Maybe it was the dreary rainy day, or the fact that his was winery #4 on our stop, but sadly not too much stood out as wow from this winery. The girls working there seemed to not care much about their jobs or the fact that they were there. The wine was just eh. Most of them tasted too bitter or bland (didn't know that was possible with wine?) for our liking. We started by sharing one flight but then my friend wanted to try more whites so we added another. Seemed like we should have stopped after the first. One nice thing is they give you a "welcome" taster which is basically the 5th wine sample. If you want to choose your own they let you sub that. So they bring the first sample to you, then you wait while they prepare the other 4.

I loved this winery! The view is beautiful! The wines were very unique. We had the best time chit chatting with the worker; she was so nice and friendly and gave us great recommendations of spots in the area. I loved the super nautical and relaxed vibe of this place! My one little complaint was the red wines weren't my favorite, and I'm usually a huge red wineo. But I enjoyed the whites !

We did a tasting at Lucas and had a great experience. This winery is a bit smaller than the other one we went to but still had a lovely place to sit outside and sip some wine.

Venue was superb- outdoor seating overlooking the land and lake. Impressed by the hours- open 7 days! Even more impressed by them staying open when there were about three tables on a slow weekday afternoon. TBH that made it even more attractive for us. Staff was very friendly, willing to chat about the wines and history as we wished. Among other things they have a tugboat family history and when our table had a question about that; the server (granddaughter of the owners!) took the time to call her grandfather to answer our questions. That's pretty personal service! As for the wines- thoroughly enjoyed the flight options- definitely recommend the wine and chocolate flight as a fun and delicious option. The other flights were accompanied by small oyster cracker packets. Hardly worth providing as a cracker option. You can purchase crackers, dips, chips separately. Note-purchase of a flight gets you a $5 discount on purchases and there are also discounts for purchases of 6+ bottles. All in all a great way to unwind after enjoying the local falls for hikes etc.

We traveled to the Finger Lakes for our second visit in 2 years. This was our first time at Lucas Vineyards. They did a wonderful job, provided us both with a wine glass and a choice of the wines that we selected. They bring them out to you at the picnic table. Nice service, good wine, very professional. They clean the tables down nicely. They have a nice outside area to consume wine.

This one on my day 2 of the trip is my favorite after hitting up about a dozen wineries and breweries. $3 tasting with 4 they recommend and 3 that you select. That is a bargain considering all the other tastings were at least $5 for 5. Plus if you check into yelp, you get the supplemental reserve wine for free . My favorite is their famous tug boat white, red and sangria in which I bought the 1.5L bottles. Best value ever for the extra $5 double the volume and if you get 6 bottles you get 10% off. The 1.5L counts as 2 bottles. This place will be my go to place from now on!

Fun vibe, but many of the wines are sweet so not my style but they do it well and surely something for just about everyone here.

Also hosts a pretty spectacular view looking out at Cayuga lake. Randy, the older gentleman that tends to the place is a fantastic human being. Very kind, welcoming, knowledgeable and great to converse with. He is the shining star and reason people will return/give good feedback. The bad: The Owner (Mark). I saw mention in a previous review that he may be on some sort of epilepsy medication that makes him act "off". Not sure I buy that excuse at all. He appears to be heavily intoxicated or on some sort of drug. Conversations with him were awkward, impossible to follow, and just plain uncomfortable. The comment he made about comparing his ex-wife to a dog was the point he completely lost us. To top it all off, he started to become a bit too friendly with my wife while I walked away to use the restroom. That was the icing on the cake. While I understand his medications make him act "off", the above mentioned behavior is inexcusable, medicated or not. We also watched a large party come in and quickly leave after the owner visited their table. Frankly, if it weren't for Randy, we would have also left after interacting with the owner. Conclusion: This winery has a lot of potential and provides a really great product. Equally as important is the overall experience you provide to a patron. The experience is not a good one with Mark (the owner) in the picture. He tainted what would have been an easy 5 star review. Randy was the saving grace. As a business savvy person, I highly recommend keeping Mark as far away from customers as possible. He is a liability and will drive the business into the depths of extinction.

An absolute highlight of my trip to the Fingerlakes!…read more We were a large bachelorette party looking for an afternoon at a winery. This place was chosen for both the proximity to our Air BnB and also because it was more affordable then some of the other vineyards in the area. I will say with certainty that this place was the best part of our trip! The vineyard has a small but suitable selection of wines to taste - you can see my photo for the menu available at the time. Reservations are not taken on the weekends, but we were able to walk in with relatively no crowds. However, by the time we left, it was packed! All of us opted for a flight - which, for the prince, how could you go wrong? The staff was incredibly pleasant and attentive, and they TRULY knew their products. They weren't afraid to say, "I don't think you'll like this [based on your tastes], try this instead." In addition, they had a selection of local cheesed and meats for purchase, so we were able to have a wonderful charcuterie with our wines. After purchasing, we sat on their deck and simply enjoyed being outside with the scenic view. Truly, it looked like it was taken out of a movie - I felt like I was looking at a scenic photo in a dentist office or something, but in the best way! We are so proud to support a local business like this. If I'm ever in the area, I will be sure to add this vineyard to my stops!

Super cute spot with lots of unique cider options and great cornbread/desserts!…read more We tried the Funkhouse, Sparkling Cab Franc, Fruit of the Bloom, and Persici (in order from dry to sweet). My favorites were the Fruit of the Bloom which is infused with ginger as well as the Funkhouse. I liked how crisp the funkhouse was and I loved the ginger note in fruit of the bloom. The others were okyay too, persici was very sweet but paired nicely with the ginger hazelnut baklava which was incredible! I am allergic to pistachios, so I loved that I could eat their baklava! We also tried the cornbread with strawberry and jalapeno butter- absolutely incredible. I am from the south and have had a lot of cornbread but this truly stands out. It came out warm with a slight crunch from the crust while maintaining the perfect crumb inside. Just crumbly enough and not too try! I also really enjoyed the jalapeno and strawberry butters- you can tell they use high quality butter, they almost reminded me of goat cheese. I preferred the jalapeno butter a tad more but both were great! The exterior is beautiful- the views are very nice. I would highly recommend coming on a warm day and sitting outside. We initially sat on the balcony but moved due to the bees. The tables underneath the white tent were shaded and bee-free. Service was pretty quick- our ciders came out almost immediately. We had to wait ~10-15 minutes for the cornbread though, but I didn't mind especially given it was warm! Overall, I would highly recommend!

With its casual vibe and moderate price point, it's a stellar spot for a relaxed day date or a scenic group outing. Just roll up early since they don't take reservations!

Lunch itself, I had rather low expectations of, but the pasta with beef was actually really tasty! Nice and al dente and the vegetables were also superb! We did some more tastings after- loved the ice wine and the chardonnay (Waterfall)! Waterfall was perhaps my favorite wine (I'm partial to white wines). It was so unique! Come support the smaller wineries!!! They are much more in touch with their grapes and the whole process from start to finish. It was really interesting that they just decided to make a random icewine one year- which is likely something that would not have happened on a larger winery.
