Sam came in with a team of 7 guys and got all of the insulation in our 1500 Sqft attic vacuumed out, treated for mold, installed bats of insulation, and got some more vents in the roof including a solar powered fan. He helped us understand what we needed to do to get our attic working well and avoid future problems with mold and discomfort. They got everything done in 10 hours and it looks great! The only critique I have is I wish someone had mentioned ahead of time that we would need to get our young daughter out of the house during the mold treatment. Not a big deal but it did mean changing our plans for the day. The crew was great, no damage to the drywall that I can see and they even entered and exited through a window so they didn't track dirt through the house and we could leave our baby gate closed at the top of our stairs. It's 8pm and the Attic Crew has finally wrapped up their day. They got started just about 830am this morning. As strange as it might sound, you would never even know they were here, other than for a few pieces of insulation that escaped the clean up. My attic was in pretty rough shape. The insulation was most likely the original insulation from when it was blown in back in the 90's. Mice had made it quite the playground. There were burrows everywhere. Mice droppings were everywhere, not mention a few dead mice. Yuck!! I had the Attic Crew do an attic clean out, disinfect, air seal the attic and crawl space and blow in new insulation. For good measure, I also had them do a duct cleaning. NIck was my project manager and Sergio lead the onsite team of three. Upon arrival they got right to work. Rather than running everything THROUGH the house, they found an alternative solution. A upper floor bathroom window gave them access to the attic hatch, so they pulled the screen, setup the ladder and climbed up and down all day. Had they come through the house, they would have had to put plastic sheeting up through the entire house, which would have added HOURS to the project. Coming through the window, they only had to use plastic sheeting on 1/2 the bathroom and the walk-in closet. I was a little concerned that insulation dust would waft it's way into the rest of the house, but with the door closed and ceiling fans running, the dust was marginal. After the clean out, the crew air sealed the entire attic. They found the entrance points for the mice that made their home in my attic and sealed them up tight. As part of their service, Attic Crew includes a 2 year "rodent free" warranty. Sergio left a few traps in the attic and will come back in a few weeks to make sure there is no activity. I think what impressed me the most was how conscientious the whole crew was about taking care of my house. The simple act of picking up a piece of trash that could have easily been stepped over or left behind. Removing shoes every time someone would come inside. Using drop cloths to protect carpet and tile. They were even going to wrap up an ENORMOUS vacuum in canvas sheeting to be able to lift it up the stairs so it didn't mar the carpet. (We found an easier way to get it up stairs.). I will say that Attic Crew was not the cheapest company nor were they the most expensive. Of all the vendors that I had quote the project, Nick was the most professional, knowledgeable as well as personable. NIck was also one of the only vendors that actually followed up in a timely manner. (One vendor actually showed up in gym clothes as he had come directly from the gym.). All of the vendors that followed Nick, confirmed all of the items that NIck had pointed out on his visit. To wrap this up, if you are considering replacing your attic insulation due to a rodent problem, or simply want to increase the energy efficiency of your home, talk to Nick. We hired Attic Crew to clean our attic and crawl space, do mold remediation, put down a new vapor barrier, rodent-proof, vent our bathroom vents outside, and new insulation for the crawl space and attic. It was a big job that took 3 days and a whole team of people. Tom came out to do an estimate and we asked him a ton of questions and he stayed to answer all of them. On the day, Tony was our amazing team leader for the job. He and his crew kept everything very clean. Our corridors had plastic sheeting so that they could take all the old insulation and dirt outside without making the rest of our house dirty. They were polite, friendly and worked very hard to clean and rodent proof all the potential holes. Tony also informed us of a plumbing leak in the crawl space that would have been disastrous if it wasn't fixed. There was a strange smell (cloyingly sweet) after they cleaned the attic which took a few weeks to go away and drove me a little crazy. Attic Crew sent one of their guys to lend us a fan to put in the attic to try to dissipate the smell. One of the reasons why we chose Attic Crew was because they had a 3 year guarantee for their rodent-proofing. We can call them to come out at anytime to check the attic and crawl spaces for activity. That means we don't need to also pay for pest control. We have probably had 4 or so visits so far to check that everything is still clean. Alfredo was one of the guys who came to check on the work and he is super nice and also meticulous. He spotted an area that did not have the mesh and patched it up for us. Rats found their way into our crawlspace that were trapped there for weeks due to snow. They got into all our storage items, insulation and eventually the rat poison - leaving a smelly mess for cleanup. Interviewed numerous companies. Attic Crew was priced in the middle. Appreciated discussing