Well it was a rather ho-hum experience partly because they had too many patron show up at the same time. The serving was very slow and the flight of reds we selected, or rather were recommended, appeared flat and average. Three stars for good views from the top and adirondack chairs to take in the fresh air. Rest is just a footnote.

Fantastic views!!!! Spent an hour with my husband enjoying the scenery in the adirondack chairs on the Atwater back deck. Service was attentive. The Stone Bridge White wine was refreshing and light. Just a lovely relaxing experience!!!

Had a great experience here. No reservation was needed so we walked right to the outside area. Got lucky with beautiful weather and such a gorgeous view of the water. We were disappointed to find out that they were out of the vegan cheese for the cheese board and I'm not sure if they are bringing it back since it's off the menu :( but the options we were able to get vegan were still really delicious. Do yourself a favor and get the turmeric cashews, I wanted to buy a whole bag to take home after trying! The rest of the board was two kinds of olives, dates and grape leaves. The staff was very knowledgeable and helped us inexperienced wine drinkers pick some great options. Not usually a red drinker but the red blend was my favorite!

We had a wonderful experience at Atwater. We appreciated learning that there's a vineyard planted East-West of Reisling and as well as a North-South vineyard of Reisling. The difference in the wine based on the sun the grapes received from being planted a different direction, as well as the effect of water flow on the East/West vineyard verses North/South was very interesting! Beautiful location and our server was nice. We appreciated the complimentary palate cleanser!

Enjoyed stopping by here for a flight of wine! It was easy to order at the outdoor window and find a seat under the tent for shade since it was a hot summer day. There's nothing better than sipping on wine with a beautiful view of Seneca lake. My friend tried the mimosa and found it light and refreshing!

It was a beautiful vineyard with great tasting wine and the staff was so helpful in choosing the wines! My favorite part is that this winery closes at 9 and you can see the sunset setting from the vineyard :) breathtaking view

We came here after social media and local recommendations. It was great we even ran into someone with the same name as my bf's which is rare. We decided to sit inside but the view was just perfect. Our server Jamie was great too she really listened to our likes and dislikes and gave us the best ones. I'm not normally a white wine girl but I fell in love with their Riesling. We ended up leaving with 3 bottles which was even hard to narrow down.

As a huge wine lover, I wanted my friends and I to try a winery we had never been to and I'm so glad I came across Atwater. I was doing some research and came across Atwater and thought it was a perfect stop. I was able to make a reservation for a tasting for our party of 4 on the deck and it was a great experience. Our tasting included cheese and crackers and one of their employees Tom who was very knowledgeable in the wines and Seneca lake history and had a great sense of humor oversaw our group. The view was incredible from the deck too! The brut was my favorite of the wines we sampled and the one we bought a bottle of to take home. All in all it was a great experience!

This is a gorgeous lakeside vineyard. I can't really speak for their wine as we did not try that many. The ones that we did tried were good. But if you're looking for an open area, laidback ambience, and beautiful views, this is the place to go. It was a beautiful day when we went and we were able to enjoy a glass of wine under the warm sun, gentle breeze, with the vast lake view. This vineyard has indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor seating has a deck overlooking the lake. The tastings are done indoors and are guided. We did not try their tasting as we wanted to sit outdoors. We walked directly up to the outdoor bar, ordered a glass of wine each, and picked our own seats. There were plenty of tables and lounge chairs, some under a tent and some are in the open grass area. We were told that the outdoor bar can also serve the tastings, you just will not get the full guided experience.

We really enjoyed this winery! It has a gorgeous panoramic view of Lake Seneca with plenty of places to sit. We sat in the lower bar area and the view was spectacular! The Cab Franc was our favorite and we ended up buying a case! The staff was great and we felt very welcomed! I highly recommend them!

Awesome wine, winemaker named George is an incredible dude with extensive knowledge and insight into their wines. Truly delicious selection here and so glad we wandered in. Incredible tasting, loved the Bubble Riesling, Rise of Pino Noir 2020, Cab Merlot, Blairranisch 2017, Petillant Naturel 2020, SkinFermenter Geeurztraminer/Vignoles 2017. So awesome. Great views. Just loved. Highly recommend. Thanks George!!

