We have been coming to KLV for at least the last 7 years or so. We have always been treated kindly and with respect. I cannot begin to guess how many bottles of wine we have purchased. Easily 200-300 hundred. After a few years we join the wine club. This is usually our very first stop each time to hit the lakes, 3-4 times yearly. (4+ hr drive) In fact, the older gentleman that I see mentioned in some of these reviews gave a personal tasting one year that was and still is one of the best we ever experienced. read more

A cute smaller winery in the area. Came here for a Bachelorette party and enjoyed the casual and rustic atmosphere. We pre-ordered the introductory flight, which included 5 different wines. All of their wines on this list are dry, but you were able to order off a different list and just pay the difference if you wanted something sweeter. The flight had 2 reds, 2 whites, and a rose. My favorite was the semi dry reisling. It had a smooth finish, good flavor, and a hint of sweetness. I wasn't a big fan of the dry rose, but the other wines were good too. I'm not an experienced wine drinker, but I didn't think the wines really varied in flavor a lot within this flight. They were all typical wines with nothing that really surprised me or blew me away. They also gave us very small servings to taste, only about 3 small sips worth. Our server was great in making sure we got everything we needed and finished the tasting in time for our next winery reservation. The building and scenery is also beautiful here. If I could live in Hammondsport... I would. The area is beautiful and peaceful. I really like Keuka Lake's Dry Riesling. It goes well with spicy Thai food. It isn't as good as some European wines but I prefer to support New York State. The vineyard is located a bit outside of Hammondsport. It seems to be a small vineyard. The tasting room is tiny and rustic. Nothing fancy here. Service is fine. Not too overbearing like so many other spots. Best to drink a glass of wine outside overlooking the vineyard and in the distance Keuka Lake. Breathe in the fresh air. When I was there a few Amish folks were fixing up what appeared to be the vineyard's barn. Traffic was minimal. We were there by ourselves for a good amount of time. This was a nice random find as we had seen it driving past on our way to where we were staying. Pretty nondescript on the outside, like a small house, with a simple sign, on a beautiful property though, but we didnt know what to expect. We called for reservations and "Michelle" was able to accommodate us in 15 minutes, and she greeted us at the door. It wasn't busy at all, and we sat in their small outdoor patio, only one other couple was there. I had the red + flight, $10 for 5 tastes. The vinges CO2 was a refreshing start, and the finish with the unique grape 2018 Leon Millet was excellent, a French - American hybrid grape. The pours were in small plastic containers, and i prefer real wine glasses for a full experience, but our host Michelle was pleasant and explained the wines well, so overall a nice experience. read more

They make some of the best wine in the finger lakes. The dry white wines are wonderful.

HAVE TO SEE my uncle and boyfriend and I dropped in. We met Carla at the tasting room and she was the best sommelier, representative, sales person, wine taster I have ever experienced. Granted, it wasn't a particularly busy day but she went over and above in her service. We learned so much about the vineyard and the owners and her work and the wine and each tasting was perfect. Do not come here. My partner and I made a reservation to visit the winery and were super excited to try the wines and experience the vineyard. Upon arrival, we were confronted by an older man who looked at us as if we were intruders and asked "WHO ARE YOU?" Rather than a welcoming host. I simply stated my name and the man went on to say he didn't recall my name and would check and that he hoped we wouldn't mind waiting a while. A few minutes later the man came back outside and continued to treat us as if we were unwelcome and he didn't want us in there. He had a snobby attitude and went on to tell us his vineyard is a place for high end wines and kept asking if we were sure we wanted to wait. Don't know why there was so much attitude but I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone. read more

Hostess was very RUDE. We arrived at 3:45 without a reservation and she practically threw us out. We went inside to look at some labels and other merch and she made it clear that we were a major inconvenience to her business. Not any way I would run a business. We have tried to get in here twice. Once last year and this past weekend. They pretty much ignored us when we walked in. There were 2 people in the room and the hostess didn't acknowledge us at all. Very rude. I will spend my hard earned money where I feel welcomed which from my experience is every winery I have been to other than this one. read more

We made a last minute reservation for a tasting and enjoyed everything about this little vineyard. The wines were great but what really stood out to us was the view and the service. Wonderful wine! They offer 5 tastes for $5 and it's completely worth it. We joined the wine club when we were there. You get 4 bottles a few times a year and the tastes are free. The tasting room has am excellent view. The staff are so knowledgeable and eager to help. It's an easy drive from hammondsport if you're planning a trip, just take a left up the hill after you leave town. We make it a point to stop by Keuka Lake Vineyards every time we visit! read more

We've been going to Keuka Lake Vineyards for a few years now and I'm a fan. It's a small winery so it can get crowded and you may have to wait for a tasting, but the tastings are good. It's average priced ($5 for 5 wines, I believe) and you can choose anything - versus having to follow a set list. The cab franc is so good - loaded with green pepper undertones - and the Leon Millot is hard to describe. It's very smooth - like a glass of red velvet. I never leave without taking a bottle of Leon home with me. The folks we went with didn't care for the wine, but my husband and I thought it was as good as ever. read more

Had a nice tasting here today with the owner and the winemaker. They don't have a lot of wines, but the ones they do carry some serious accolades, some even earning 90-92 points. I'll be in again. The Leon is their best red in my opinion, and we'll be back for more. read more

