My girl absolutely loved it, she would get ultra excited as we slowed down to pull into the parking out. At night she was exhausted after spending the day there, the staff really does care about each and every pet in their custody, letting me know every day at time of pickup how she was that day with detailed notes. I then got # 2 Boxer/ American Bull Dog at 5 months of age, the behavior problem dog. Called in and spoke with the staff , sure bring her in they said. Well they had to put her in time out a few times but they did work with her. July 4th week I went on vacation and left both my girls ( my world) with Barkwood , food -toys -blankets, they did such a nice job ! It was hot and the breed doesn't do well in hot weather. The staff soaked down towels with ice water and got my babies cooled down and safe from an overheating situation. They watch your pets closely and have the intuition and common sense to take action to remedy any situation appropriately. I believe they are the best around !! I DID NOT speak to anyone from Barkwood on Wednesday, I did send a message on Wednesday because my kids screen recorded the webcam all day on Tuesday and all day on Wednesday. For 2 days our dog was in his room all day long, morning to night. When I messaged the, informing them of this, they told me that Ike got out for a few minutes at 6:00am and then was out for "a few minutes" opposite of group time at 8:00am. They informed me that they have way too many dogs that need one on one attention and not enough staff members to give them all individualized attention. That is not my problem, I was told that my dog would be took out several times a day opposite of the group dogs as well as extra times that I paid for. I do not believe that taking my dog out at 6:00am and 8:00am and its very interesting that is the time that they claim he went out because I told them that my kids were screen recording from 9:00am on. Furthermore, it is VERY unacceptable that he was not given his medication twice a day, anyone can do the math and see that. Now I have to pay for more medication and additional treatment from the vet since they decided that they were "too busy" Also, throwing water on my dog before walking him out to the lobby is not a bath, just saying. Run dont walk from this place.

Kim patiently looked through all his hiding spots (even finding him in an old favorite that he hasn't used in awhile!) to make sure he had the chance to eat. She also graciously took care of a truckload of packages that unfortunately arrived just as we left town. Our cats are always very clearly cared for by Kim- when we return they are relaxed and calm, not anxious or worried. I feel that pet sitting requires a very special person, and Kim is that person. We have had a lot of pet sitters in our 20+ years of having pets, and she is the best.

One star because you should never make a commitment that your backup person can't handle. We are cancelling our vacation (my daughter's first birthday with out of state family) as it is impossible to find anyone else on such short notice over a holiday.
