She concentrates on one customer at time and seems to always have an inflow of customers even though it's such a small store that can go easily unnoticed in waimulu shopping center. YOU'RE INVITED TO A ROYAL BALL: I needed a same day alteration on an evening gown for a fancy fundraiser. It was a very impromptu purchase and the dress my husband picked out for me needed to be hemmed by about four inches. Damn those European hemlines! NO FAIRY GODMOTHER, BUT AT LEAST YOU GOT YELP: What is a gal to do when there's no magic wand available to fix a dress in a jiffy? Oh yes, you find a tailor on Yelp! My hubby found Attractive Alterations and gave the number a call. Insun (the own) answered the phone and told us to bring the dress in so she could see if the work could be done same day. WHERE TO GO BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO PUMPKIN CARRIAGE: Attractive Alterations is in the Waimulu Shopping Center. Same complex as Baldwin's and Zippy's, across the street from Best Buy. It's located on the second floor above Christie's karaoke lounge on the West side of the building. Go upstairs and you'll find Insun's modest studio shop. THOSE MICE DON'T TURN INTO HORSES OR DO HEMMING: My gown hemming ended up being $52 because it was a rush. The price would have been $40 but she added 25% for the same day service. This might seem pricey but it's not because it's an evening gown. I'll definitely return in the future to hem my pants and denim because her pricing is quite reasonable and I was really happy with her work plus fast turnaround time. SHE'S MY KOREAN FAIRY GODMOTHER: Insun is so sweet and it meant so much to us that she stayed open late just to finish my dress. Most alterations places won't go the extra mile when you're in a bind and I really appreciate her flexibility. I FEEL LIKE A PRINCESS: I loooooove my new dress! Attractive alterations didn't have a large enough area to walk around in my wedding dress so despite it seeming to be the perfect length in-store, on my wedding day I tripped and ripped the bottom of my dress several times. I ended up using safety pins to just clip the train up. But the dress really should've been 2/3 inches shorter all around. Great service but needs more walking space to really ensure gowns have the perfect hem. read more

I can't even begin to explain how Insun at Attractive Alterations saved my wedding. I found a cheap wedding dress that was way too huge for me but at the price that I got it for, I figured I could just get it altered. David's Bridal quoted about $500 but even told me that if I lost any weight (I was already on an exercise plan), then I would have to buy another dress. I found another independent alterations person who said that she could take it in and for MUCH cheaper but she also said the same thing: if I lost any more weight, I'd have to get another dress. I was discouraged at this point and just agreed to come in two months for my first fitting to see if I needed a new dress. She never showed to our appointment! I was sitting outside of her shop for a long time and she basically stood me up! I looked in my phone and found Attractive Alterations. Insun said that she could see me right away since I had everything with me and I just got so lucky. I went there immediately and showed her my dress. While I awaited the fateful words of "it's too big for me to bring in that much," I just heard her tell me to give her a few weeks. What?! I then told her what everyone else said and she responded with, "Why would you have to get another dress? You already have this one right here with you?" I LOVE HER. She was a little costly but still way cheaper that DB. She brought it in so much which required moving the straps in, also. She hemmed the bottom and even added a simple bustle. She even added in bra cups to fill in the front area and made it so that I didn't have to worry about wearing a bra. I LOVED how the end product looked and everyone complimented how happy I looked in my dress. Best part was that I didn't have to spend a fortune on it so I didn't care if it got muddy or dirty (which I did). I would definitely recommend Insun for any type of alterations that you might need because I can tell that she is a master of her craft! When I arrived, they were having lunch, but one of the ladies paused and helped me. I was scared it was going to be pricey because it was denim. However, I ended up paying around $15. I don't frequent alteration shops very often. And when I do get my clothes alter its usually a 50/50 chance that it's the way that I want it. Pants hemmed too short or not enough. But here at Attractive Alterations owner & operator, Mrs. Overrein is just awesome! I've been there twice and am very happy with the work. I've brought my mom & my other half here :) I'm your average asian girl. That's a nice way to say that I'm short. So when I shop for clothes, I more the likely run into the same issue. The dress/pant length is just too long! Even if I wear 4 inch heels there are some pieces of clothing that will just drag & there are just some days where you just want to wear ballet flats with your jeans without having to roll them up once or twice! In my case, sometimes THRICE! Attractive Alterations is located in the Waimalu shopping center. There is ample parking, but try to park near or around the korean market as the shop is located up on the second floor. You should see the sign right by the stairs. If you're getting a dress or a pair of jeans hemmed, bring the shoes that you're going to wear with them to the shop. That way Mrs. Overrein can tailor the clothing to the length that you desire. Once Mrs. Overrein has your measurements, you don't need to keep trying on every piece of clothing that you bring. You can just drop off your items to get altered. And here's the best thing...you can pick up your clothes the very next day! Now I'll never have that issue where my pants or dress won't fit me just because I'm your average asian girl :) read more

The owner is my savior. I called LAST MINUTE for a hem on a bridesmaid dress that I needed ready within a week and she told me not to worry and that it would be ready for pick up the next Wednesday. The shop is small with one dressing room and I'm not sure if she has more seamstress workers, but I would suggest calling ahead of time to get a quote and an estimated pick up time, especially if you need your item ASAP. The owner was so sweet, she walked to the ground floor to come get me as I was talking with her on the phone trying to find out where her shop was as it's a bit difficult to find (it's located near the Ewa Side of the shopping center, around the corner near Kapiolani Coffee Shop - you'll see stairs and when you walk up her shop will be right in front of the stairwell). I was also a bit in a rush but didn't tell her...everything/measurements was quick and only took about 10 - 15 minutes tops! Plenty of parking right in front of the shop too! Came here last year to get my pants hemmed since I got them online and I recently came back for 5 pairs of pants to get some hem work done and one of them also needing to be pulled in since it was so baggy. It's great that they have rush service for certain work because I was able to get 4 of my pants back the next day and we're able to use them for work. Length was as discussed which I liked.
