I just got back from picking up 3 pairs of jeans from Attractive Alterations. I had 2 jeans hemmed and 1 hemmed and tapered for a more straight legged jean. I must say, despite the fact that I wore these jeans and shredded the bottoms pretty good before handing them over for a fix, she did a great job. I asked her (sorry, I didn't get her name) to keep the jeans long and she did that. In my experience, jeans tend to get hemmed to your ankles and become forever high waters and a waste of money. I never understood why alteration shops did that and refused to understand, "Keep it long, it's OK, I want it like that, I like to cuff them." Anyways, this girl got it! She did a good job. 5 stars for her work but...I think it's a little expensive ($45 for three pairs of pants) and the location is OK. Her shop also smells far too heavily of food. She will definitely be my new go-to. After an extremely rough experience altering my wedding gown at an unnamed place in town, I was $400 in debt with uneven sleeves added(not to mention a little blood stain) and an insane neckline that made me look like a NFL linebacker. I didn't even get to ask what her name was, but I asked her to remove the sleeves and fix the neckline. She removed the padding in my dress free of charge and reduced the prices of the alterations because she said "you spent so much money already." Her shop is a little bit hard to find because its at the very beginning of the Waimalu shopping center. There's a staircase that leads to her shop. She just opened, so I would definitely recommend you go to her before she starts getting busy. I think she only takes cash but she allowed me to pay after I was happy with the alterations. Overall, very good experience. It may be because she was so sweet and was willing to help me out, but she also showed me how horrible the sleeves were that were added on. read more

I brought 2 dresses to this place to get altered. The lady was very nice. She was very fast. I dropped it Monday, she was able to finish it by Wednesday. She did a really awesome job. She was able to do what I wanted to be done. It was hard to find the place though. It's on the 2nd floor of the Waimalu shopping center. On top of Christine's or something. I first found out about Attractive Alterations because of a 20% coupon I got from one of my teachers. So I gave it a try, at first I had a hard time finding it but it's all the way to left of the shopping center, and by Christine's lounge up a dark stairway. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a nice lady. She quickly helped me into a dressing room and helped me zip up my prom dress. I forgot my heels, and she was able to let me borrow one of hers. As I was aware, my prom dress is very detailed and had many layers (5) because it was a mermaid dress and since I ordered online I ordered a size bigger than my regular. She could have easily said no and turned me away like most seamstresses when they had hard dresses like mine, but she was able to do it and for that I was very thankful. With that, I understood the price she gave me it for. Cash only though! After a week and a half, I came to pick it up and she had me try it on and it fit so perfectly! I was definitely in love. She did such a good job. She then helped me out of my dress, and gave me a hug and told me to have a good time at my prom. I definitely will be coming to her for any alterations I may need. I don't normally get alterations but I needed to get my bridesmaid dress altered so I decided to try this place. The location is in Waimalu shopping center, on the second floor (who knew there was a second floor?!). But once you go up the steps, it's right there! The Korean ahjummas were so nice and friendly. The work they did in my dress was neat and perfect! I'm looking forward to wearing my altered dress to Mexico this summer! I didn't have the best first experience with this seamstress but to her defense I did come in with a more complicated item. The first time I had something altered here, I brought in a pleather corset with a double zipper. Upon picking it back up, I found that it was sewn backwards and I was blamed for it. She fix it in time for the Halloween event I was going to and it was done really well. This time however, was a completely different experience. I brought in a dress that I ordered from Amazon and needed altered for my trip that starts next Tuesday. She made sure that it was done by today and she did an incredible job. So I just left Attractive Alterations and I have to say, service with a smile! The owner is a very sweet woman, and her prices are VERY REASONABLE!!! I had collected over 7 pairs of very nice dress slacks on sale that were all way too long. For fear of paying for the pants twice, they have been sitting in my closet for a couple of months. I'm excited to say that in less than a week, I'll be able to finally wear my pants! They are hidden upstairs in the Waimalu Shopping Center, and she also offers Military discounts! This place is a quaint area that's hidden and kind of hard to find, but definitely worth the search. She's such a sweetheart and she made my prom dress perfect not to mention, as it was time for me to pick up my alternated dress, I couldn't meet the 6pm closing time, so I explained my situation to her and she agreed to say behind 15 more mintues just so I can pick it up! We seen the price & we were surprised because it was more than we expected but she kindly explained as to why it came out to that price, so we were pleased to have her tell us rather than leaving us with questions as to why it was so pricey. Brought in my daughter's very elaborate prom gown for alterations and couldn't be happier with the results. The dress is strapless with boning throughout and covered in sequins. It needed to be taken in at the bust and torso. It also has a very full mermaid bottom (4 layers of tulle) that needed shortening. I have to admit I was nervous that we wouldn't get the results we wanted but this wonderful woman (sorry didn't get her name) was able to make it fit my daughter as if were custom made for her. Believe me that was a lot of work! It was done in less than a week and very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend her services for any type of garment. I brought in my leather Harley Davidson vest in to have two large patches and two smaller patches sewn on. I expected them to be done in a couple of days but she asked " would you like to pick them up today after 3?" and it was only 11 a.m.! I showed her where I want the patches, she marked the spots on the vest, had me try on the vest, asked if she could adjust them slightly so that when I'm wearing the vest, the patches look straight. I didn't even think of that! The vest was completed as promised and it looks amazing! Very happy and I'll be bringing my patches to her in future. read more

After having a horrible time with my flower girls dress at David's Bridal, I searched for alterations places on Yelp that had good reviews. I found attractive alterations and decided to call first to see if she knew what a bustle was and how to let out a wedding gown. When she answered my questions perfectly I decided to come in. Although the shop is small and on the second floor, I easily found the location from the pictures on Yelp. With all the heavy beading I was worried she might not be able to do it. She cleaned the floor before I tried on my dress for her which was awesome. She pinned everything where I wanted it and told me to come back in a week for a fitting. After my fitting I was so relieved that my dress fit perfectly and she only needed to do minor touch ups. When I picked up my dress,a few days later, it was perfect! She gave me a handmade tissue box cover, said congratulations, and a gave me a warm embrace. I also brought in my mom for her dress, which came out great too.
