Our insulation in the attic was 50 yrs old and we needed help. After reading all the reviews about Attic Heroes we scheduled a free estimate. Mathew came the next day, inspected both the attic of the house and the garage. He took time to discuss what I wanted and what they do. The thing to know about Fidel and his crew is they care about your home and your comfort with the job. There's no pressure or up-selling during the job like some others will do. Because they work as a small crew for all their jobs you really get more than what you'd pay for from other companies that routinely hire replacement workers. I've previously had companies show up with one experienced guy and the rest are same-day hires stumbling around. These guys always work together and complement each other's strengths, which results in you getting a lot of experience in one place during the job. Because of this, I recommend hiring them sooner rather than later because there will either be longer wait times to book them or their prices will go up. Either way, it'll be worth it. You MUST CALL Attic Heroes for a quote and I promise the rest will be history. After having a few companies provide us quotes, we were sold on Attic Heroes by the time they left our house after the first meeting and estimate. The co-owner Mathew, was on time, very professional and knowledgeable. He spent 25mins crawling around our attic and came back down with the offer, we simply could not pass-up. We met on a Saturday, I accepted his bid for the job and we scheduled to do everything four days later! You see, we had just finished RE-roofing our home, so the attic was extremely dirty, full of pieces of roofing shingles and nails. While others tried to justify the higher cost due to extra labor for removing old insulation with all the leftover roofing debris. Mathew did not see it as anything beyond normal work and the estimated cost to remove all insulation was very affordable. The second portion of the estimate is the cost for blown-in insulation or roll/batt insulation (R-38). Since the cost difference was minimal, Mathew advise that roll instillation is more preferred if we plan on accessing the attic over time for any reasons (eg: wiring; installing speakers/lighting, storage, etc.). The blown-in insulation will cover everything (including ceiling joist), which makes it more difficult to do any work in the attic afterwards. Day of install, the foreman (Tony) and his crew of five guys came on time and was very polite. These guys were amazing and the extra level of service and care for the job was so impressive. They respected our house and taped down rolled paper on the floor, put padding on the doorways, taped plastic coverings on the hallway and doors to minimize any damage or mess. I was told once all insulation was removed, they'll have me visually inspect the clean attic space and then after all insulation was completely install, I was asked to inspect it again for full satisfaction before they leave. As part of process, they did spray foam around all the canned lights; piping and any open crevices that needs a filled to insure a well insulated attic. Another guy even walked around the exterior of our house to seal any openings. They completed the entire job in one day and made sure to clean-up inside and outside our house, before leaving. I own an older home, and it needed to get all new ducts and insulation. Also, I was having a rat issue as well. I received four quotes from different companies and decided to go with Attic Heroes due to recommendations from a few neighbors. It wasn't the cheapest from all four quotes, but the service was outstanding. Fidel, Tony, and crew went out of their way to clean, disinfect, and rodent proof of the attic. The addition of insulation and ducts was done correctly, and after checking the attic, I did not find any missing areas that did not have insulation. Once they were done, two rat traps were left in the attic in case any rats were able to get through. Unfortunately, the next day I checked, two rats got through and met the traps. I contacted Attic Heroes and spoke to Fidel. The same day, he showed up and inspected my home again. I never mentioned to them about my home having a crawl space. My fault, I should have mentioned it. Fidel scheduled to come by the next day. The following day Fidel and Tony came by and cleaned, disinfected, and rodent proofed the crawl space areas. It's been a few months, and so far, so good. I can feel the difference in how the home stays warmer and how the new ducts work perfectly when the heater is on. Our upstairs was anywhere from 5-10 degrees warmer than our downstairs even with the A/C on. We called these guys and after inspection they found we lacked enough insulation. They suggested a very reasonable solution: blow in new insulation on top of the existing. (Other company suggested something waaaaaaaaay more complicated and expensive.) Highly recommend! They were very quick and responsive. I called Monday and had Matthew come in on Tuesday to inspect our attic. We had an initial inspection in our house that recommended we take out some insulation but other than that