Since pictures speak louder than words- here are some photos of our ELEVEN year old deck despite the fact that we stained it and water proofed it every year as instructed. We haven't been able to use any part of our backyard for the last 2 years because it is too dangerous to step outside. Due to no fault of our own we had 8-16" holes, crumbling boards and sunken steps that are too dangerous to walk on. Imagine telling your children they can't go out back! The contractor we unfortunately hired has blamed everyone else but himself: the company he purchased the wood from, the company who pressure treated it prior to it ever being on the shelves, the company that manufactured the nails (they are supposed to use deck grade screws) it has been truly unbelievable to hear all of the excuses. During the removal (of course he refused to do it himself or help pay for it) we discovered just how badly rotten our "pressure-treated" support beams were. He also left all construction debris underneath since he knew it would be covered and we wouldn't know. Just terrible craftsmanship and use of inferior products all around, despite charging us for premium supplies. Please neighbors and friends - do not ever let Pat Johnston touch a project in your home. Luckily for us it's an exterior deck. I can't imagine if he made these glaring errors in a kitchen, bathroom or any other crucial place within the home. He re-branded and changed names recently. So please take care in your research that you don't accidently come across him.

I email customer service, explain the situation and ask them to contact me. No one contacts me. The only email I receive is a confirmation my order is cancelled. No explanation for what happened or an apology for the inconvenience. I would rather pay more money elsewhere than deal with this level of poor service again. So disappointed.

There was little to no product knowledge, no proactive communication about arrivals or delays, and no clear ownership of delivery or installation requirements. I repeatedly found myself chasing down answers across multiple departments, often days or even hours before scheduled deliveries. Customer service initially expressed concern, but that concern quickly turned into silence. Multiple representatives simply stopped responding, leaving me to assume the strategy was to wait it out and hope I'd give up. At no point did this experience justify choosing a specialty retailer over a big box store. In fact, it did the opposite. There is no scenario in which I could recommend Gerhard's to anyone making an appliance purchase, especially for a remodel where coordination and competence actually matter. Both of the owners, Gil and Marisol were friendly and helpful. Their price was competitive with other places but it was the fact that they went above and beyond to answer our questions that made us decide to purchase our vanities through them. It was nice to deal with a local business. The vanities were delivered quickly and there were no problems. We did not know before we went to their showroom that they also provide remodeling services.
