We had a great experience at Goddard School Lake Orion after a rough time at another area day care…read more My son was in the Junior Kindergarten room, called, "Raindrops". He is definitely ready for Kindergarten at his public school. The curriculum is challenging enough to keep the children's attention, but appropriate to their age so that your child can progress and feel confident. My son's teacher, Ms. Kathy, kept the class on track, adding creative and imaginative aspects to the topic at hand. The assistant, Alexa, was very nurturing and patient with my high energy child. Summer camp was a welcome change with field trips and special presenters to keep things fun.

After enrolling my son in Goddard I came for 3 visits an hour each the week before he started in the infant room. I came home from each visit feeling uncomfortable. The issues that I had were with the teachers lack of communication. When I brought 4 bottles and gave his teacher exact times to feed him and I came to pick up my son and found he was only fed two bottles in the morning. He was laying on the tile floor on his back screaming. I was told that they didnt know when to feed him because the other teacher had left so they didn't. When I went to tell the director mrs. Jean she wanted me to speak on the phone with the head teacher. At this point I was feeding my son who hadn't been feed for several hours and was crying in hunger and she was upset I refused to stop feeding him to talk to the teacher on the phone. Another issue I had was my son was put to sleep in his swing when I asked that he not be Ms. Jean said I would need to address it with the teacher myself. I found my child was put to sleep in his crib covered in spit up (his outfit was dirty under his sleep sack). One of the teachers offten picks up the babies by their arms and calls them stupid. I never felt comfortable leaving my son here and after two weeks on the day I found my son wasn't fed we left the owner walked me to my car saying the tuition was nonrefundable.

The Goddard School of Rochester Hills is great! Our now 9 month old started the day they opened…read morewhen he was 4 months old in the infant room. He quickly bonded with his teacher, Ms. Katie. It is obvious he feels comfortable and is happy each day when dropped off and picked up. Both the owner, Sandeep, and director, Amee, are extremely personable. They keep an open communication line between the parents, teachers, and themselves; making it easy to feel confident and comfortable with leaving our little boy in their care. Our little one is crawling and beginning to want to walk, so he will be moving to the First Steps room in the next few weeks. We expect to feel just as confident in his new teacher and for him to continue learning and developing as he has. We would definitely suggest The Goddard School to anyone!

Goddard School at Rochester Hills, MI has made child care and preschool feel like home. Our…read moredaughter is 20 months old and as new parents, we had no experience with child care facilities or preschools. It was difficult to choose a location. We wanted a place that would be safe, educational, and close to home. We found what we were looking for and more with Goddard School of Rochester Hills! Our daughter is being cared for by people that truly care about her and want to see her succeed in life. We love to hear daily about the things that she is experiencing and learning. The Owner, Director, all the teachers and staff are exceptionally nice and very passionate about their profession and they interact with every single child individually and make them feel special and warm without anyone being left out. Overall, this is a great place and I would highly recommend it to any family. -Sushant & Sudnya

I am so sad we need to leave - logistics issue after work transfers :(…read more We moved here after Kindercare closed and another center had major license issues. Jennifer was helpful with everything. I disagree with the other reviewers in the following ways (and I will explain why I LOVE KA at the same time): 1. Every kid is different - my daughter knew all of her letters and numbers way before my son (and she is younger). You can't rely on them growing at the same speed. 2. The 3 year old room has Miss Joan who has worked for KA for YEARS. She goes through letters and numbers in the mornings. My son came to KA at 4 knowing nothing and she whipped him into shape in a few months. She can be a tough cookie, but if you need parenting advice and can't find Jennifer (the director)...Joan is your girl. 3. Tuition: you have to pay holidays and vacation days regardless of where you go. As long as we have gone to KA, they have not had a snow day. Ever. ALLLLLL the other schools will be closed, but KA is open for business. 4. Homework: feel like you have NO CLUE what your kid is doing all day at preschool? I've been there. KA sends home optional homework packets that my son LOVES doing. It helps me realize what he is learning during the day and he likes to show off (to me and probably also his sister) all of his number knowledge. 5. Turnover: There have been a few people moving around, but nothing like what I have seen at other centers. The center director has been there for over a decade. She knows her stuff, is no-nonsense but kind. She has a love for her job and her students. And she is a fountain of knowledge if you need help with ANYTHING. I don't know anything about the baby/toddler side because my son is older, but overall we are very happy.

Stay away from this place…read more.. reasons why: 1. my 3 year old is not learning any letters or numbers, they are not teaching it. 2. they make you pay tuittion upfront. 3. You have to pay all holidays and if there is a snow day or if they loose power, you have to pay for all those days. 4. you also have to pay 1/2 tuittion for vacation days. 5. last snow day they did not update their voicemail message and I drove 2 kids in a snow storm 15 miles to find a note in the door that center is closed. 6. Overall not happy at all.