Despite the new signs that Keuka Lake Vineyard put up on the road, this one room vineyard was hard to find. It was worth the search. First of all, this was one of the only places that had stool at the tasting bar. And considering we had run a marathon the day before, that counts high on the star factor. Our hosts shared all of her favorites and dishes to pair with. Strange noises led us to believe that the place was haunted but she insisted it was the volumes of wine we had had. My two favorites were the 09 Cab Franc which was oaky and balanced. Also the 09 Gently Dry Vignoles was unique and memorable. read more

A little gem, located near Heron Hill and Bully Hill....wines are just as good as the former and blow the latter away. The tasting room is small but intimate and the pourers are very enthusiastic young ladies. Every wine is good to great, some reaching Dr. Frank in excellence. Especially the varieties of Dry Riesling - they had FOUR to try when we visited. All from different Keuka Lake vineyards, all tasty and perfect for the hot day outside. For reds, a solid cab franc and another new one for me, Leon Millot - similar to a lemberger. One star docked for the tightness of the outdoor area. We were on the wrong side of the lake fifteen minutes before closing time when we decided we simply had to go back.... A quick call rendered a promise to await our arrival. Pedal to the metal, we wound our way around the Y of beautiful Keuka Lake, and were warmly welcomed by a staff who surely had other plans for the Saturday evening of Memorial Day weekend that did not include working late. But there we were - bellied up to taste their truly spectacular Rieslings. They did not disappoint! There is much to praise about this vineyard, beyond the terrific staff and outstanding wines and view. We have visited many, if not most, of the wineries along Skaneateles, Cayuga, Seneca, and Keuka lakes. This is, by far, our favorite. We were poured several wines that were not on the tasting menu. Unlike many wineries in the area, Keuka Lake Vineyards does not charge for the tasting if you purchase three or more bottles. That is, in my opinion, extremely fair. I resent paying for an opportunity to taste wines in advance of purchase when the quality of the wines varies so greatly from one vineyard to the next. We joined their wine club (a hefty price, but worth it) and bought an additional case to bring home to NYC. The fact that the wines of this small vineyard are served at Eleven Madison Park, one of the finest restaurants in the city, comes as no surprise. They have won world-wide vintner awards and certainly offer up the best New York wineries have to offer. This was our third visit and it certainly won't be our last! read more

Magnificent whites and pretty good reds, Keuka Lake Vineyards offers a more personalized wine tasting experience. It's really easy to drive by the old white barn of Keuka Lake Vineyards, what with Dr. Frank and Heron Hill right up the road, but before you go to those wineries be sure to stop at this one. The tasting room is small with only a few pourers, but the personalized touch is one of this wineries strengths, along with their artisan whites. For the tasting, between myself and my girlfriend, we were able to try a good bit of the dry whites and the reds. They definitely make better whites than reds, beginning with the three Rieslings, each one different and just as good as the last. Dry drinkers will love the 2014 Estate Dry, a well balanced win with pears and citrus/acidity. If that wasn't acidic enough for you, try the 2014 Eastside Vineyard, with more minerality and a bright acidity. If you still want dry but a little sweeter, try the 2014 Evergreen - which is more floral on the nose, citrus and lime and a little sweeter (I didn't try any of the Semi-dry whites). While I really enjoyed the Rieslings, I loved the Vignoles - the 2014 Gently Dry was, well, gently dry with tropical fruit and crisp acidity. The bottle I walked out with was the 2015 Amber Vignoles, a white they left the skins on the grapes for for a little while, resulting in tannins and a taste the changes in your mouth with each sip. The reds aren't bad either - try that 2014 Cab Franc, which is loaded with green pepper. Overall, I would definitely add Keuka Lake to my list of must-visit Keuka wineries. The unique and exquisite whites they have here is reason enough, and the intimate tasting experience is a nice break from the massive wineries in the area. read more

They have a little tasting room on the SW part of Keuka Lake. It is kind of plain, but they focus on the wine, not decor. The staff was very nice and pleasant. The dry wines were a little too citrus forward, almost grapefruit like, too sharp. The port was very nice though and I bought that. The prices for bottles $14-28, seemed a little high for the quality of the wine. I have been twice over the years and both experiences were the same. read more

This is now my favorite Keuka Lake winery. I still love Ravines, and Dr. Frank, but this winery makes strong whites and reds using different vineyards. Having grown up in Penn Yan and visiting often since moving, I take pride in my lake and the wines produced from the area. I first sampled the Tin Pathi at Water Street Wine Bar in Penn Yan. We couldn't believe that this winery has been around for 11 years and we have never been. We went the next day to see what else they had to offer. They have a small, unassuming building right near the road. They are located between Heron Hill and Bully Hill wineries. We walked in and were greeted by a wonderful wine guide who was extremely friendly and loved answering all of our questions about KLV wines. We were so blown away that we joined the wine club AND bought 13 bottles to take home that day. The Rielsings, the Vignoles, the Cab Francs, all amazing. They have everything from dry to port. The atmosphere was very quaint and cozy. However, the woman pouring our wines was incredibly rude. She insulted two of the people in our group and did a terrible job serving us. She did not allow us to choose the five wines we would try and just started pouring. She would pour the new wine on top of what we were drinking without waiting for us to finish what was already in the glass. She didn't tell us what she was pouring and when my friend asked to try a specific wine, she poured the wrong one (we saw which bottle she poured from). As we were drinking our last tasting, she told another group that we were leaving and they could have our spots. She was incredibly rude when we pointed out that we didn't get to try what we had wanted to try. We left without purchasing anything and absolutely would not go back. We had excellent experiences at all the other places we went, we're happy to give our business to them. read more