it was fine and a pest control guy come to check if there were any pests/holes and he assured me they went in and out and no holes. Matthew came and understood my concern and informed me that our insulation was not up to code and there were definitely pests in and out AND found the holes in not more than half an house. We recently decided to have our attic cleaned and insulated and the ducting redone, as we'd been experience energy loss due to leaky ducts and an under-insulated attic. After receiving quotes from all of the top-rated attic companies on Yelp, we decided to go with Attic Heroes for a few key reasons: 1) The co-owner/manager, Fidel, was very professional and not pushy at all during the inspection and quoting process. Many other attic companies sent out salesmen or managers to give the quotes, but Fidel actually does the work he's explaining to you. 2) Value. I wanted to share my experience moving into my new home which was serviced by "Z" another company chosen by the seller - this is the background that led me to find Attic Heroes. During house inspection it was found that the attic and insulation was covered in rat droppings. The seller apparently took care of it through Z, requesting replacement of all old insulation with new insulation , and sticking my head through the opening the blowin insulation seemed ok so I moved on during final inspection. One weekend I had another contractor go up in the attic for other reasons and he told me that the rat droppings in the attic were very bad, and sitting under old and new insulation. Upon closer inspection it looked like the previous company only replaced blow-in insulation 4-5 feet around the entrance so that it passes cursory viewing and they just blew enough insulation over the rest to semi-hide the rat droppings covering the old insulation. I contacted Z and they have since been giving me the run around, hanging up when I call and promising to fix the work but going back on their word and finally nothing is done. Desperate for a better alternative, I came across Attic Heroes and talked to Fidel. He came and gave me a great estimate and also explained to me in detail how this industry works, why fiascos like mine happened. He knows because he used to work for these other big name attic insulation companies and struck out on his own for this very reason - these other attic companies charge a lot but only pay their workers minimally. With the harsh working conditions of some low cramped attics (mine does not fit this description) some workers cut corners and so he has seen what happened to me happen a lot before. Most people do not know what goes on in their attics because no one wants to go up there and inspect in detail - it's dark, dank and it's not easy to move around. This is how shoddy companies get away with taking peoples money and not doing the work. So working with Fidel and his friends is a joy. He communicates very well, writes up a contract with you so that you know exactly in writing what will happen. His prices are reasonable - don't be dissuaded by a mid-low side bid thinking that the quality is automatically poor!!!!!! This is not true for Attic Heroes!!!!!!!!! So they came, they laid down the paper path so that the floor would be covered, and it took an entire day 9-5pm for them to complete the cleanup because my attic was so dirty. They kept up communication with me the whole time, and explained as they went along. Follow up is also straightforward and Fidel stands by his word. There are a lot of contractors that are liars and scammers out there, but you can count Attic Heroes to clean up your attic very well. Highly highly recommend them. read more

Very impressed with Attic Heroes. After a terrible moving company experience, I took the time to perform "extra" due diligence in finding a company to replace old insulation. After speaking with 6 local companies over yelp and the phone, I decided to go with Fidel. Fidel's professionalism, patience (I asked a ton of questions) and customer service were on point. He also had no problem sending me quotes over the phone, which was another convenience. They showed up on time, were respectful of the property by laying down tarp for the employees to walk over, explained each step of the process JUST as he did over the phone (meaning the process or schedule didn't change from a phone discussion to actual work being done), allowed me to perform periodic inspections of the work being done and cleaned up very well. There was not a single fiber or insulation spec remaining on the inside or outside. As a plus, they allowed me to toss items that were too large for traditional garbage disposal (very convenient) and Fidel helped me out while I was installing some drywall. Talk about above and beyond. I would gladly recommend Attic Heroes to the elders of my church, and that says a lot. It's rare nowadays to find businesses that actually show up on time, honor their estimates, and do great work, but that's exactly what Attic Heros did. They: removed very old and dirty insulation, installed a heat barrier, weatherproofed skylight and vents, and blew in new insulation all in one day.