We had a great time visiting this winery with family. It was our favorite winery over the 3 days. Wine, food and atmosphere was fantastic! Thanks for a great time.

This was our very first time visiting, and we hadn't even realized they had been established since 2007! Knowing that they had been perfecting their craft for over 17 years, we were eager to dive into the tasting experience and see what they had to offer. The tasting room had a laid-back yet polished feel, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff ready to guide us through their lineup of small-batch, handcrafted spirits. The distillery prides itself on using locally sourced grains and fruits, and you could tell from the first sip that quality and attention to detail were at the heart of their process. The Tasting Lineup I opted for a tasting of four different spirits, and after enjoying those, I was encouraged to try two more--a bonus that made the experience even better. Here's what I sampled: 1 Straight Bourbon - This was beautifully balanced, with sweet corn and vanilla upfront, followed by a warming spicy rye kick on the finish. Smooth yet complex, it was a fantastic introduction to their bourbon lineup. 2 Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon - A true standout, this one had rich caramel and toasted oak flavors, along with the perfect balance of spice and warmth. Aged for at least four years and bottled at 100 proof, it had a bold yet refined character that made it easy to appreciate. 3 McKenzie Straight Rye - If you're a fan of rye whiskey, this one is for you. It had that signature spicy rye bite, but what really made it unique was the sweet sherry cask finish, adding a layer of richness and complexity that lingered beautifully. 4 Bottled-in-Bond Rye - One of the most interesting pours of the day, this rye was bursting with flavors of chocolate, nougat, and dried red fruit. The influence of the barrel aging was prominent, giving it a decadent, almost dessert-like quality while still holding onto its classic rye spice. After those four, I couldn't resist trying two additional spirits: 5 Apple Brandy (Aged 10 Years) - A masterfully aged apple brandy that showcased deep, caramelized apple flavors, balanced with warm baking spices and oak influence. The 10 years in the barrel really allowed this spirit to develop incredible depth and smoothness. 6 Grappa - This was an unexpected favorite--simply sensational. Grappa can sometimes be overpowering, but this one was smooth, refined, and packed with rich grape flavors, making it one of the best versions I've tried. Taking a Piece of Finger Lakes Distilling Home While every single pour was impressive, the one that stood out the most for me was the Straight Bourbon--so much so that I had to bring a bottle home. It reminded me of a classic Rye Whiskey, with just enough spice to keep things interesting but smooth enough to sip neat. Final Thoughts Finger Lakes Distilling far exceeded expectations, and I can't believe it took us this long to visit! With their commitment to quality, incredible range of spirits, and inviting tasting experience, this is a must-visit for anyone exploring the Finger Lakes region--whether you're a bourbon lover, rye enthusiast, or just appreciate finely crafted spirits. It was the perfect stop to break up a day of wineries and breweries, offering something distinctly different yet equally enjoyable. Next time, I'd love to stay a little longer, maybe sip on a whiskey cocktail and take in the atmosphere even more. Cheers to great whiskey and new discoveries!

Osmote is a small winery, with a focus on what they call "low-impact wines": natural fermentation, low-intervention, classic varieties and modern disease-resistant hybrids... The property is beautiful, with a great view of Seneca Lake. It's a sort of covered pavilion but open on all sides - very open to nature. They offer their wines by the glass or as part of a tasting ($20/person for 4 2-oz. pours). My husband had one glass, while I went with a tasting. I enjoyed all of the wines, and we took a few bottles home with us. The service was great - friendly, casual, helpful - the doggie employee/greeter was a charmer, too. Osmote also produces pork, and you can visit the pigs they're raising which are just down the hill from the winery. Osmote is a great winery to visit on your trip to the Finger Lakes if you're looking for a natural wine producer with a casual, outdoor setup for tastings, Osmore is a no brainer. I'm looking forward to drinking the bottles we brought home, but I'd love to return for another visit in the future, too!
