The absolute worst service experience. First and last time using Gerhard's Appliances. I was emailed two delivery time frames. I accepted 8-12am. Driver calls me @ 6:31am asking where I am? Shows up @ 7:08am. We were sleeping. I contact the driver and he tells me I should have been ready. Customer Service is not available until 9am to discuss the matter. I email customer service, explain the situation and ask them to contact me. No one contacts me. The only email I receive is a confirmation my order is cancelled. No explanation for what happened or an apology for the inconvenience. I would rather pay more money elsewhere than deal with this level of poor service again. So disappointed. read more

Multiple representatives simply stopped responding, leaving me to assume the strategy was to wait it out and hope I'd give up. At no point did this experience justify choosing a specialty retailer over a big box store. In fact, it did the opposite. They are prime examples of nepotism. And really avoid working with Allie Gerhard. After the first failed delivery, she did not even bother to contact me. In the past we ordered and installed appliances from Gerhard's Appliances Doylestown. Took longer than quoted, and we had to jump through hoops to get the rebates they said they would give. Never gave us the tax-free rebates. Now we are looking for a Miele dishwasher not in stock where we usually now buy appliances. So I tried Gerhard's. Called the number, old, grumpy-sounding man answered and when I inquired if the dishwasher was in stock he said no. I then asked if he knew when it would be available if we ordered one, and he asked me "how should I know?" I asked, "don't you have a way to see when it would be in stock?" I chose Gerhard's to purchase our appliances from after we bought our house seven years ago. Since then we purchased a dishwasher, washing machine and two microwaves from them. The first microwave kept cutting out so we purchased an LG one in Dec 2024. A couple of weeks after the one yr mfg warranty expired the light stopped working. I called Gerhard's and was told to call a repair service who was going to charge more than we paid for the microwave. I then called Gerhards customer service to see if they could assume some of the repair cost since we only had the microwave a short time. Their customer svc rep told me they couldn't do anything. I had a terrible experience with Gerhards pre pandemic with receiving damaged goods, delivery times changing, and getting replacements for the damaged products so I stayed away for awhile. I found myself in need of a new dishwasher and thought I'd give a local business another try. Nope! My dishwasher was delivered with 2 huge dents in the front. They offered me a discount to take it just so they wouldn't have to restock. Then would not work with me on the delivery time of a new one. I had already taken a day off work for the delivery of the damaged one. But they could not accommodate a request for the new one to be delivered in a morning time slot. It's been two weeks now. I have cancelled my order and will be taking my business elsewhere and won't be going back. I knew I was making the right decision when I requested the cancellation and the guy just said okay. I bought a dishwasher Gerhard's and was charged twice for installation. I pre-paid $159 for "dishwasher installation service" when I bought the new appliance. Then, when they showed up to install the new dishwasher I was told that I needed to pay the delivery guys an extra $110 (they asked for cash!) to wire up the new dishwasher. I felt like I was being taken advantage of. My old dishwasher was already removed and sitting out on the sidewalk. My choice was to pay the $110 or let the guys leave me with a gaping hole in my kitchen and no dishwasher. Reluctantly I paid the extra $110 knowing that the good folks at Gerhard's would make things right eventually. For more than 5 months Gerhard's gave me the run around... The delivery department blamed sales. Sales blamed delivery. A nice woman in accounting tried to help me out, but to no avail. I eventually gave up and ate the $110. I've purchased all of my appliances for my home as well as my business for as long as I can remember. I had to replace my washer/dryer at the house last week. I called because the dryer door needed to be reversed as there is zero room to open it the way it was installed. When I called I was told it would be $90 to fix this issue. We recently purchased a GE dishwasher from Gerhard's; we wanted to buy locally, and since they said that their "installers" were also locally sourced and vetted by them, we figured we'd get a better experience from them than if we went to one of the big box stores. The dishwasher we were looking at was fairly priced, and there were no real issues when purchasing, as we knew what we wanted and the sales person really didn't need to do much "selling". We scheduled a time for the dishwasher to be delivered and installed, and since it'd be better to have it delivered in the afternoon, I requested some time after 12:00pm. This was my first issue (albeit not a big one, but an inconvenience worth mentioning to