been here for more than one doctor because they like to keep everyone under the umbrella of Harvard vanguard care and the other people I have seen were also incredible rude I will not be returning for anything here other than urgent care until my insurance changes. read more

Those two ladies at the front desk are like the worst part of coming here, seriously. They both are unhelpful, one always has her voice cranked up to 11 and the other you can barely hear, and if you don't have every name, number, or other bit of info with you, they huff and puff and act like you might as well just leave. Except after giving you all that grief, they magically find the info in front of them already. We were over-billed on a couple of visits and they never were able to give me the same dollar amount twice when I asked about the credit on our account. Eventually they sent a check, but what do you think the chances are that I'd be able to wait till they figured out what I actually owed them, and then sent a check to pay for it? I received really good medical care in the Urgent Care with Nurse Practitioner Susie. The building was clean, the reading material sort of bland, the staff pretty on top of things. I only really waited about fifteen minutes after the building opened, I signed in, I traveled to the third floor, and sat down, before I was called for my noon appointment. The downgrading in stars is because after my appointment, I walked around the plaza and came back to the Harvard Vanguard parking lot see a tubby chubby pitbull in a silver Honda Civic with the window cracked about two inches. On a beautiful hot enjoyable day. I call the police after looking around doesn't yield the owner. While I'm on the phone with them, a woman comes out of the building, saying that she's the owner, she thanks me for looking out for her dog, introduces herself as "Terry" and then gives him water. If she's allowed to bring her dog to work, as she says, why is the little meatball in the car? If she really works for the clinic, why is the poor thing in the car, and why is a medical clinic allowing a pet into the car. She also took up two spots and couldn't be bothered to care for her pet. I'm seriously leery of this places credentials if this was indeed the case. read more

I absolutely love them but I had the misfortune of finding out that my important documents were being sent to another address for a while. Needless to say I was completely upset besides the fact that this is a massive HIPAA violation when I call to have the error fixed they in so many words said that they were not going to fix it.. I have been a patient with HVMA for over 10 years, first with the Back Bay location, then Kenmore (loved it) and now with Braintree. I love this place! My whole family goes there. I never really had a problem with the wait time, although it has happened. It doesn't bother me to wait because I have been late and they have seen me. I have everything i need in one place. They have pediatrics, primary cares, GYNs, vision, radiology, labs pharmacy, behavioral health and some locations even offer accupunture! I always get advise when I call them, and they also follow up to check how you are doing if you are sick. Having access to online records and physicals is the best. I can e-mail my doc for advise and always get a quick reply. read more

Impossible to get prescriptions refilled without the hassle of your life. I have to call my ins. company, then call Internal Medicene at Braintree-Harvard. Then I am usually on hold for a half hour. They treat you like dirt and love to make you jump through hoops. read more

It has been 7 days since I was administered the COVID 19 Test and I have STILL not received my results, and nobody has been in contact. I am sick and scared and whenever I call, the response I get is that this is "standard". In new york, tests are coming back in 48 hours. Why is it taking over a week in Massachusetts? Even though the Atrius Health website clearly states whos available for a Covid Test, even as a long time patient, they still denied me (over the phone through the internal medicine dept.) the opportunity of a test although I met the criteria set in their own website. This place epitomizes everything that is wrong with the health care system. The people are rude, the doctor's are fast to get past you, communication is incredibly poor. I actually got a surgery referral from a doctor that never told me he'd referred me, and it was for something I never complained about. Yet, they insisted I was in pain and needed surgery. Turns out, upon a second opinion, the issue was NOT with my neck, but with my ulnar nerve. This has been going on for nearly two years. An incredible waste of time being a part of this ridiculous Atrius network. I've since changed my PCP. Stay away from this horrible hack house. read more

The medical care here is just OK. The reason I'm giving it two stars is because of the horrendously long wait times and the screwy billing. I fractured my foot, and though they were able to get me in that morning, during subsequent visits, I experienced wait times of an hour or more. One one occasion, I scheduled a 4pm appointment and was not seen until 5:15. The office staff was packing up to go home before I was even seen. When I complained, they told me that "Mondays are a REALLY bad day to schedule appointments". Well, someone should have told me that BEFORE scheduling me on a Monday! On three occasions, I was billed for co-pays that I should not have been billed for. I've made numerous phone calls to the billing department, was put on hold, had to have my "case" reviewed and jumped through more hoops than I should have had to. I think that this office takes on more patients than they have the capacity to care for. I will be looking for a new doctor. read more

I've been going here since I was a kid, but not anymore. I will be looking for a new doctor this weekend. Reason being: Harvard refuses to give referrals to see specialists outside their network. I called to make an appointment to see a dermatologist and was told they did not have any appointments for a month and a half! I then called a nearby dermatologist and got an appointment within one week. When I called my primary care doctor to ask for a referral I was told NO. They never give referrals outside their network. Well I now go elsewhere for dermatology and pay out of pocket since they would not give me the referral. I have insurance which would cover the cost, that I cannot use. It's disgusting that Harvard can do this to people. It's my insurance and my health. Who are they to deny me the option of seeing the specialist of my choosing? Especially since there was over a month wait to even get an appointment with their own specialists! I am now switching primary care doctors. I won't be back. read more

The urgent care doctors do not listen to what you have to say. I've been a granite medical patient for 20 years and since they merged with atrius care is sub-par. Went in for an serious issue and was told "that's not my specialty sorry, good luck" all within 3 minutes! Dr. DeMatteo Did not listen to my concerns about recent events, just sorry.
