I was so excited when I was there yesterday but then my head started hurting really bad so they asked if I wanted to see a triage nurse and says yes but no one came to get me then I called this morning for my chronic UTI of I catch it at the beginning I won't end up in the hospital NOT even A CALL BACK then I called again to see if I could get a nurse for this now severe head pain, now it's 4pm not one person has called me I am disappointed that now I have to worry about whether or not my dr or hospital is covered I have so many upcoming appointments and I have no clue what to do read more

Took away My Mothers electric wheelchair. She is 79 Year Old Amputee above the knee and clinically overweight due to her leg. They are worried about costs not care. very unresponsive, miles of red tape to get any real answer about your loved ones. read more

The respect and attention TruPace provides to patients and families is unbelievably bad. We have waited days, weeks for return calls on both urgent and non urgent matters for my mom. Sometimes we just don't hear back at all. Everyone you speak with is nice but once that conversation ends, there is little to no follow up. We are in the dark about test results, nurse visits to my mom's assisted living, and general follow up. Once you're in the program, they have control of all your health care. This was a plus when considering TruPace. How wrong we were. There should be a patient portal or some way for patients and families and specialists to be informed. read more

Absolutely the worst home care provider available. Arrogant and incompetent staff across the board. Constant contradictions between nurses. Belittling to my terminal mother and the family at every turn. We've spent more rime arguing with these morons than we have with our dying mother trying ro get her the care she needs. They simply do not care at all. Medicine orders are constantly being filled incorrectly. Or forgotten about completely. Nurses not entering notes, who then insult the family for not knowing exactly what was prescribed when and by whom. Zero explation of what is happening or why. Horrible to non-existent communication. Will blame the family for their short comings. Unwilling to help in any way. If you don't want your loved ones final days to be more tortuous than they already are, avoid this clown show at all costs. read more

Currently using TRU for palliative care. There has been zero follow through by the staff- social worker and PA. Lots of "I will call you back next week" and never return phone calls. P.A. visited once, but is supposed to visit one time monthly! First missed visit was blamed on having left a message and that I didn't return the call. When I asked what number she called, she couldn't tell me and wanted me to give it to her again! Palliative care is supposed to be a support and not an aggravating experience...TRU has just given me yet another task to manage in my ailing parents life, gee, thanks TRU. read more

Looking back at the journey we had as Tru cared for my Dad, I have different hindsight. Tru Community Care did the best they could do with a sick patient and his VERY dysfunctional family. TRU Community Care was absolutely the best for taking care of my mother with dementia in our home. They understand her needs but also mine as the primary caregiver. My father was suffering from dementia for the last few years. When it became apparent that we were going to need help in his care, we found Tru Care. We used the services in which they came to our house and provided us with medical staff, equipment and medication as we needed. We could not have been happier with their services. Their staff was so caring and helpful. They were incredibly fast with the delivery of medicine and other supplies as needed as well as requests for nurse check-ins. The nurses (Larissa, Sheila, Joanne and Amy to name a few) were amazing! Thank you, Tru Care, for easing our heart ache and his discomfort the last few weeks. read more

Review previous wrote last week is missing. (UPDATE: Found it. This place has 2 lostings. The original location was in Lafayette as well as the main office. Reviews from here were never moved over, just a new listing started for the same.business) For now, instead of rewriting it will agree with another reviewer in that evening and weekend responses need improvement. They have a few good nurses that respond but for most part the call in and running of it needs improvement. My previous, and misding review, addressed more points but bottom line, improvements need made. Family member under Tru for 4 months. Ups and downs but definately overall needs improvement. Previous was a 3 star but due to interaction and having to push yesterday, plus the effect of it on top of finding my initial review gone I have adjusted review to a 2 (UPDATE: found the review I thought was missing. It was on a 2nd one. As the calls & care moved to Boulder, not Lafayette Im putting review at both lcations. Below is my review from a week ago under the duplicate listing). Been on this for 4 months. Last 3 weeks faultering more. Various little things, and they usually defer that it is other factors. Which part of it is, such as thier equipment supplier 'Premier' but ultimately they are responsible for thier vedor service, timeliness and quality. If vendor is lacking they should hold them to improving or find a new vendor. Call in center is basically slushes off questons, useless. Length of time to get call back or to notify 'team' needs improved. Also, many occations, it has felt just like an answering service to relay message to others vs immediate help. Basically, I think some lessin learned, OE and improvement based on info gathered could improve overall experience, effeciency, and hopefully the staff's work place statisfaction. Seems there are some very good people here; it just needs someone to come in to tweak a few processes, procedures and communication. read more