my concerns with the sales manager Nick - who didn't try to upsell, seemed honest, knowledgeable and made good arguments for why we should take a more wholesome approach to the issue. A site manager, Juan, led a crew of 4-5 men to accomplish the work on a Sun. They were so quiet, quick in their work and respectful of our home and space. In the end - we replaced the 30yr old insulation, the vapor barrier, vacuumed and sanitized 1300sf under the house. Everyone's favorite thing to do is climb under the house, right? We just wrapped up our 9 month house remodel that took 3 years and and needed insulation, had mildew, moisture, and previous rodent remnants. Gross to say the least. I'm sensitive to mold and mildew and just couldn't handle going under the house any more. Our contracted pest control company has done a fine job of keeping the rodents from taking up residence and spiders at bay, but I needed this fixed, not just managed, so I called every attic and crawl company I could find to prepare to get a handle on our situation. Now as gross as it is, I was fully aware of what was needed to correct it as this is our third major remodel in 25 years so we began collecting bids and going through the sales pitches with the 1/2 dozen companies that actually replied to my inquiry. I knew for sure we needed some insulation, ducts resealed, sump pump/drainage work, and some remediation but was looking for feedback from the multiple inspections and pics, so let the games begin. Over the course of two weeks, we acquired six different bids with six different recommendations as to how to attack our attic and crawl. Many of the representatives from the various companies were helpful and enlightening. Some were the expected sales persons dripping with upsells, package deals, limited time offers, and scare tactics. Not sure if the mice we previously had issues with or the rats with clipboards were the worse vermin? The advice and honesty we received from some of the companies was extremely helpful however, and we narrowed it down to two within those two weeks. Because of great phone service and response, we maintained a later appointment with Attic Crew due to their busy schedule and decided to see what they had to say before pulling the trigger. We were delightfully surprised that Nick showed up with full containment suit, lights and respirator and took an actual deep dive into the cavernous, dingy depths of our crawl space and climbed the forested rafters of our attic to come to the table with the most thorough assessment we'd received so far. Nick took the longest for both inspection and explanation. We actually wanted it to be over with, if I'm being honest, but I'm glad we took the time. He explained what he found, best practices vs. financial realities and how they weighed into health and safety. We discussed our budget and expectations, and came up with a personalized plan that was right for us while maintaining Attic Crew's standards of service relating to cleanliness and warrantability. Nick was not high pressure and we felt really good about the details he wrote out, so we signed right there. Here's were the rubber hits the road. We had our contractor out to check some other area of our house that needed some love (read, major cost), and it was going to pull many thousands of dollars out of our house budget. I knew we opted for a couple items under the house that weren't absolutely necessary but recommended, so I called up Sandra at Attic Crew to discuss a change order - granted, we knew we'd already signed a contract for a LOT of money, but she said she'd have Nick get back to us as soon as possible, and he did. We discussed what my contractor found was a siding issue and not a foundation issue as thought. Nick reworked everything and we came up with a plan we were both happy with and still warrantable, accomplishing our goals of a healthy and clean crawl and attic while saving us about $4000 from the original bid that we could put toward the $5000 siding issue with our regular contractor. Now, Attic Crew does the kind of work we needed under the siding as well but were gracious enough to make the change anyway. I understand we were within the 72 hour right to rescind in WA for home sales, but that is a nearly impossible thing to push with most companies. I know this having previously worked in direct to homeowner sales. The crew arrived on time, finished as planned, and I have to say, delivered way more than promised! Tony took me underneath and showed me everything. Bravo! They returned for followup with the same level of professionalism to make a couple adjustments I requested. I've since spend days under the house running gas lines and plumbing for a new gas fireplace, exterior faucets, and electrical. Its as clean as a whistle and smells perfect. Thank you. They were the first to respond to our initial inquiry (over a holiday weekend no less.) They were the first ones to hustle out to our house to do an inspection of our situation. And they were the company we chose to do our job which was: drain all that water, put in sump pumps and a French drain, and then dry it, sanitize it and lay down new vapor barrier through the whole crawl space. When my wife and I purchased our home, we were told by the inspector that we would need to have a roof redone and the attic sealed and insulation replaced. After having our roof redone, I did a lot of research and got many different bids for the job. Nick was very thorough with his analysis of what needed to be done and provided me with a number of options and recommendations. Given that our house is over 100 years old, one