I started because I was having such a hard time being consistent and pushing myself. I have some challenges; a history of spinal injury & surgery a past knee surgery. My goal was to start slow; enough to get going, but not so much as to get trashed in the process. Dee has been amazing in helping me slowly build. I'm noticing that my neck and back are not hurting after workouts and I'm able to do much more weights and reps. She really knows how to push me enough but not so much that it's overboard. I love that she listens to me and if something doesn't work for my body, she will change it to make it work. The other thing about Dee, if you are looking for someone to train with, is she is very professional. Her time with me is all about me. I've had trainers in the past that have only talked about themselves, or worse yet, other clients. She puts her focus entirely on me for the time I'm with her. She's professional, friendly and motivating. I'm so glad i found her!!

Ginger and all the excellent coaches provide alternative exercises if you have mobility issues. So much of CrossFit is about mobility, and not necessarily strength. The coaches at G-Theory are incredibly supportive and genuinely care about proper form above anything else. Its members are encouraging and welcoming, which makes each work out enjoyable. I recommend this gym to anyone who wants to have fun while exercising and be a part of a wonderful community.

I stayed on for a couple weeks later but decided to cancel because I just wasn't impressed with the gym itself. Would love to see a nice big, open gym come to Auburn.

This club already has some of the highest membership costs in the area (we were paying 265$ for a 1 adult, 2 toddlers, and 1 teenager). I was also surprised that members are required to provide a doctor's note in order to place their account on hold. Also, feels excessive, and wrong. The amount to downgrade the membership feels disproportionate. And the policies here don't feel member-friendly. Even the staff makes me feel unheard. Why not pick up the phone and have a conversation with me instead of sending a cold email. Just acknowledge my frustration instead of making me feel like I'm being penalized.

So when I found an ad in the newspaper for this place offering a free tour of the facility, I made an appointment. First impression: They were friendly and informative without being "salesy." I was offered some printed matter that disclosed all the different pricing options and how their programs work. So I made an appointment to meet with a personal trainer. Second impression: My goal was to find out if they were serious about training or just trying to sell me the program. My evaluation and background check of fitness past and current was thorough and complete and not once was I sold anything. Once the appointment was complete, I signed up for a 3 month commitment to myself. Conclusion: I've been going now for 1.5 months and my work with Lauren has been nothing but positive and slightly amazing. Not only is she working with my quirky body and it's limits, but she's empowering me to use my own equipment at home to continue there when I can't get in to use the facilities at ProActive. I look forward to workouts, even when I dread them, because I know I'm going to learn something new about what my body cannot do at this time and learn how to work toward gaining that strength or range of motion in the not-too-far-off future. I continue to get stronger and my body shape is changing. I feel muscle where there was once just cushy tissue. I went back and forth on whether to write this, and frankly part of me feels bad doing so, but…read moreultimately, we don't feel good about the $100k+ we spent on our pool--and that's not something that should be ignored. 1. Sloppy Workmanship Concrete & deck - The joints are visibly misaligned and the pool deck slopes in places. When I asked for this to be fixed or compensated, they offered a token $400 credit against what I estimate to be a $2,000 mistake--after we had already spent nearly $30k in additional concrete work. Their response? "Our margins are already so low." That's not my problem. It felt dismissive and manipulative. Fence - To meet code, we had to reverse the swing of our fence door. The contractor they sent left a mess--cutting the door unevenly and leaving a large gap. The fact that I even have to spend my time following up on this speaks volumes about their quality control (or lack thereof). Heater install - They installed the pool heater with no condensate line, so water spilled directly onto the concrete deck and left stains (photo attached). I had to chase them down just to get that fixed. Their "fix" was running giant exposed PVC lines across the deck. And now the unit is leaking again. Pool finish - The plaster work is uneven, with rough, jagged steps and visible spots of chipped gunite. You can feel it every time you get in the pool. 2. Disorganized and Disruptive Crews Scheduling was a total mess. Crews either didn't show up on scheduled days or showed up unannounced. One morning we woke up to find the owner tearing out our landscaping to lay skid boards for the bobcat. This was never even discussed. During excavation, the bobcat tore through our irrigation system, flooding our front yard. Despite multiple follow-ups, the issue was never fully fixed--and still leaks to this day. We often felt like pushing harder for resolution would jeopardize our relationship or our warranty. That's not how a customer should feel. We have email after email where we're left chasing basic updates: "What time tomorrow?" "Actually, he can't make it; we'll reach out in a day or two." 3. Condescending Customer Service Any time we raised concerns, we were met with either silence or thinly veiled condescension. The concrete credit negotiation was especially frustrating--using their internal cost pressures as a reason not to fairly address our complaint. When we brought up the heater runoff issue, the response was to "come take a look sometime"... and then nothing. Radio silence. Bottom Line We spent over six figures and ended up with: * uneven concrete * stained decking * a leaking heater * rough, unfinished plaster * a broken irrigation system * and a pile of ignored emails If you care at all about quality, communication, or customer service--do yourself a favor and go with someone else.

