And perhaps more demoralizing was the fact that repeated bouts of physical therapy didn't seem to prevent the issue from occurring in the future. It always felt like something was missing, so I searched around for an expert that could help me piece it together. I sat down with Jason for my initial evaluation, prepared for another month long routine of stretching and glute strengthening exercises. But even within the first half hour of meeting me, Jason was already subverting my expectations. He effortlessly identified a lack of hip mobility and tight quads -- the ultimate "etiology" of the knee pain as he called it. He sent me off with some hip mobilization exercises, and when I came back soon after he offered to dry needle my quads. The difference these two changes made were night-and-day. The nightmare of another month of PT had vanished in an instant, and I was back to running nearly pain-free. And what's more so is that the results have lasted. I admit to being remiss in not checking out staff credentials ahead of time. My referral order was for PT, so I assumed the staff might have informed me that no one I would be working with had an advanced degree in that area. I'm sure the staff is very well qualified for personal training, but I would not recommend this place for PT. My care was mainly directed by a former nurse practitioner/firefighter/EMT. After showing me an exercise, I was off-loaded to an admin person with no credentials at all in PT. The supervisor, who spent about 5 minutes with me per session, actually trained in chiropractic care and acupuncture. After 3 sessions, I did not feel I was receiving the care I needed. I also felt very out of place and uncomfortable in addition to not making any progress. I cancelled the rest of my appointments and started with an organization where each therapist has a doctorate in physical therapy. That person worked with me one-on-one for the full session. I immediately began to make real progress and benefitted enormously from the care I received. In summary I'd say before starting anywhere, check the qualifications of staff members and make sure they align with your needs. For me the only good part of this experience was being greeted each time by Adrean. He is an extraordinary customer service person and a kind, warm, and welcoming one. He was extremely efficient and the sole reason I gave Balanced Flow a two-star rating instead of one.

I was recovering from a herniated disc and having a tough summer, but got a lot of help from this place and another healing studio down the street. I don't think I could have recovered as well if not for the Western and Eastern one-two punch between them both. The facility was always very tidy, smelled nice thanks to their generous use of MuscleMx CBD balm which I love! I've turned other people on to this stuff and everyone loves it. The staff was always very friendly and helpful, mostly young women. They have interns sometimes too. I was sad when my favorite intern Joanna graduated! I love how they use so many different modalities and a lot of care combos to get relief and help build strength. You start with some warmups on the machines, then exercises and then a little muscle manipulation, massage or even dry needling. The dry needling was what finally helped get me back to better health! I didn't realize just how high quality this place was until I witnessed my partner get PT elsewhere (Thanks for nothing union HMO!) And saw just how little other chain outfits do. This place genuinely helps you get better! Parking can be a little tough if you're in pain and it's busy, but for the most part metered street parking isn't too bad. Accessibility wise there seems to be plenty of space though they did mention they're not equipped to assist extreme levels of incapacitation. I was able to walk with assists but the first time or two I was still using a wheelchair out of fear of pain. The one negative is that they're smack in the middle of the block so you'll have to go about a half block either way to get to the curb ramp.

My shoulder surgeon from Midwest Ortho was so impressed on the advanced range of motion I achieved, he wanted to know where I went for my PT. Absolute professionalism and your goals in mind, they begin with review of your injury alongside your doctor's PT order and put a personalized plan in place and are explained with client/patient. As you move through your stages of exercises, the therapist explains what muscles you need to engage, how and it's importance to your recovery. After working closely with therapy team, in time you move into doing your exercises somewhat on your own. You may think the therapist isn't watching closely, but any wrong move, you'll here a voice correcting your movements/tips on how you need to improve from the team. There front desk is welcoming and helpful with insurance and appointments working closely with the therapist who ensures your progress keeps moving forward. Your recovery and best health is the teams main goal for you to reach before you graduate and exit their doors as you say your goodbyes. So very greatful for all of their knowledge and encouragement in pushing me through each and every time I required PT. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my PT!

I originally went due to a pulled muscle which eventually got worse and had a bulged disc. Long story short, I had a hard time walking and in constant pain and left with almost no pain. Some places may have asked to continue coming back because of good insurance coverage but Adam said you should be good to go and left on my last day with exercise equipment and printout of exercises that I can do from home.
