I called for a tow at 3:15. I got an ETA of 4:56. At 5:00 I called and they were still at least an hour and a half away. I cancelled the tow and will make other arrangements. Thankfully my car is just in my driveway and I was not stuck out on the road like some of the reviews I've seen here. This is not the first time I've had a bad experience with Armada Towing. This company was sent to my house to change a tire via AAA. The worker stripped 2 of my lug nuts which made it impossible to get the spare off. When I called them, they said to bring it to their shop. When I arrived at the address listed online, I was told that Armada towing went out of business. When I called them multiple times, no one answered. So now I am spending $100 to have the lug nuts melted off and had to buy new ones. Armada is a TOTAL SCAM. They messed up my car and did nothing to fix it. read more

I don't know about their services, but I just saw one of their drivers get out at a stoplight on William cannon to inform a driver their tire was loose and wobbling, and that's the sort of caring for each other we need in this world. This is something out of an SNL skit. You can't make this stuff up -- Called AAA and they sent their boy over to meet me at FM 2244 in Austin. Took him 40 minutes, which is reasonable but a little slow. He arrives and sees me, so I wave him into a business center I was able to park my truck in when it broke down; then I stand by my truck and wait for him to park. Rather than coming greet me, he goes into the business center lot downhill and gets to work. I think he's turning around to come up the hill and get a better loading angle, but then I get a call from him sitting in his cab. He's yelling at me to come down the hill and give him the key. Confused, I oblige his request. He doesn't greet me or confirm who I am, but snatches the key and gets back in his truck. 5 minutes later, he starts towing THE WRONG VEHICLE. I yell at him to stop, so he just laughs at the mistake and gets back I in his truck. Called AAA to send another driver (they sent First Call Towing - Jimmy was awesome!) Do not trust these guys with your business. I called to speak to the manager, who was "out for office supplies". I called the guy on this story, but he assured me his manager would be back and call me later that day. No call back. As someone who has been a contractor for years, customer service is everything. These guys should be working at McDonalds or something that doesn't require the same degree of professionalism. Abso horrid service. Cancel the driver request RIGHT NOW if one of their trucks is en route. I've recommended AAA drop them as a sponsored driver. I'll be calling them tomorrow to make sure the request was filed. Completely avoid this company. If I could leave a 0, I would have, because one star is far too much credit. No one expects an accident to happen and it's a shame when you're involved in one. There was a lot of ice on New Years Eve which caused my car crash into a guardrail. The police department called up the quickest tow company, ATX VIP/Armada and the initial tow was quick and well done. I really needed the car back to decide what to do with it but their office was closed on the 1st - totally fair. I check back on the 2nd and I am told that there aren't enough drivers to move the car but the girl at the front recommended coming back in the morning. Their signs say open at 8 am but I was told ",We don't come until 9." (What??) So I'm there early on the 3rd and pay to have the car released and towed to my home all in about 15 minutes. I put my phone number on the paperwork and she sets the expectation that it would be delivered the same day. The day goes on but I don't get a phone call though. I wait until the morning on the 4th and call after 9 (because of the "We don't come until 9" crap) and I am told, "We are holding a lot of cars right now but I'll try to get a driver to move it today". So I wait, but the like the 3rd, no phone call and no car. I call again on the 5th and I get the same response with a twist at the end - "If we can't do it today it will be there on Saturday at 8 am." My gut feeling told me I wasn't going to see the car on Friday and sure enough, the car shows up on Saturday the 6th. The car's in bad shape and the driver tries to roll the car off the flatbed but the front passenger tire is actually off the driveshaft so the tire doesn't roll. I kindly tell the driver, "Hey if you haven't seen, it's not rolling because the tire is snapped off," and then the driver gets very defensive and seems to be more upset about the situation than I am. He commented, "I know about the damn tire, it ain't my fault, it's my job to pull it up here and get it off." Since the tire was preventing the car from rolling, I had to watch the car get damaged even more just to get it off the flatbed when a regular wheel lifting truck would have been much better. This company lacks sympathy, integrity, and punctuality. Absolutely awful. read more

Our Lexus Hybrid wouldn't start and was stuck in our garage with a dead battery. It also made strange noises. We called AAA, and they contacted Armada Towing to come by in the afternoon and tow our car to the Lexus dealer for repair. It was late in the day, and we didn't want to leave the car at the dealer overnight, so we cancelled. We called AAA the next morning, and Armada was dispatched to our home quickly and as scheduled. The technician said he would try to jump the battery first before towing it to the dealer. The battery in this car is located inside the trunk, and since it was a hybrid, I was unsure if he could do it. He successfully jumped the battery and got our car started. We quickly drove it around and have driven it daily with no problem. The technician saved us a big bill at the dealer and also a towing fee. I didn't get the name of the technician who came out, but we appreciate his expertise and professionalism and that of the Armada employee who dispatched him to us. I am so glad that AAA contracts with Armada. read more

