Well, I had to fly unexpectedly to Berkeley early Sunday morning (I live in NM) and on Monday my tooth was angry and not happy. I went to Dr. Barry Kami, who I found on the Internet because of reviews, and he informed me that I would need a root canal and that he would make a call to Dr. O'Callaghan to see if she could fit me in given the fact that I was traveling and unsure of how long I would be staying in CA. Dr. O'Callaghan saw me right away, put me on antibiotics and scheduled me for a root canal the very next day. I'm not going to lie, I was anxious. When I got there, she stepped me through a breathing technique that really helped me throughout the procedure. It was painless (once that shot was in) but even w the shot, she has a great technique (I needed one in the roof of my mouth). The best part of it was that they have a special technology called the Gentle Wave that literally flushes out the bacteria in your root canal. It's like a deep cleaning spa day for your tooth (and that poor tooth needed it!) . They put this apparatus around the tooth and then it just swirls water around the tooth and canal for about 5 min. It cuts down on complications and I truly believe them given the fact that I am 12 hours out from my procedure and have zero pain.

Dr Fujimura is a great dentist gentle, detailed and very kind man his staff is great too.read more

The dentist said it was time, at last. And it was feeling funky. Office staff were great, Dr Nealon explained what was going to happen at the consult with no sense of upselling; and during the procedure he exuded a casual professionalism and confidence as things progressed. His help was on top of things too. There was some pain for about 18hrs after, nothing that some high doses of IB couldn't handle. He even came in on a weekend to deal with a time-dependent touch up. Within a couple days everything seems back to normal. There are definitely things worse than a root canal.

I had heard many old horror stories, so was nervous, but was calmed by his explanations and reassurance. The office staff was polite and solicitous. I was more than pleasantly surprised that the experience was neither overly complicated nor painful. Thank you! Laurel de Wolf

I think it's normal for dentist offices to be slow, you should expect a wait anywhere and they serve a high number of patients. My appointment was at 9am and I finished X-rays and a cleaning at 10:45. They don't guarantee a cleaning at your first appointment but will try to fit you in the schedule. I was scared to go because of the reviews, but if you're kind and patient you can expect a good experience.

It's definitely worth a visit from the local health department. Several patients in the waiting area were coughing and my throat actually started burning after being inside just five minutes. 2. The waiting area is filthy. (I have photos.) It is not in good condition and it's apparent that it's not cleaned thoroughly. As a medical facility, this is unacceptable! The floor is disgusting. The area near the windows is covered in layers of dust and dirt. I don't believe they've ever cleaned their glass door. It's disgusting. I had an appointment at 8:00 am and to walk in as the first customer of the day to a dirty waiting room, is totally unacceptable. It's also proof that the facility wasn't thoroughly cleaned the day before. 3. They are never on time. I've had a wait even when I arrived 15 minutes early. This is unfortunate and clearly proves that they don't prioritize timeliness. 4. There are layers (literal layers) of dust and dirt on every blind. This is definitely not okay for patients that have respiratory problems or asthma. When was this facility last visited by the local health department? 5. I noticed many HIPAA violations by the front office staff. They openly discussed private patient info in front of a packed waiting room. This is unacceptable! According to their reviews, you can tell that my noticing isn't exaggerated. Do your due diligence and visit facilities before you make appointments. It's not okay to have to wait in an unsanitary space.

He made both my daughter and me feel informed, comfortable, and at ease throughout the whole process. The best way I can describe his presence is somewhere between Mr. Rogers and Bob Ross -- calm, kind, gentle, reassuring, and genuinely caring. You can immediately tell how incredibly knowledgeable and intelligent he is, yet what stands out even more is how humble he is. Even with all the Ivy League and elite schools he attended, there is absolutely no arrogance or bragging about him. He is deeply respectful, compassionate, and treats both his patients and staff with such kindness. His staff are also amazing -- very sweet, youthful in spirit, professional, and welcoming. Everyone there helps create such a peaceful and uplifting environment. Even the office itself reflects the care they put into everything. The bathroom and office are exceptionally clean, organized, and beautifully maintained. They also play such an eclectic variety of music that instantly helps calm your nerves and lift your spirit. What touched me the most was how Dr. Nealon cared for my daughter as though she were his own child. That level of sincerity and compassion means more than words can express. We truly appreciate Dr. Nealon and his staff, and are so grateful for the wonderful experience we had. May God continue to bless Dr. Nealon and his entire team abundantly. Thank you very much!