those looking to purchase from Gerhard's): they said that they couldn't put in the actual time of the delivery, but they'd put in there that the afternoon would be better. I get a message the next day that the delivery would be in the morning...I responded to the email stating that I needed it in the afternoon, as no one would be around to receive it in the morning; they told me that they could not control when the unit was going to be delivered, and I'd have to reschedule altogether. That's fine, as it was rescheduled for the next day in the afternoon. The installer came, and went about the delivery and installation. All seemed fine, as they tested the installation in front of me, I signed off, and then they went off on their way. This brings me to my next issue: when I tried to open an adjacent cabinet drawer, I found that part of the installation screw had gone into the drawer, and as it opened, gouged out the side of the drawer (see attached pics). These drawers are relatively new, and now one is damaged because of an inept installer. My third issue is this: I sent a message to the Gerhard delivery email address telling them what happened, and the response I got was that they would have to have the installer contact me; this SCREAMS to me "We don't stand behind our work", and that's a HUGE red flag for me. Needless to say, the installer never reached out. I waited a week, then I called the Gerhard's Customer Service line and told them what happened - they transferred me to their Delivery department, who then told me that...they need to have the installer contact me. Again, after another week, I received no response. In looking through other negative reviews for Gerhard's, it appears that a "representative" posts a canned reply to "contact us directly" so "we can help make this right!" - a note on that...I did contact their customer service, and no effort (not even an apology) was made to even remotely address the issue. Almost two weeks later and I am still waiting for a response. Buyer beware when dealing with them that once the sale is made, you are pretty much on your own to fix any issues. If you're handy and can install these yourself, you may have no issues with them...but if you're like most homeowners dealing with purchasing and installing an appliance, you may want to go somewhere else for a better experience. read more

If you are thinking about getting a new appliance at Gearhard's, beware of their 50% back warranty. I purchased a product and asked how I would know when five years was up so I could get my 50% warranty claim returned. I was told I would be notified. Going to fill out the claim form today I realize I was not notified Both Gerhard and their insurance company, New Leaf, told me you're too late and we don't ever notify you. so if It's more than 30 days past warranty you are out all the money. I recently purchased 11 new appliances from Gerhard's. I spent more than $60,000 with them. I was very excited to get my new appliances, but my excitement turned to disappointment when the delivery and installation process was a complete disaster. All but 2 were either improperly instilled or damaged by their delivery team. The first problem was that they could never tell me when my appliances would arrive. Every time that I called, I was given a totally different answer. Then I was told that all of my appliances had to be delivered by them at one time and that they could not deliver them to me as they received them. This happened for months. It got to the point that Gerhard's would not even return my phone calls. Then I found out from the manufacturer that Gerhard's had never placed an order with them in the first place. Here are some of the things that happened. When the appliances finally arrived, the delivery guys damaged my refrigerator and freezer so badly that they both had to be completely replaced by the manufacturer. They never fastened my refrigerator drawers to the ground, so they damaged my floors and caused the unit to tip. My ice maker was not installed correctly, so water drained all over my floor and caused my downstairs ceiling to be be replaced. They delivered the wrong size under-counter refrigerator and tried to charge me a restocking fee to exchange it for the correct one. It literally took months of fighting with them to get the appliances delivered and 6-8 months of working with the manufacturer to fix Gerhard's mistakes. I would not recommend Gerhard's to anyone. The delivery and installation process was a complete disaster, and I feel like I was treated like an afterthought. I will never shop at Gerhard's again. We live in the Philadelphia area...There are many other shopping options. Advice: If you are considering buying appliances from Gerhard's, I would strongly advise you to reconsider. I had a very negative experience with this store, and I would not want anyone else to go through the same thing. I would recommend that you shop at a different appliance store that has a better reputation for customer service. So here's the thing, I hate writing this because for years I've really liked this place. We have bought a number of appliances from Gerhardts over the last 