Yelp wasn't around when my pool was built by Courage Pools 20 years ago. They build durable…read morequality pools. My original main pump is still running. The spa heater still works. The only items that broke are 3 of my 4 pumps but they lasted more than average. Replaced jet pump in 2013, waterfall pump in 2015, salt chlorinator in 2016 and pool sweep booster in 2019. The control panel still works but I plan to upgrade to a newer model with better remote control. I think the dual skimmer design may have helped with the longetivity of my pump besides making sure they are shaded during the triple digit summer heat. Don't pay attention to the one-star reviews that dragged down the overall rating. Read them carefully and they are all petty complaints. Courage Pools is a premium and the best in the county. If you want to pay more for lesser quality go with the other companies especially the acronym PP.

I joined this gym about a month ago and I love it. I had never joined a gym before and they provided me with an onboarding session where they acquainted me with all the machines, showed me how to use them and just basic guidance. This was included in my membership at no extra cost. There are allot of different classes available with the membership like yoga, Zumba and mat pilates as well as strength training etc. They also have pilates reformer ( you can sign up for the classes at an extra cost but your membership fee is cut in half, the more classes you buy the less they cost overall) and I have really really enjoyed that. The gym is smaller but it's never seems to be overly busy, everyone just does their thing and it is super chill. It is very clean and there is allot to do. No one hogs machines or makes anybody uncomfortable. Every teacher and trainer I have encountered have been excellent, professional and they really know their stuff. There are private showers, bathrooms and plenty of lockers. Coming here has become one of my favorite things to do! It is such a safe supportive environment, and it is available to me 24/7 which is just super! I'm glad I made the voice to sign up :) read more

This is a great place to work out. The equipment is new and very well maintained. There is a variety of cardiovascular machines and resistance machines, as well as free weight equipment. I love that there is a good supply and size range of kettle bells. The trx bands are always a plus too. I've tried many gyms in auburn, and as an ex-personal trainer/gym rat, who is currently trying to get back in shape, I can whole heartedly say Fit1 really has everything I need for my fitness goals and lifestyle. The owners and staff are welcoming, genuine and very responsive. Dee is a fantastic trainer. All the classes I've tried are fun and engaging. Everything is super clean too! There is hand sanitizer at the door and masks available if you happen to forget yours. Equipment is cleaned before and after use. This is a great neighborhood gym and I am so happy to have found it. Fit1 has been my 24hr access, go-to gym since 2012, and it continues to exceed my expectations. The variety of equipment--machines, free weights, exercise bands, and more--ensures there's always something new to try. Though I have personally not signed up for any of the various classes offered, I have observed that participants seem satisfied with the instructors' knowledge and support. The facilities are spotless and are very clean. The staff, are incredibly helpful and they truly care about their members' experience. Over the years, I have noticed that equipment is readily upgraded as needed. For me, it is more than just a gym. I've been going to Fit1 for about a year, 3 days a week and primarily use the weight room. What I like about this gym and what keeps me coming back is the ease of use; 24° access, not overly crowded so that I'm able to use the weights and/or machines without any wait time. Whats also huge for me is the cleanliness of the gym and the respect the clients show by wiping down the equipment and restacking their weights after use. Fantastic gym! Only gribe I would have is that there are not enough different class times for fitness classes, like spin class, etc. But I understand that, and there are still class times that could work for a wide variety of people. So other than that, the atmosphere is great, it's always clean, there's always machines available and space for everyone, AND it's open 23 hours a day! Really can't beat the convenience of that. I have been a member of Fit1 for over 10 years. I started there when I was still working and showed up early in the morning for my work outs (classes begin at 5:30). Now that I'm retired I have access to all morning classes! The classes are all included in my membership. They also have personal trainers that I have used with successful results. Such a great gym. Instructors and Robin are super friendly and encouraging! So very helpful too. Very clean all of the time, work out times are varied so there is a time that everyone can join in a class. Classes are free (excluding reformer Pilates) which is a great price and taught by instructors who know their stuff (think physical therapist trainers). In the past year, the community has shown how much they value each other as well. Many members will also motivate each other to be our best, sometimes even helping us get to the next level. The community reflects a lot of the values that the gym has worked hard to cultivate, and I genuinely hope to participate with them this following year.

