I've been to ATX Food twice now, which usually doesn't happen before I post a review, but I kept thinking about it and wanted to go back. This trailer is just in front of the Trek bike shop on South Lamar, not out on the street, so it took me a second to find it. It's a great little setup with big covered picnic tables and plenty of space to hang out. Trek also lets you use their bathroom, which is actually really convenient, just head inside and all the way to the back. The food here feels genuinely nourishing. It's vegan and very vegetable forward in a way that doesn't feel preachy, just fresh and intentional. The tacos are especially unique. The tortillas are made from spelt and garbanzo flour, and they remind me a bit of the tangy, pancake-like bread you get with Ethiopian food. It gives the tacos this unexpected flavor and texture that works surprisingly well. The toppings tasted fresh every time, and the tempeh has a smoky flavor, so if you're into that, you'll be happy. I didn't realize at first how customizable the menu is, but you can add all kinds of toppings and extras. They also do full coffee service plus a big smoothie lineup. The smoothies come with sea moss, which I wasn't familiar with before, but they're clearly big believers in it as a nutritional boost. Service was friendly both times. Once they even brought my food out to me! Either way, they were kind and attentive. You can also ask for water even though they don't have self-serve jugs out. The electrified blueberry pancakes were a little dense for my liking, but WOW did I unexpectedly love the Mossy Cacao Elixir. Delicious! I got a BBQ "brisket" entree which was wholly satisfying and full of goodies. Am I a vegan? No. Do I want and need healthy fiber and veggies? Absolutely. I was really grateful to be able to have a healthy and delicious plant based option when visiting Austin! I went for lunch one day and got the breakfast taco, the bbq brisket Tempeh taco, and the coconut squash soup. Everything was delicious! The breakfast taco was my favorite, followed very closely by the squash soup and the brisket taco was also great! I'm shocked to say this but the only thing I would have changed is to have less avocado on the tacos. They sure are generous with their avocado portions! I went back again to try the blueberry pancakes which looked phenomenal. In my opinion, they were just OK but I loved the blueberry topping. I spent the past three days in Austin, and I can't stop thinking about how badly I want a place like this in Florida. Also going to preface by saying there's very little places that will leave you feeling this good after eating. I tried the Mossy Cacao Hot - 10/10. Whoever described it as perfectly sweet and velvety I 100% agree. I tried it cole as well with banana and cinnamon added and it was reminiscent of a chocolate frosty. You definitely taste the moss more in the hot version but it didn't bother me. I tried the Lucky Squash Taco, BBQ brisket and mushroom taco. I would say the lucky squash wasn't my personal favorite, but the BBQ brisket was a solid 8/10 I think some crushed walnuts would bump it up ! Good gracious Stir Fry 9/10 - HUGEEE portion and the sauce made it. Just wish I would've had a second container since it was so much and some got left without sauce. But the mushroom tacos just did it for me. Blew everything out of the water. Definitely recommend it and I wish I would've had more time to try everything. read more

This is out GO-TO place in town. Whenever we aren't quite sure where we want to eat, we always come back to ATX Food Co. It's because it is so damned good! Ironically, we always seem to get the same thing, too, because we can't resist. My husband always gets the Good Gracious bowl (no quinoa, extra avocado), and I cannot pass up the mushroom tacos. The flavor of both dishes is so full. I seriously want to make a run just writing about it! They have a decent outdoor seating area, although be warned that masks are not the norm in the seating area, so if you take that seriously, get it to go. Staff has always been friendly to me. If I had to make a complaint - and we are reaching here - it is that the only nut milk available (and in every smoothie) is walnut milk, which is the only nut I don't/can't have. This was the most disgusting food I have ever had in my life. I had to throw away the entire meal which was like 30 bucks.. I literally have no idea how anyone was eating that food. The taco "tortilla" was like a weird sponge texture the brisket "meat" was soooo gross ..just not tasty and texture was off the mushroom taco was like canned mushrooms( not saying it was but it tasted like it) the salsa wasn't tasty or spicy. The kombucha was so gross and undrinkable, I traded it for a lemonade thing and that was also undrinkable. Absolutely nothing was good about the food. I don't understand how this place exists. I swear I am not being mean it really is uneatable. I wanted to ask the people around me how are you possibly eating this? Like that's how shocked it was.
