The urgent care doctors do not listen to what you have to say. I've been a granite medical patient for 20 years and since they merged with atrius care is sub-par. This is for the Behavioral Health dept's scheduling. They used to be great. I've been going to them for about 8-10 years. Now, I've had to switch doctors twice because my doctors left me unmedicated for weeks (I had an adverse reaction to new medication and couldn't continue taking it) with no response to calls and or messages via MyHealth. And twice more because my doctors left the practice completely. Now they refuse to medicate me for one of my symptoms unless I get tested which is fine. Only problem is that I scheduled an appt back in November and they have rescheduled me 3 times already. They now have me pushed back until June 2017. Both times I asked for a reason was that the only doctor who does it recently changed his schedule (again?!). I'm usually pretty patient. 3 different doctors reschedule me twice each in the recent past but it was no later than 1 month that I had to wait to see someone. 7 months is absurd, and with the trend, they'll keep pushing back the appt. My primary is great, my allergist is great, pretty much every other doctor or specialist I've had has been great. What is going on with their BH dept?! read more

I'm a new patient to Harvard Vanguard because my other doctor was just not working, schedule wise. My sister is a patient here and referred me to this place. It's very convenient since I live in Braintree and it's just a few minutes away from home. I called to register as a new patient on the phone as well as schedule an appointment and it was easy. The woman on the phone that registered me was very nice and took her time. I was then transferred to someone else to schedule the appointment which was also quick and easy. The only available appointment they had was at 540pm in urgent care. My sister came with me since I didn't know how to get there but it was incredibly easy. I went in, signed in and went upstairs to wait in their waiting area. It's definitely a better looking place compared to the other places I've been to. It looked like a hospital to be honest. Waiting took longer than I had originally expected but that's the same no matter where you go. I was seen at about 630pm and the nurse and doctor were both very nice and friendly. After my appointment, I was told there was a pharmacy downstairs and proceeded to get my medicine there. All in all, it's a great place, very clean and again it's the best looking doctors office I've ever been to. read more

I have been going to the Braintree Practice for 15+ years now and absolutely love the professionalism of the staff and the cleanliness of the building. There have been times I have needed an x-ray, lab, and prescription in addition to seeing my primary care physician. I was able to get this done without leaving the building. I have had Ross Reel for my primary care physician for the entire time I have been going to this practice and have nothing bad to say. In addition, when I could not see him due to scheduling conflicts, NP's Alona Rotkovich and Jean Donohue have been awesome! And the urgent care center, just wow! Extremely rude staff! If you don't like what you do, quit your job! The pediatrics department is the worst. They didn't make my daughter feel at ease at all after she had gone through a painful procedure! You're working with children; maybe try to have some bedside manner. Everyone I've seen at different Harvard Vanguard locations has been rude and useless. They just wanted my money and then they would forward me to another doctor to get more money out of me. Dr, Patrick Bessette. O.D. (optometrist) Braintree Put drops in my eyes, put more drops in my eyes and still more. Instead of just putting them in once and then sending me out to the waiting room for 15 or 20 minutes to wait for my eyes to dilate, which was my usual experience for years in the past. He immediately examined my eyes. Did not lift my lids for the examination. Luckily I had a ride home because even with sunglasses on, when I left the office the sun was blinding and I had to cover my eyes. My eyes were shut all the way home and I stayed in a dark room for at least 3 hours after I arrived home. I have never had anything like that happen to me before. Stay away from this man. read more

I downloaded the yelp app just to post this review. They get 0 stars (I posted 1 because it was required) This facility is horrible. I have taken my child there 3 times for a cough that has lasted well over 2 months now and their recommendation has been the same each time. Obviously I have followed your recommendations and they haven't worked so let's try something else please. I requested that I wanted a doctor to call me personally, they had a nurse call me again to relay the news. It's highly disappointing consider my daughter has been with Harvard Vanguard since birth. She's now 11. Fortunately for me the first 10 years were with the chelmsford location, which was an amazing wonderful place. I will never take my child here again. If you're looking for a pediatrician do yourself a favor and skip this place. read more