of my concerns was our plaster ceilings and the potential of cracking happening as the crew worked in the attic. When I brought this up to him, he reassured me that if something were to happen, they would take care of it. Given this, I decided to contract with them to do the work. I was really glad I did! They put in a long 13 hour day, as there was multiple levels of previous insulation that needed to be removed. There were also wood chips and nails from the construction of our roof, which made the job much more difficult for the team. They kept a great attitude about it and worked hard to ensure that they finish the job the same day. As I had expected would happen, there were a few places on our plaster ceilings that ended up cracking. I spoke with Alex and showed him that the ceilings had cracked. He had a great attitude and insured me that they would fix them. The next day Tony came out and repaired all of the cracks. They did a really nice job and even left us some extra paint. Upon completion, I had my inspector come back out to review the work. She said they did a fantastic job! Which made me very happy, as she is extremely thorough. I highly recommend The Attic Crew! I almost never write yelp reviews but Nick, Tony, and the Attic Crew team are excellent. We had two large projects to tackle: rodent abatement in attic and duct work in basement. I received bids from several companies for this work. Many companies did not want to tackle the duct work because it was quite complicated, basically replacing all the duct work throughout the house. I went with Nick and Tony because they were professional and gave a good bid. For the attic they came and vacuumed out all the old insulation in one day. This is a BIG messy job. They did it quickly and kept the house clean. After removing the old insulation and rodent homes, they did a thorough pest blocking, sprayed to removed the rodent smell, and spray foamed all the cracks in the attic for better insulation. I asked them to come back in a few weeks to add new insulation so I could have my electrician address a few items while it was all open, which they accommodated. To be honest I was a bit worried about how good of a job they would do with the duct work. We are trying to finish out an unfinished basement and wanted to reduce the duct height and hide laterals as much as possible. This is complicated work. Tony worked super hard to make this happen. When most people would be grumbling about a job, he was just super nice. I'm very happy I went with this company. Anyways, I don't write Yelp reviews, but they are great. read more

I'm so glad I found this place. We had an exterminator come out and he recommended we hire a more extensive crew to really seal up or crawl space for a more permanent solution. I found this place and they came out for a free estimate. Other places I called wanted $200 for an estimate. They spent several hours covering holes and came back when I noticed the traps were tripped. They are seriously on top of it. It's only been a week since they started and we are already mice free in the house and still working on clearing the crawl space so that it is 100% rodent free. So pleased with their service. I somewhat recently bought an older house, god knows when the crawlspace was last maintained. Since the purchase I had been attempting to mitigate rodents myself with limited success. Upon inspecting my crawlspace this year I was dismayed to see it a total wreck. Rats had gotten in, and invaded parts of my insulation and every area of my crawlspace. Tony went above and beyond at my house. I've been here about 2 years and in what I've discovered working through other issues, this house hadn't had a lot of maintenance- in probably 15 years. He took photos in my vents and showed them to me and they were horrific. He pulled out the vent from the system and it was so caked over, he said I would be better off having nothing than putting the one I had back in. At this point, I was pretty worried he was going to say everything was outside the scope of the Groupon and I'd have to schedule another appointment. But, he surprised me. He explained to me the issues with the system, what I needed to do, and how much it would cost. While he and his coworker cleaned the system, I went to the store to buy new vents. When I came back, they mentioned that one section of the house wasn't getting any air. He went into 3 different crawl spaces (again, it's a weird house) to determine the issue. While he was down there, he discovered that a flood about 6 months earlier had completed filled the vent and the water had never drained. He cut the vent, drained it out, and reconnected it. I honestly could not have been happier with his service and professionalism. He is definitely going to be my call for adding black lights, hepa filters, and future cleaning. Nick was our guy that showed up to give an estimate. The quote he gave was out of our price range but he fixed a broken bathroom vent for us for free during his visit. I really wanted to go with Attic Crew so I asked Nick for a second estimate for less work and Nick totally came through for us. I was so happy to hire this company, they are green, they did not use any toxic chemicals. The guys that showed up were great, polite and respectful. Professional, on time and honest. That has been my experience with the Attic crew. I called the office for a rodent problem and took an appointment for an estimate work. Jay texted me heads up message ahead of time, he arrived on time and provided an honest review of what was needed. He was professional, knowledgeable and thorough.