There were a few folks there in the morning. Someone was also cleaning the gym too. She was really doing a great job cleaning EVERYTHING. Kudos to her. First off, vibes are immaculate. Purple is one of my favorite colors, so when the lights turn on, it is an awesome setting to be in. High ceilings and a wide array of equipment. Treadmills, assault bikes, box jumps, free weights, barbells, mats, and more. The punchbag set up seem super interesting to me, so definitely interested in seeing them used in action. Classes are available too. I hope timing works out that next time I'm in the area, I can try a class out! A quick glance on their website, looks like they have a free "60-min Body Transformation Game Plan Session" (50 available) as of Mar'23. Definitely a great way to get your foot in the door to see if this spot is for you. Two bathrooms and water fountain available on site. Easy parking in the plaza, which is also a plus. Shoutout to Jenny and Joleen, an awesome mother + daughter combo, for creating this establishment and safe space for folks to improve their lifestyles!

The class was fairly challenging but there were options to make it easier or harder, depending on your level. Afterwards we were able to enjoy the spa amenities! They had various rooms and devices. We did 40min in the dry sauna, rinsed off, a couple minutes in the red light, and finished with a couple minutes in the cold plunge. The sauna and cold plunges were able to accommodate two persons at once so I can see this being a great couples activity. Afterwards my body felt so amazing and relaxed! All the spaces were so clean and felt new. The bathrooms were very clean as well and provided shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the showers. I believe we met the owner at the front desk and she was so sweet and accommodating. She helped us navigate all the spaces of the spa and provided clean towels and eye masks. I'm not local to Sacramento but I'm definitely paying this place another visit whenever I'm back in town. Highly recommend!

Also, the staff here are one of the biggest reasons that makes me continue to go back..I tried this place recently with my friend and we didn't know we were going to love it as much as we do now. We ended up deciding to get a membership together and I love the feeling I get after a workout here. April and Bianca are very good instructors and I am so glad they are there at Body Heat. Studio Six (Shelby & Brooke) has changed my life! I came in as a newby to Pilates and was…read moretransformed way more than expected. Not only is Shelby VERY knowledgeable about the body and diagnosing areas of strength/weakness/injury, she also is very passionate about helping you see and feel results. I worked out with her twice a week for about a year all the way through the final few weeks of my first pregnancy. She (and Pilates) really helped me prepare for having a baby physically and mentally. There were many days when the nausea and exhaustion that can sometimes come with pregnancy would make me want to miss a class, but I knew I would be encouraged and glad to have made it once I got to spend time with Shelby and Brooke. I couldn't imagine what I would be like without having been introduced to Pilates. If you're looking for a work out that is carefully designed for your level of experience, or even just a new way of thinking about how your body is designed to maintain proper health, then certainly I would recommend Studio Six. I've been to many other yoga studios, taken lots of gym classes, and worked out with trainers, but Shelby tops them all in terms of knowledge about the body and health. I just can't say enough about her or this studio!
