I had to get a tooth pulled. I was referred by Albany Oral Surgery, a sister office to this group. Dr. Goo did an intake and found that did have to have it pulled. I decided to get an implant (instead of a bridge). Dr. Goo and 2 assistants helped with the operation. I paid extra for "Laughing Gas", and it was worth it. I laughed a lot. The team worked well together. Before the operation started I asked Dr. Goo and his 2 assistants if they believed in Guardian Anels. They nodded "yes". I asked if they would imagine our Guardian Angels working together for my highest good. The operation went very well...easy smeazy. Yesterday a few hours after the operation, a member of the staff called to check on me...very cool. Dr. Goo is a great communicator!!! He answered all my questions, and he worked well with his team! I highly recommend Dr. GOO, and his team at Bayside Oral Surgery for dental extractions.

Unorganized practice. I was scheduled to have my four wisdom teeth removed on Wednesday, April 19th but no one reached out beforehand to make sure I had the medication I needed to take before my extractions. I called Bayside on Thursday, April 13th because I had not heard anything from them and asked if I needed to pick up any medication. They told me they would send a prescription in for me. I was gone for the weekend but I called the pharmacy on Monday, April 17th to make sure my prescription was ready for pick up that day. The pharmacy told me they never received a prescription for me. I called Bayside again on Monday, April 17th and they had not sent the prescription to the pharmacy. They finally had someone place an order for the medication on Monday the 17th. Bayside either did not submit the order or it was submitted too late because the pharmacy was not able to fulfill my prescription that should have been ready for me to pick up on April 17th. I needed to start a mouthwash two days before my extractions and now I can no longer keep my scheduled appointment to remove my wisdom teeth (see picture of instructions). This could have been avoided if the person in charge of submitting prescriptions had done her job on Thursday, April 13th when I called. On top of this, I wrote on my initial consultation form that I had an allergic reaction to Oxycodone and Dr. Vu prescribed me a narcotic that contained similar ingredients even after I stated I did not want it. As he said, "It is what we usually give people". Such a shame, I had heard great things about this practice. Avoid this place and save yourself the headache. In response to Bayside's reply to my review: The pharmacy confirmed they never received a prescription on April 13th. They also allow up to two weeks for prescriptions to be picked up, so Bayside's response is incorrect about prescriptions being canceled after 48 hours. I have added a picture of my calls with Bayside from April 13th to April 17th. I did not refuse to talk to anyone. I missed their call and called back later that same day. As for the prescriptions prescribed to me, I have a voicemail from Bayside acknowledging that they prescribed me a narcotic that contained similar ingredients. Also, if Bayside's instructions are not meant to be followed word for word then Bayside should include that in the instructions. How am I supposed to know that they are recommendations if that is not mentioned? Bayside's office manager, Mercedes, reached out to me on April 18th. I appreciate her reaching out to talk to me about my review and experience at Bayside. She offered me a discount and asked what she could do so I would take down my review. She attempted to make things right but I was not interested in receiving any services at Bayside. Having a tooth extraction is a nerve-wracking procedure and feeling like I was not properly prepared for my surgery was a letdown. Like I told Mercedes maybe I was the exception but this was my experience at Bayside and I will not be taking down my review. I also attached an image of Bayside's original response to my review.

Dr. Krey is overall one of the best doctors I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Among his strengths, he has a calming demeanor, is knowledgeable, and has a way of explaining procedures simply. During my recent procedure, he kept me updated each step of the way which helped to keep me calm and feel that he did not just see me as "molar number 3". So rare to find a doctor that addresses not just the issue, but also the human! Note that this office has staff with these same qualities! After 27 years, my root canal tooth decided to give up. Upon seeing I was nervous, the very kind assistant Miya assured me and said, "It's okay, sometimes we outlive our teeth." What a beautiful way to phrase it! I believe her name was Claire, at the front desk, was very efficient with gathering foundational paperwork. Joseph worked on my insurance and also took the time to assure me that all was well. There is another gentleman, tall, black glasses that I have encountered in the past that took exceptional care of my 2 younger family members during and after their procedures, gave after care instructions and answered all questions. When one of the staff called me hours later after my procedure to ask about how I was doing, I was almost teary. Overall, this is the best office to never have to visit that often, and will take care of you not just as a patient, but also has a human. I do not have the words to truly say how much I appreciate Dr. Krey and his staff.

I've been going here for years and they always take great care :) (I'm super hard on my teeth and had a lot of work done!) Their free evaluation includes detailed X-rays and 3D high-res scans that show every detail and crack that might lead to future problems so you can take care of them before they get out of hand (and more expensive!) but they never push any work on you. always reasonable about what you can put off for later, get other quotes, etc. and if you need a crown they can mill them in-house so you don't have to come back another day! Pro tip: ask for a "bite block" to keep your mouth open so your jaw doesn't get sore, and some lip balm so your lips don't get chapped! I also go for only 1/4 shot of pain killer and I can't feel a thing and no numb mouth and cheek biting after! but most people might prefer 1/2 shot ;)

When you go back, they tell you they can repair it, but you'll have to pay a second time. That was my experience with Dr. Alex McDonald. I ended up being charged an additional $300 to have a hole that was left behind re-stitched because it had become impossible to clean properly. This was in their email response when I pushed back. "The courtesy adjustment of $1,516.40 was applied to the 3D scan, 1 hour of IV sedation, and the debridement of the lower right area. This was basically all at no charge." All of which I paid for on my intital visit. What was most concerning was that when I shared this experience with other dentists and mentioned his name, none of them seemed surprised

Long story short, my front tooth was failing from an injury almost 30 years. After getting assessed in an initial consult, getting second opinions, etc. I went with Dr. MacDonald and had the first part done almost 6 months after the initial consult, I chose that because of work obligations and my wife was getting a graduate degreee and I wanted to look ok in the pictures. I just had part 1) tooth removal in June, and his staff seemed to do a good job. I was put out and the process wasn't too painful, I filled prescriptions of antibiotics and painkillers that day. I coordinated with my dentist to get a temporary piece (or stayplate) a couple days after the intial procedure. So far good. My dental insurance from work covers a little bit of the expenses but the majority of dental insurances don't really cover it, they mainly do preventative care (cleanings and fillings). I had already put some into my FSA/HSA, unfortunately the timing of when I scheduled was after open-enrollment so I wish I had set aside more funds. Like I said, so far so good, and it's my front tooth so it'd be nice if it looked and felt good.
