To take it a step further, in the midst of this dispute, they sent us to collections and it's now on my credit report. Firstly and mainly, the cost vs. the services received is simply not fair. They expect you to pay 150 a month, totaling 1800 a year, for a grand total of 4 visits. That's it. When asked why they think having patients pay 1800 for 4 hrs of their time was moral/fair, Jennifer's response was that 'I don't decide the cost' and 'no other members have a problem with it'. Ok?? You have been working with the practice for over 10 years and you claim you don't have any power? And what do other members have to do with me? If they have money to waste or don't think about their finances in a responsible manner, that's their problem. Subscriptions that do not provide a continuous service for continuous payment should be illegal. You do not get to have free money from us when you provide VERY limited service in return. They claim they're an alternative to insurance, but they're worse because they cost the same or more while also expecting you to have a real doctor through your insurance for the things they cannot/will not help you with. The more expensive, unlimited plans arent worth it either bc you will not need more than 1 appt per month. Why? Because this practice is very limited in not only what they're willing to do but also what they're capable of doing. During the discovery call, I made sure to ask if they had a problem prescribing medication. They said no. Several months in and they refuse to refill a simple, light-weight prescription they knew was helping me to sleep. Apparently, maintenance members cannot get monthly prescriptions. They wanted me to pay them more in order to get them to ignore their dislike for medications. I paid $50 for an online doctor and got the prescription in less than 30 min, but my actual practice wasn't willing to do it for 150. This was after their natural alternative gave me horrible acid reflux. You knew I couldn't take your supplement because it caused me pain, but you're unwilling to give me the medication to tide me over until I was better? You are not moral. As for what they're capable of doing, it's not much. They heavily focus on supplements, and that's mainly for relatively simple and easy to fix issues. AKA, if youre normally healthy but have some problems, they MIGHT be able to help you. But if you have chronic issues, they CANNOT HELP YOU. They childishly do not want to acknowledge that real, chronic issues exist that cant be naturally supplemented. Their methods of helping will most likely not help much or at all because supplements, at least the limited # of ones theyre aware of, just aren't strong enough to. They also wanted dietary changes like reduced dairy and grains. Dairy and grains have never been an issue for me and it's such a privileged, white person thing to blame perfectly healthy forms of food for your health. If anything, american food processing and overconsumption are the problem, not dairy. The vitamin d, probiotics, various digestion aids, omega 3 oil they had me buy did nothing to help me. I already told them that probiotics didn't work for me, but they still insisted. The prebiotic I found on tiktok, however, immediately gave me relief. The only thing they gave me that worked, magnesium, i had already planned on getting because of tiktok. Which is my next point; any help this practice can give you for 150+ a month, you will get for FREE on tiktok. Tiktok helped me with multiple issues, which this practice couldn't begin to aid. My acid reflux was fixed by drinking apple cider vinegar, a cheap, natural remedy i learned from a tiktoker. What did they want me to do? Buy expensive, useless probiotics and digestion aids. They don't have the knowledge to give real, affordable help, even for non-chronic issues. They can't even give a flu shot or other basic things a normal, cheaper doctor's office can give. They dont answer ANY phone calls and their 'receptionist' who isnt actually ever at the practice and works from home is pretty bad at her job, because she doesnt answer online messages in a timely manner and isn't knowledgeable in general, even pertaining to the practice. When talking to her, it feels like I'm talking to a bot. Their website is also outdated and annoying to use. Do not give them your money.

I have been going for about two months now, and every time I go she pulls out something that I didn't think about and shows me a different way to think about it. She's been very helpful to me and I will continue to see her. Very professional and courteous, easy to get a hold of when you need to set up or reschedule an appointment. I often have to leave her a message because she's in a session, but she calls back within a couple hours. One time I forgot I had an appointment until five minutes after my appointment started, when I called her she allowed me to come in 30 minutes late and still take the full appointment time. Not going to be possible in every case, obviously, but she is flexible and will work with you. Obviously choosing a therapist is a very personal decision, and just because she is helpful for me does not mean she will be the best fit for you, but if you are looking for someone friendly, professional, and helpful, I would suggest giving Ms. Robinson a try.