If I could put ZERO stars I would. Armada Towing /ATX-VIP Towing likes to keep elderly, female disabled veterans sitting in the heat for over 4 hours, because their dispatcher is in a bad mood. After waiting for an hour and a half, was told it would be another 45 minutes. I got upset because it was 98 degrees outside, and was in severe pain from sitting that long already. I was told the world doesn't revolve around me, and he threatened to not send the truck. Let's just say I hope he has NO business to worry about in the future, because if this is how you treat people, you don't deserve any. Oh and this was a AAA towing. Do not trust this towing service or company. They stole items from my car (or allowed them to be stolen while in their care.) My 3 year old son and I were hit by another car on I-35. I managed to pull to the side of the shoulder of the highway and called the police. My car was totaled and not drive-able and the police officer who arrived at the scene called ATX-VIP Towing service to come tow my car. The tow truck driver came and picked up my car. He was friendly enough and towed my car off the highway and to a nearby parking lot so that I could remove a few things from my car before towing it to their 7508 Bluff Springs Rd location. He left the car on his truck while I scrambled to remove a few big items from the trunk of the car. I was not able to remove everything because I wasn't able to get into the front of the car. I also wasn't thinking clearly because I'd just been in a frightening accident. A few days later my insurance called to say that the car was totaled. I went to remove the rest of the items from my car only to realize that many item of mine had been stolen, either by the tow truck driver or while on the towing lot. I am disgusted that this company would take advantage of a person who had just been in an accident. While reading these other reviews I realize that I am not the first person this had happened to. Many others have also had their items stolen while their cars were in the care of this company too. They have the perfect scam going because I was unable to prove that the items that were stolen were in my car at the time. I have filed a police report and left a review with the Better Business Bureau as well. AAA should not be supporting this company as they are crooks. Another note, the tow truck driver handed me his business card when he picked up my car. Unfortunately it did not have his name on it, but it does have the address and phone number on the card. Strangely the card lists "Armada Towing Service" as their business name, though the address of 7508 Bluff Springs Rd lists ATX-VIP Towing as the company name. My 16 year old daughter was in a car accident, her car wasn't driveable. APD called a tow truck and the driver left without telling us where he was taking the car and without asking if we wanted it towed to a location of our choice. After calling 18 times I received no information regarding where my car was. I talked to someone at 10:30pm but apparently they had closed for the day and the owner couldn't figure out which one of his drivers had picked up the vehicle. Jonathan came to help me unlock my 2004 Lexus car because I'd locked my keys in the trunk. I mention the model of car because it's an older model AND because it has safety features I was totally unaware of! Once he got into the car, the safety feature overrode the button I normally push to unlock my trunk. Jonathon quickly figured out he could get access to the trunk from the backseat! He had the trunk opened within minutes!! Armada will be who I call if I'm ever in need of Towing or help with a locked car in Austin. I called for a tow via my AAA Roadside Assistance. Their truck showed up at about 4 am. I told them my car would not start and I needed it to be towed. They tried to jump start it then took out a large pole and began to beat on my starter. After they could not start the car they towed it to my repair shop, AAMCO in Cedar Park. AAMCO said they cracked the starter and that alone was a $373 repair bill. There were two guys who showed up in the tow truck. One was the actual employee. I later learned the second guy was the employee's friend who beat on my starter. Needless to say, I do not know of any company that allows employees to bring their friends to beat on people's cars. I called the company and told them that one of the two people damaged my car. They claimed both of them were employees and that one was in training. The one who was the driver (Ramon) spoke broken English but the other one (trainee or friend) spoke no English whatsoever. They provided me with Ramon's name but not the other person. Why they would not provide it I did not know why. They said their manager, Aly Ahmed would call me tomorrow. I got a call at 712 pm from their phone number (512) 251-8884. The man who called refused to identify himself or his company but yelled at me and used profanity and hung up, telling me I was not allowed to call them ever again or he would have me arrested. I told them I would call ICE to report possible unlawful hiring of undocumented persons. Evidently they did not like that. read more

