I have an old AC. Still runs very well but I am selling my home and just wanted to have routine maintenance done. The guy who came out was very nice and polite. He became focused on selling me a new unit, however, which I was not prepared to do, so we ended up getting no yearly maintenance done and did not buy a new unit for the $15k I was quoted. I don't doubt the company has integrity but the aggressive sales pitch turned me away. I have called another company to do the check up. read more

I had Blue Diamond come out and fix the mess our original installers made in our attic from 12 years ago (I'm annoyed at how bad it ended up being). They went super cheap and did not install the correct size plenum and ducts, and our house never got cool enough, even though every HVAC person we brought out told us that we had the right size unit for our house. Anyway, Donovan (the owner) actually fully explained the problem instead of just saying "yeah we just gotta rip everything out, here is a quote for $8k". My response was always "Yeah, go f yourself, you just lost a sale". But since Donovan actually took the time to explain, and gave a reasonable quote, I took him up on it. Fast forward to the actual work that was done. I was home while it was happening, but if I was not, I would not have known anything was actually done. JR, Eddie and Ricky were extremely clean. Inside the house, inside the garage and outside in the driveway. I went up into the attic and while I'm not a HVAC tech, it looked like super professional work, like they actually cared about doing a good job, not just about getting it done. It was like nobody was there. I've had contractors leave cigarette butts and fast food bags in my yard before. Nothing like that from these guys. Time will tell how the A/C performs. It's San Diego winter and we do use the heat a bit at night. We did notice that our big front room with a vaulted ceiling that never got warm or cold is now warm.......I mean...that's something! The picture I attached is where they took a small tube and turned it into a big box all the way up into the attic. It's not very exciting, and you can't really tell that they did anything, which is good because the work was really clean. Maybe I will come back in July and update about the A/C, but so far I would recommend Blue Diamond for their work and reasonable pricing. Seriously, it's reasonable. Blue Diamond completed an HVAC renovation for my 1,600 sq ft home in Mira Mesa. The project included an air handler replacement (~$5k) and an upgrade to insulated ducts (~$5k). Alecko did the initial quote and was very thorough. He took detailed measurements and listened to our needs. He spent a few hours gathering information for the quote, and I appreciated his attention to detail. The final cost was exactly what Alecko gave us in the detailed quote. A week later, Gilberto and Ozzy completed the installation in about 1.5 days. They respected our home, did high quality work, and cleaned up completely afterward. I live in Virginia and I've a property in Santee, California. In November 2024, Blue Diamond Heating and Air charged me $475 dollars for replacing a 24 volte relay for the heating unit at my Santee house. This company was unwilling to provide me with the parts and labor cost when I requested; therefore, their repair charges were not transparent. After the repair had been completed, they refused to credit back the $79 dollars which they had charged me for the diagnoses. Their reason was that the diagnostic fee would be waived only if the repair was done at the same time. It forced me to reasoning with them because firstly, their technician didn't have the parts with him; secondly, he let me waited for the estimate; and thirdly, I responded to their email (the repair cost) in less than two hours after I received their estimate via email. Upon my insisting, they finally credited back the $79 dollars which they had taken from me but never made an apology for over charging me. In overall, this was not a very pleasant experience in doing business with this company; particularly, with both the cost of the repair and not being transparent with what they were charging me for. read more

I am a return customer with Blue Diamond. Called and spoke with Courtney to schedule an AC tuneup. On the day of the appointment, Charles, the technician, called and texted me to inform me he was on his way. He arrived at the beginning of the 9 to 11 window I was given. He began the appointment by telling me the services included with the AC tuneup. The AC tuneup was thorough from the inspection of the indoor unit to the outdoor unit. Filter was replaced and vents were cleaned. He was able to replace capacitor for the indoor unit because he had the parts with him. In addition, he mentioned other elements that would eventually need replaced and the benefits of installaing a new AC and heating unit. Charles is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to heating and air. I appreciated the time he took answering my questions. He is always prepared and professional. This company cares about their customers. I purchased the membership plan for $119.99/year. It included the AC tuneup ($109), and it also includes a furnace tuneup and a 15% discount on repairs. It started with our AC breaking during the last heat wave, had one contractor come out and said it was dead and can't be repaired. Then Donavan, CEO of Blue Diamond, came out, and fixed it! Brian was professional from the time of initial contact re: our broken A/C coil. They were one of the only companies willing to fully assess the issue and offer the option of repair vs. replacement. In the end we did decide to replace the coil based on a number of factors, but Brian gave us all the information we needed to understand the pros and cons of the different options available to us. He was patient with my many questions and when the diagnosis/quote process ended I felt very comfortable and confident with my decision. His pricing was very competitive and much lower than the other quote we had already received from another provider. On the day of installation the team (Junior and Ozzy) arrived on time.
