This place is one of the worst run businesses I have ever had experience with. They will lie and obfuscate for days to cover their butts when they get caught doing a bait and switch. They changed their story over and over to avoid honoring a sale price. Three different "managers" promised to honor the sale price for days until finally I was told my paid-for order was cancelled. Never going to this place again for anything. Stay away. They wasted days of my time and told me repeatedly how much they appreciated my patience and understanding, only to totally screw me over. read more

Shame on you Atwoods for doing the bait and switch. Your ad clearly says take "an additional." 50% off at the register of all clearance items. I loaded up my cart and got to the register and the clerk said that she could not honor the discount. She called the manager, and the manager said the discounts have already been applied to the tags. That is not what the ad says. They even called corporate and corporate said no additional discounts at the register, even though their ad clearly says it. So I immediately tried to call corporate back and conveniently no one is answering after nine phone calls. I even left a message. I will not be going back. read more

The staff here is horrible! Customer service does not exist....instead of being greeted with a simple hello, the associate complained about being tired and had to work all week. I went to buy some jeans that were marked for 50% off (rock n roll jeans) and even tho in the system it didn't show up I took a picture to show the sign was still up (so that's not my problem) the cashier wanted to work with me because 3 employees saw the videos where it was 50% off but at the end an older white lady manger decided that it wasn't the same brand even tho it was and I had the picture to prove it and it sucked that she made me feel like I was trying to steal from the store when I love that store I always go for work boots and clothes I only rate this store a 2 star and not a 1 star because I actually like Atwoods as a store but can't say the same for there mangers read more

Countless times, I have been inside this store and just as many times I have walked out empty handed. I was there tonight 11/5/25 to buy a firearm. David showed up after someone else rang the bell at the counter several minutes later. I asked for a gun that was on sale and his response? Is it 8:00? It was 7:40pm when I arrived at the counter and 7:51pm when he showed up to help. Apparently, they don't sell guns after 8:00pm unless you have a license. He asked if I had one and I said I did. He then got on the computer to check the inventory and then opened the safe. The one I asked for was not there. Then he mumbled something about layaway and "checking in the back." When he returned, I showed him my military ID to get a discount for the ammunition I got from the shelf. You get a 10% discount for being a veteran. He looked at me and mumbled again, something about the system. I said I don't know what you are talking about. He said, "have you bought a firearm here before?" I said I had and when I do buy them, I always buy them from Caleb or Fred and get great customer service without any problems. He seemed to be extremely put off by simply doing his job. I said "you know what? I am going to leave. Your customer service is terrible." And I took back my ID from him and walked off. He said "you're wrong." I said "if I were wrong, I would be buying a gun from you right now." If you enjoy being treated like trash when you are not being ignored, go to Atwoods in Lake Worth. If you enjoy saving your money and your sanity, and want to buy a gun at 8:55pm go to Academy, Bass Pro or Cabela's. Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops give a military discount on everything you buy, even 5% off on firearms which includes firearms on sale. Also, you will get treated with respect and with a smile... Love going for all my project needs. Spray paint, sand paper, brushes etc. really wish they would get more of a variety and current styles in women's clothing department. They have got better this past year but still not as good as they could be. I bet they'd easily become the go to place since we don't have Cavender's and boot barn close by. I read a lot of bad reviews I've had nothing but a great experience at this location. My only complaint is they were out of there brand of feed once but that happens at all stores that carry a quality feed at a reasonable price. Still beats T. S. On feed and definitely a lot more to choose from as far as merchandise. read more

So i have been going to Atwoods since they opened in Lake Worth, Texas. I really love this store up until yesterday. Anytime I have gone in I get asked if I need any help and everyone who works there is super nice. Until yesterday. I went in to purchase 4 yes 4 pairs of boys boots. They are all birthday presents and one pair I'm sending to Virginia. So i get to the counter to check out and the guy checking me out not only never smiled or said anything pleasant actually ROLLED HIS EYES at me when I asked if there was anyway I could get another box for one that was torn up. I told him I have to ship it to Virginia and it is a birthday present. He just looked at me and said no. I was like are you sure? he huffed and said yes. handed me my receipt and started talking to the other cashier. I love atwoods but if I go back (IF) i will not let being treated like that go again. The manager's need to do a better job at hiring people that work with the public. Customer Service from the male cashier should be addressed. I was going to ask him name but he pretty much dismissed me so that he could flirt with the other cashier. read more

Waited over 15 minutes at the gun counter. Rang that bell so many times. Flagged down two different employees and still no one could help us out. Three other customers rang the bell or were waiting behind us for help. Even more frustrating was walking back out the front and seeing 5 employees laughing and hanging out at the checkout line, but no one could find someone to help us? We just needed fishing licenses. One gentlemen waiting behind us needed ammo and another couple rang the bell and left after it was clear no one cared about giving us service. Very unhappy with lake Worth Atwood's. Purchased a crossbow and was told by manager if anything is wrong or happens to bring it back for exchange due to hole in box. After shooting only 4 times the string broke. Called Atwood's they said bring it back the lady said same thing happened 3 days ago and they replaced it. Well a manager brought an email dated the 17th of nov, stating you can't return to store. I purchased this on 19th and was told to bring it back for an exchange if it there was a problem. Was told 3 different stories while there and still stuck with a defective item. Seems like management needs to get their employees on the same page. read more

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!!! Ordered something from them on line and it was in stock when I ordered it and they didn't waste anytime taking the money out of my account the second I ordered it and the item was supposed to be delivered with 5 to 7 days after I ordered it. I received a e-mail 4 days after I ordered it and after they have already took the money out saying my order has been canceled because oops their stock was wrong and they didn't have the item I ordered after all. So I called them and they basically said oh we are sorry but our stock was wrong and that's it ! Really! So because they apparently can't control their stock or someone doesn't know how to count or actually know how to do their job right I get oh we are sorry but at least we gave you your money back. Worst customer service ever. Beware when ordering from these people on line because it might say it's in stock it probably isn't! Save your time and just go buy from someone who actually knows how to take care of their customers!!!! Buyers beware!! I have to give a star for them because yelp will not let me post this without one but I do not agree with this .