During normal business hours, they operated fine. The staff was very helpful. Nights, weekends, and after hour emergency care,... they did poorly. It was hard to get ahold of people, and they were not very responsive when we did. read more

Many of us think it's ironic that when Peter Holt retired from his practice as an internist, he moved on to "officially" killing people as a hospice director. I already met one woman who told me Peter put her mother in hospice. Her "ailment"? She was 85 years old! Holt told her, "You need to get a grip girl, you're mother's going to die." With no further diagnoses, her mother was put in hospice--and she's still doing fine today. Death is certainly Holt's specialty. On one of Tru Community Care's websites he sings the praises of Kathryn Kubler Ross--the "Killing Us Softly" doctor. Perhaps Peter should next stretch his expertise and found a morgue? read more

Do not hire Tru Community Care for your hospice needs. One of the reasons we hired them is because of there care center in Longmont. I brought my wife to the care center this last Monday to try to get her pain under control, at first it seemed that we did the right thing but that quickly changed. The decision to try her on a different pain med (methadone) starting Tuesday morning. At 10:30 that evening my doorbell rang waking me and it was a courier delivering the methadone to our house when it should have been delivered to the care center. The care center then called me early the next morning apologizing for the delivery mix up and asking me to also bring her other meds that were not related to her cancer care which I did and they misplaced them and she couldn't take her daily meds, they did eventually found them. The final straw was when they forgot to give her the pain meds we finally found worked the best (dilaudid). She was supposed to receive every 4 hours. They missed the first time by 2 1/2 hours and said to my wife "sorry I forgot". She was also on Ativan that she takes for anxiety and nausea every 6 hours and she didn't receive that all day Tuesday. Complete incompetence, do not hire Tru Community Care for your hospice needs read more

If you have a large family....DO NOT USE the TruCare hospice facility of Balfour. They are way understaffed, scheduled pain meds were not given on time to my Mother, resulting in agonizing pain for her and horrible stress and sadness for my family. The facility director is the most un-compassionate person I have ever had the displeasure of meeting and basically told my family we were not welcome because we are a large family....as a result, my Mother died without the people who should have been by her side. We were told by their representative that they were not just about patient care, but WHOLE family care....BIGGEST LIE EVER!....do you and your loved ones a favor.....LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE. I can honestly say if it weren't for the two outstanding nurses my Mother was lucky to have....my review would be even worse. This facility is just plain AWFUL! and I am sorry we ever picked it. read more

I don't know think words can begin to express my gratitude for the work that Tru Care does for people dealing with the dying of a loved one. My dad was a patient and at first was able to stay at home with us. Our Team came and made sure we had everything we needed to take care of him and keep him comfortable. Our nurse ( an angel in human form!) came every week and any other time I called and told her we needed something. When my dad had to be admitted to the care center we continued to receive excellent care and treatment. My dad was given what he needed to not suffer and he was able to die with dignity. Wonderful organization, wonderful people. So thankful they were there for my dad and us. read more

I would give this place negative stars if I could. They do not seem to care for those they should with hospice care. I have seen them more than once tell families that their loved ones where going to die on daily basis. I have seen them use a check list of what they want and do it. Such as they cannot get up anymore and sit in chair. They are bed bound now. Not come to check on people that fall out of the hospital beds they put them in. Not even care enough to make sure the air is correct in the beds they make you use, causing huge bed soars. Want alcoholic to dead turkey it on the drinking even when that will kill them. Not have chaplains show up even when promised. To busy to help you when a patient or loved ones dies. DO NOT EVER GO WITH THIS COMPANY IN BOULDER COLORADO. You deserve to be told the truth and have some respect in your time of need. Your loved one also deserves to be taken care of. They will not call PT or OT or give care to stop contracture from happening ( muscles getting stuck that are very painful to person). Once you sign the paper work you no longer are even able to go with another company. It like they have a record to keep on how quickly they can make your loved one die and in pain. It horrible and wrong and than they drop off the papers asking you donate money to them. Often times their record is under a month your loved one dies. Their health and well being goes down so quickly it will cause you more grieve in the end. read more