Went to urgent care tonight and was given two prescriptions that were supposed to be filled at their pharmacy right then. I went to get the prescriptions and only one was given to me. I showed the pharmacist the paperwork from the dr clearly stating it was for two prescriptions. She had to ask about 5 people to get an answer. At this point it was 8:07pm, 7 minutes after closing. I was in an extreme amount of pain and the nurses told me it couldn't be filled until the morning. Something about not being able to sign into the "system." Ridiculous! They didn't care. There was no solution offered and they let me just leave. All I could think was "what if this was my child that needed medication?" Wow! Horrible and inconvenient. read more

Had a fever of 102 and really bad neck pain dr, suggested I just pulled a muscle and should put ice on it. Asked about the fever he suggested it was nothing went home the fever rose to 103.5 and pain got worse end up in the ER with severe strep throat great job doc. read more

My husband and I have been going to the Braintree HVMA for over 35 years and love it there for many reasons: Parking is easy, the check-in and other staff are professional and polite, Urgent Care has always been available when needed, the lab and X-ray and other needed services are close by in the same building, there is normally very little wait time, and every area is bright and clean and comfortable. But the major reason is that we have both been able to have the same excellent PCP, Dr. George Holmes, for all that time. So even though it is about a half hour from home (and much longer in high traffic times) we have never considered changing to somewhere closer to home. We have always been able to get an appt. quickly when needed, even that very day in Urgent Care if not in our PCP's office, and we've never left feeling we weren't heard and well cared for. We've been referred out of network a few times over the years, once at my insistence after I learned the rheumatologist had been misdiagnosing my auto immune disorder for five years. But apart from and despite that one doctor many years ago (no longer there) we've been very blessed by having HVMA in Braintree and give them five stars with no reservation! read more

II had cold and went there. One staff measured my blood, temperature and weight. She was very rude. Later doctor came in and measured everything again because the women did everything wrong. How could they hire people like that? How can I trust that place? read more

I had my right hip replaced by dr. James Phillips. I have no problem with his surgical skills but I have a lot of problem with his lack of bedside manner. When I met with him in his office he took less than 60 seconds to tell me I needed a new hip. The day of the surgery he came in to me didn't say a word had me sign a consent form and sign my right hip and never explained anything about what I could have expected after the surgery. After the surgery he never came to the recovery room to see me nor did he call me in the hospital in the two days after the surgery. I certainly understand he is a very busy man but just a phone call to me in the hospital would have meant a lot. I was very hurt and very let down. When I went for my post-surgical appointment 2 weeks after the surgery he again spent less than 90 seconds with me and that time was spent in taking the stitches out. Again, I'm sure he's a fine surgeon but if you're looking for any reassurance as I was very scared or any bedside manner he's not the one for you. Soon I will have my left hip replaced. I will not have him do it nor will I go to Harvard Vanguard again. read more

My doctor is Thomas Issac and I have also seen nurse practitioners. I haven't had to use urgent care yet so can't comment on that. Generally the appointments seem to be not too far away if you have the ability to be flexible. I also got referred to an ENT specialist in another Harvard Vanguard location in a pretty quick time frame. Getting an appointment with dermatology seems to take quite a while if there is nothing serious wrong with you. Overall the parking is right in front and and the staff is friendly for the most part. read more

Hands down worst pharmacy I have ever had to deal with. They never answer the phone when you call and when they do answer they hang up on you. I have tried numerous times to switch over my prescriptions to a different pharmacy (walgreens) and they dont answer for them either. When you go to pick up a prescription after finally getting it filled they give attitude and all of them are so miserable. I will be switch doctors completely because of this staff. read more

I saw a doctor here on my first visit for an urgent care appointment after an injury. The doctor I saw did not seem to understand that I had a medical condition (it was in my chart as I have been a patient of HVMA most of my life). Anyway, he was not listening when I explained why my injury was so bad due to my condition, at first refused to give me medication, and then telling me I'd be lucky to obtain it in less than a week anywhere and that he would not call it in to a pharmacy for me. After handing me a written script, he ended with "bet you want make that mistake again". Thankfully I switched my provider to the Kenmore office, got an immediate appointment where I was given respectful care and corrected the injury, and was also informed I had been prescribed and was taking 2x what I should have for my medicine (Yikes!)