15 years, but we recently used them again (for a washer and dryer) ... and everything since delivery has been a total mess. We had 2 relatively minor issues that they absolutely fled from helping us with. Given past encounters, I would've expected them to be able to help with correcting either of the issues, but instead I was just left super disappointed with how all this went down. I spent a few hours last night fixing everything myself (with the help of YouTube and the manual). I had a great experience with Gerhardt's for a new "over the stove" installed microwave. I spoke with John (from Ardmore?) who was my sales person and he helped me - over the phone - to order the correct model and made sure it would fit (it did). I scheduled my installation date and the evening before got a text and 3 emails stating my "window" of 9 AM - 1 PM. At 9:03 AM, 2 lovely gentlmen came, installed the new microwave (took 17 minutes) tested it and left. Maybe I just got lucky, but I had a super smooth experience with Gerhardts. Tried to by local- heard mixed reviews about Gerhards but wanted to give them a chance. Installation was not great, as they asked for a surprise cash payment of $150 when they showed up after I specifically asked them if there were any other charges once I paid at the store and they said no. But I liked the dishwasher and thought it was a fair price. dishwasher lasted 14 months. repairman said the back looked like someone took a sledgehammer to the back- clearly damaged before it was installed!! Gerhards is say since i signed off on it it was fine - who knew when you hire a company to install it, it is your responsibility to look at the back and underneath??? I have the exact same experience of so many others here. I purchased a GE washing machine, and once there was an issue while under warranty, I was passed off the the third party repair service which took two weeks and three visits. I had to argue with Gerhard's multiple times to help me get the issue resolved, otherwise, it probably would have taken a month. They really do not provide the support you would expect a family business to provide. Additionally, I called for service on a Blue Star oven, which they did not install. I was looking for service, and as soon as I'm transferred, it goes to some third party. They charge $130 just to come out, and that doesn't go toward parts and labor. Delivery came 2 days later, but they left the box and packaging hidden on the side of my house. I cannot speak strongly enough to how horrible of an experience I had with Gerhard's. Gerhard's was recommended to me by friends and I could not be more disappointed. First, they delivered a damaged washing machine. On the second delivery attempt, they did not have the drain hose and said it would be another week to get this critical part. Service repairman came quickly (I have no problem with them) and showed me a major dent in back of cabinet leaking water, which installers missed. Gerhards is waiting to hear back from KitchenAid about a solution while I have a dishwasher I cant use - several days after service people reported the issue. Seems to me that Gerhards should install a new replacement and settle with KitchenAid themselves. They owe customers first attention. I do not understand the negative reviews on Yelp. I have always received the best customer service and the best sales advice when purchasing appliences here. Last year we purchased an induction range and last week a refrigerator and a microwave. The experience from purchasing to installation was seamless. Both times we had Jessica Mendez as our sales person. She listened to our needs, was extremely knowledgable about the items, and was cost concious. She recommended a less expensive item than we were looking for, informed us about a 100 buck rebate and even gave us a 50 buck returning customer discount. we couldn't have been happier with her service. Our items were delivered and installed by an extremely polite and efficient crew just two days later. We were constantly kept informed regarding their arrival by texts and GPS service. Gerhard's Appliance Store use to have a good reputation. Not anymore !! They can't even deliver a working refrigerator. The first refrigerator couldn't get cold beyond 45 degrees, and the second one delivered rattles & is damaged. Everyone knows how hard it is to get off from work to get one of these refrigerators delivered, but when you have to do it 3 times And you can't go grocery shopping because you don't have a working refrigerator ...that is unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed in the service I have received. I purchased a refrigerator about 1 month ago. It was delivered with a faulty gasket so the freezer does not seal shut. A service call was initiated within 1 day of delivery and the technician stated he had to order a part. Long story short, that was 3 weeks ago. There have been no updates I'm just told that customer service is trying to contact GE. Now I had a leak related to this issue and the customer service rep Rosa told me I could just turn the waterline off and suggested I call GE myself then refused to let me speak to a supervisor.