What I am reviewing here is the office itself, including the office staff. I was a patient of Dr. Hobbs for three years when he practiced at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. After my dog ate my prescription, I called Dr. Hobbs' office to request an additional refill that would get me through to my next office visit. Imagine my surprise when I learned that Dr. Hobbs and his long-time partner Dr. Lawson had packed up shop and moved to the south side of Chicago! What kind of practice doesn't let its patients know that are moving? Why can't you pick up the phone or mail your patients a postcard letting them know they either have to travel farther to see you or start shopping for a new doctor? Not having the luxury of time to shop around, I called the new office and left a message with Barbara on a Friday saying my pharmacy would be faxing over a refill request. I also sent the office a fax of my own, requesting that they refill two prescriptions - one to replace the pills the dog scarfed down, and one to get me through the additional week before my new health insurance would start and I could make an appointment. Barbara informed me that neither doctor was in, so the earliest the prescription could be refilled was Monday. Fine. On Wednesday, however, the prescription still had not been refilled. I called and spoke to another office employee who took all my contact information and assured me someone would call by the end of the day. No such luck. The following day, Thursday, I received a call a work from Beverly telling me that they could not refill my prescription because it had been more than a year since my last doctor visit, and it would be "illegal" for them to refill. I refuted her claim - my last doctor visit was mid-January 2013, and I was calling the last week of December/first week of January. She relented slightly, saying that she could provide me with one refill, but not two, as I hadn't made another appointment with them. I explained that I was waiting for my insurance to process and did not want to make an appointment until I had the new card in hand, but was certainly planning to do so. Beverly told me that she would have to speak to Dr. Hobbs to see if he would approve another refill (at which point I was wondering why she hadn't done so in the first place), and would have to call me back tomorrow. I asked if she could at least put in one refill, and she agreed to do so that day. I'm sure you won't be shocked to learn that she never did call in that one refill. Three weeks after my initial call/fax to Female Health Care Associates, I received a voicemail from Diana asking me to call back about my prescription. What a joke. Obviously I had been off my prescription for three weeks at that time - the refill wasn't going to do me much good, was it? I expect much better patient relations from my doctor's office than I received from Female Health Care Associates. As I said, Dr. Hobbs is a great doctor, and I respect him very much, but his office staff was clearly unconcerned and unwilling to help. Though I had intended to continue visiting Dr. Hobbs in his new location, my experience with his staff changed my mind, and I will go elsewhere from now on.

Breakfast or Dinner is served! If you order from the general menu itself, you must do so before the time that meal session begins as noted on the front cover of the menu. I arrived at 5:30 AM and met with the research assistants and the nurse that would be dealing with me, Colleen. She was professional and supportive. The room was small and clean, with a tv and comfy chair. I got breakfast at 9:30 and it was ok. Everyone was helpful and friendly. I have stingy veins, so there were multiple attempts at finding one that would work. They were apologetic and I took it in stride. The worst was going to the bathroom, having to take the IV stand with me, and 'collecting' the urine for analysis. She reminded me cheerfully and asked if I was ok multiple times. The only glitch was I went to have another test done, so I ordered lunch in advance, but due to a new catering company or something there was a big delay (45 min) because I came back earlier than anticipated. I had planned to have lunch at home and I kind of wish I had done that.

A little backstory: Before seeing Laura, I saw a lactation consultant (LC) at my baby's former pediatrician's office. I was having severe pain in my nipples for 13 weeks after each feeding and dreaded each one. The baby would spend an hour at the breast and would cry when I took her off, never satiated. I brought up questions to my pediatrician and lactation consultant on numerous occasions: Does my baby have a tongue tie? Why does it hurt so bad when she feeds? Why are her feedings so long? What cues should I look for in a baby who is getting enough milk? Long answer short, I didn't get answers for those questions and I was pushed in the direction of formula. Not that there is anything wrong with using formula, I was just passionate about trying to breastfeed my baby because I was interested in the natural antibodies and nutritional benefits of breastmilk. Reasons you should contact Laura: I finally did some research and realized I needed to be seen by an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). I had no idea there was a difference between a LC and an IBCLC, but there definitely is one. I came across Laura's name and gave her a call, she was quick to respond and was able to make a home visit the following day. She had a thorough questionnaire to get my full history, and she truly listened to the problems I was having and gave me some helpful information to prepare for her visit. Within minutes of her visit she identified that my baby had a lip and tongue tie. It was the biggest relief to find out that all the issues I was having with breastfeeding were real and that there was help for them. Laura's help didn't end there, she helped me with breastfeeding positions, with the baby's latch, completed a weighted feed, gave me suggestions for supplements to help increase my milk production, taught me how to do paced bottle feeds, helped me understand the importance of natural remedies, allowed me to have an open, honest conversation on all the questions I had as a new mom, and pointed me in the direction of other health care providers that could help with the tongue tie release and after care. She followed through with checkups- asking about the baby and me after the release and continued to show that she cared. I think the most important thing Laura did for me was to reassure and encourage me to listen to my intuition as a new mom. Being a new mom can be scary but there is also something innate in us to know when things are wrong with our babies and our bodies- like that saying- mom knows best! Laura was there to root me on and provide me with the tools to do better and helped me achieve my goals for breastfeeding. I only wished that I would have called her sooner! Thank you Laura!
