IF YOU HAVE A PAINFUL NEUROMA in your foot. This one is for you!…read more TLDR:: Dr Usman is Seriously Amazing. Extremely comprehensive and did not rush AT ALL. The wait and the 4 hour drive to see him was WELL worth it. My story; For more than two years, I lived with constant pain from a Morton's neuroma. What started as occasional discomfort gradually became something that affected nearly every part of my life. Simple things most people take for granted became difficult. Walking my dog, standing in the kitchen to cook dinner, shopping, traveling, and even getting through a workday were painful. At night, I would often lie awake because of the burning, tingling, and electric shock sensations shooting through my foot. I honestly felt hopeless. I constantly googled, ChatGPT, researched on line and did so much. Over the years, I saw multiple doctors (1 sports medicine MD, 1 orthopedic doctor and one podiatrist l) and tried just about everything that was recommended. I went through custom orthotics, physical therapy, shoe modifications, several cortisone injections, and alcohol sclerosing injections. While some treatments provided temporary relief, the pain always returned and returned with a vengeance! Eventually, I was told by my local doctor that surgical nerve removal was likely my next option. The idea of surgery, recovery time, and the possibility that it still might not solve the problem left me feeling extremely discouraged. That's when I searched and emailed Dr Usman (used the main email which his staff forwarded to his direct email). He replied so quickly to me even though I was not an official patient of his! I immediately scheduled an appointment with Dr. Usman. From my first visit, I felt that my concerns were genuinely being heard. Dr. Usman took the time to review my history, explain why previous treatments may not have worked, and discuss all available options. One treatment we discussed was cryosurgery (cryoablation), a minimally invasive procedure designed to treat my painful nerves by using extremely cold temperatures. After a few weeks later, I was cleared for the procedure and the procedure itself was so much easier than I expected. It was performed in his extremely clean and Beautiful office. During the procedure at several points he made me felt very comfortable and checked up on me and explained in detail what he was doing. He made a very small pin point entry point in my foot and did cryosurgery for my neuroma! I had no large incisions or stitches. I was able to walk out of the office afterward wearing a comfortable surgical shoe. About 1 week after the cryoabalation of my neuroma, I woke up, stepped on the ground with my bare feet and I had ZERO pain. For the first time! The pain that had controlled my life for years finally began to improve. Today, about 6 weeks later, I am back to doing the activities I had given up. I can walk longer distances, enjoy social events, and spend time with family without constantly thinking about my foot. The sharp burning, walking on a rock pebble and electrical sensations that once dominated my day are no longer part of my everyday life. No treatment is right for every patient, and everyone's results are different. However, if you have been struggling with Morton's neuroma, have tried multiple conservative treatments, or have been told surgery is your only remaining option, it may be worth learning more about cryosurgery/cryoabalation and discussing whether it is appropriate for your situation. I only write this review to help those out there still struggling like I was. For me, finding Dr. Usman and Michigan Avenue Podiatry Clinic was a turning point. After years of frustration, I finally found relief and was able to get back to living my life. If you're on the fence about seeing Dr Usman for your foot problems. I would highly encourage you to see him. Best Podiatrist in Chicago and beyond!

Included in the consent for care was a statement "we use AI to transcribe verbal communication between you and your provider." There is no way to opt out, and they won't see you unless you sign it. If the people in charge had done any research or reading about AI transcriptions, they would know AI often mangles transcriptions from meetings. It gets confused about who is who, and changes sentences to the opposite of what was said. This gets worse when people have strong accents, and is hopeless when people are switching between languages- such as English to Spanish. Also, while I was waiting for my provider I could clearly hear people talking in the hall and in other rooms. So in this location, AI would probably bring words from other conversations into the transcript. I refused to sign it, and the receptionist asked her manager. It ended up that the doctor assured me she would always ask and never turn on the AI without my permission. They also made a note in my chart and when I signed it, I wrote "No AI scribe" above my signature. The thing that bothers me most is the attitude of the people in charge. It would be one thing if they were doing this with, say, a restaurant order, where the worst consequences would only be inconvenient. To take chances like this with medical care - where it's only a matter of time until there's a big problem, injuries, and a lawsuit - is clueless and arrogant. Although I like my doctor and I'm only going for a minor problem, I might rethink going there at all.

Been wearing customs for years and my last pair was amazing, just worn out from another provider. Dr. Baker recommended an orthotic, ordered it, overcharged me, didn't trim the orthotics properly causing me pain, and should have known better. Orthotics cannot be too big. If they are, it can push the entire orthotic forward causing pain in the heel, ball and entire body. Dr Baker should have known this. Find somewhere else to be treated.

I searched throughout my insurance network and this was the one podiatrist office that didn't complicate getting an appointment. I was able to get an appointment with only a short wait time. The office is located in a convenient location, it's right off Lincoln Ave and a block off Damen. There is a train stop, Irving Park, not to far from the office and several buses run near the office. It was easy to get to the office. During my visit I was paired with Dr. Heidi Hoffman, she is amazing! I arrived a few minutes before they opened and Dr. Heidi Hoffman allowed me to come in so I didn't have to wait outside. She was friendly and very educational. As I mentioned above, I came into the office for toe pain that was making it hard to use shoes. She listened to my issue and quickly noticed what could be causing the pain. She was able to give me a instant short-term pain relief and gathered whatever was needed for additional tests. She was also able to help me understand more things about my foot. After the appointment, I was updated roughly a week later about the results of the test and given instructions on how to deal with the continuous toe trauma that she discovered. It's been a few months and my toe barely aches when I put on shoes. I can press on the toe that had the issue and it doesn't hurt. It was the complete opposite a few short months ago. I would highly recommend coming to Lincoln Foot and Ankle Center for all of your needs.

Then a few days later called to say he ran my insurance and xyz is what would be covered for custom orthotics and asked when could I come in for measurements. It felt shady so I decided to go somewhere else. Then I went to Dr. Hoffman. She spent a lot of time with me. She took x-rays and went over them with me. We talked about my foot shape and what I should be looking for in a shoe. She recommended going to Fleet Feet for a (free) foot measurement and shoe consultation. She then made a conservative plan of treatment (better shoes, stretches, PT) that could be elevated to custom orthotics if this doesn't work. She diagnosed a nerve issue that can only really be treated by PT/form change while exercising (aka not orthotics). She was encouraging of PT ASAP because as I've had a baby this year...I've already hit my insurance out of pocket max. It's a small thing but just made me feel confident that she was looking out for my best interests. She also gave me personal anecdotes about her own experience with plantar fasciitis as it related to my own case that made me feel hopeful and like I won't be in pain forever. I really value feeling "cared for" by the medical professionals I see, and this is what I got from Dr. Hoffman.