Contracted by AAA to replace a battery, would be at my house at ten mins to 3:00. At 2:00 I took a conference call for work. They called and my phone beeped, but my call on hold to answer, they hung up. After my call at 2:30 I found a voice mail that said tech was at my house. I phoned back, was put on hold. After a minute person asked my city, then what kind of car. Then I was put on hold. Then the person came back and asked my name. I told him. Then he hung up on me. Five minutes later the tech phoned and said, and I quote, "I'll be there in five minutes. Can you be outside?" I said, "uh, I guess?" and then he hung up on me. Angered, I phoned AAA and told them to cancel. The tech then showed up and phoned, "are you outside?" I said no, I had cancelled because I didn't have time or patience for his attitude. He hung up on me again. No apologies, just an asshole. Do not use these people. read more

Was sent someone from this place after I called AAA to replace a flat tire. The guy arrived, took the tire off, claimed I didn't have the right tools for him to get the spare, put the tire back on and left. All without explaining what he was doing or attempting to help in any way. When I asked what tools he needed to put the spare on he couldn't give me a straight answer. After he left I changed the tire myself with the tools that I showed him, so clearly he just wanted to be lazy and unhelpful. These guys towed my vehicle that was involved in a collision. They then released my vehicle to a third party without my consent. They didn't call to authorize the release of the vehicle. The third party had no authority to take the vehicle. My belongings were in the vehicle. My belongings are now lost. Their voicemail is full and they do not answer calls. read more

AAA dispatched Armada to take my car from my home to the dealership, which assured me the car could be left after they closed. Two hours later, Armada driver AJ called and said he can't leave my car there; the gate is locked after hours. AJ only called - he never went to the dealership. After more calls and time passed, I learned that the dealership gate was not locked yet. I called AJ and asked him to please get my car before the gate would be locked at 9pm. Another Armada driver - Edward - showed up quickly and I was impressed. When I met Edward at my car, he asked what was wrong with it. I said all of the warning lights are on and I'm afraid to drive it. He started lecturing me about what may be wrong with it, and when I got frustrated and said "please just tow the car," he threatened to leave - twice. I never raised my voice and I was not rude - just impatient. It was cold. I had to finesse him like a bratty child to get him to do his job. He told me the first driver didn't want the job because he would be paid more to take APD rotation. It turns out that was probably true, so AJ probably lied to me. I know there is a worker shortage, but nobody needs to talk to someone out in the cold, with a broken down car, like that. Two stars instead of one, because Edward did a good job, as soon as I didn't have to baby him and listen to him anymore. The dealership has a 24/7 security guard who accepts cars at all hours. read more

Worst towing experience ever. I called to get a tow truck out to a very reasonable ad easily accessible part of inside San Marcos. They told me that they would be there at 8:05 am. I was down there at 7:15 just in case they came a little early or for whatever reason. I waited around until 8:30 when I called and asked them why the tow truck hasn't come yet. I was told that they swung by and didn't see anyone there and the car was locked so they couldn't tow it. I then told the guy that I have been there for approx an hour and a half to which he has no answer as to why the driver 'didn't see me' (I was the only car on the street at the time). He told me that they would get another guy out there right after he finished his current job so in about 30/45 minutes, if I could just leave the keys under the mat they'd take care of it. So I did and walked back the half mile to my apt. Later I got a call saying they didn't do it because I was blocked since my car stopped working in parallel park. So I walk all the way back down and at this point the time had started on the street parking. I saw there was parking on both sides but not so close as to make an issue when towing. I sat there and waited another 3 hours to see if the other car owners would come back and get their cars and leave because then I could just stand in and hold their spot for the truck. I called again and they said they cancelled the order a couple hours ago! When I asked why they just hung up on me. Later I come to find out that they have the equipment to tow a car that's stuck in a parallel park situation. So all in all they are late, lazy, rude, and have no problem lying to their customers who have been patiently waiting hours for them to show up. read more

I called AAA with a dead battery this past Saturday and within 20 minutes or so Osama from Armada Towing arrived. Very professional and kind. He jumped the battery and ran some tests and told me I had a bigger problem as the alternator wasn't getting the juice it needed. I asked him to install a new battery which he did quickly and thankfully that fixed the problem. I was very happy with his service and his knowledge and his willingness to explain everything to me. Good luck trying to get to your car. They don't staff the location and you have to call for one hour notice. I've tried several times to get to my car but only ended up waiting hours for staff that never shows. Here my car doors locked away collecting storage fees. I just hope my body shop has better luck than I do. This is a headache I don't need after being hit by another driver. If the police ever ask me if my opinion again it won't be this company. read more
