They lost my dog. Took my 2 retrievers and parti Yorkie there when we went to Europe. Somehow my yorkie managed to get out of their yard. The dogs were not supervised while out in the yard. They called my daughter who was there in 10 minutes. When she arrived they were in the house which makes me believe they didn't call my daughter right away. The message on my phone while I was in Europe was " you should go to the animal shelter to see if they have your dog ". I panicked - called them back no answer - found out my little dog was missing from my daughter. I feel it was totally irresponsible to leave the dogs out unsupervised. When we returned from Europe our 2 retrievers when in the yard at twilight unsupervised- they owners were in the house. It has been 2 months and my dog has not been found. I am posting now to hopefully save someone else the pain I have experienced. I am heartbroken. read more

I am afraid if everyone knows just how amazing they are, it will be hard for me to get a reservation, but I love giving credit where credit is due, and this is definitely a business that deserves incredible recognition! The owners Sylvia and Geoff are so sweet and professional. They helped make the process of boarding our Great Dane simple and easy and gave us the confidence and reassurance that our doggie was in safe hands while we were away. How can you enjoy a vacation worrying about your pets? You can't! Auburn Kennels takes that anxiety away, and literally our dog LOVES IT THERE! Our Great Dane is a difficult case to deal with at a boarder, he doesn't get along well with other animals and is rather needy, Sylvia and Geoff didn't bat an eye at this and greeted him with open and loving arms. They made him feel welcome, comfortable and assured. They knew he was sensitive and they helped make him comfortable and went the extra mile to make sure he was alright while we were away. The grounds are beautiful; the kennels are clean and neat. They provide clean dog beds and even food at no additional cost. This is the best kennel that I have every had my dogs attend. Their kennels are like no others with a wonderful play space that is large, has shade, sun and ample grass. There staff were soooo nice and a very kind dog person. Dee even waited me after hours because of a mistake I made, she was ver obliging and did not critics me for my dumb mistake. Took our two dogs here and they had such a wonderful time. The grounds are clean and my dogs were absolutely exhausted when I picked them up. This kennel is amazing! I had to find a place for my pitbull because of a family emergency. They watched her for 14 days and when I picked her up, she was both happy and lost some much needed to lose weight haha! I could tell my dog loved this place and the staff is so amazing and caring. We had been taking our dog to a kennel in Penn Valley, our dog needed more exercise and I did not like getting charged extra for a 10 minute play session. At Auburn Kennels, my dog gets 3 hours of play in the morning and 3 hours of play in the afternoon. The kennels are very large with both indoor/outdoor components. The grounds are beautiful and CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. My dog loves being there while I am on vacation and that makes it so much easier to leave him. I HIGHLY recommend Auburn Kennels. read more

Christine at Auburn Kennels is the best kennel owner that we have EVER used. I am not exaggerating. If you want to enjoy your vacation and not worry about your animals, take them to Auburn Kennels. They are located on a beautiful piece of land. Christine loves animals and takes care of them meticulously. She is flexible and reliable. We love her and how she takes are of our dogs. We leave them there for a month and do not worry at all. They are always happy there and get lots of attention and exercise. After moving to the area in 2015, we tried several kennels, settling on Auburn Kennels as our ideal place for Moka. The outside spaces for the dogs is wonderful for activity and socialization. The owners seem genuinely interested in and caring of their charges. However, they will put a bark collar on a dog -- even without your permission! The boarding agreement has a place for the owner to acknowledge (by checking a box and adding initials) that Auburn Kennels will use a bark collar when they warrant it necessary. I purposely did not give them permission (did not initial this part of the agreement) and they put a bark collar on my dog anyway. No notice, no phone call, even though they had my cell number. I was very upset as I don't believe in using bark collars on dogs. If you don't want a bark collar used, don't leave your dog here. I will not return to this kennel. read more

It's simply the best. Safe, clean, fun, loving and appreciated by dog and man alike. My dog runs to the help, gives them a lick, walks into the kennels and waits for the dog door to open so he can get outside and play with his buddies. As a bonus he sheds the couple extra pounds that creep up on him without any ugly reduction in rations. There's so much exercise he couldn't help but lose. The accomodations are fabulous, as is the the care and concern for our dog. The kennel hours are very accomodating, enabling us to pick up our dog in Sunday afternoon after a weekend away. Sylvia and Geoff were amazing. We traveled from Las Vegas for Christmas and were staying with family who are not "dog people". There were small children and cats and we were afraid our 5 month old ShihTzu (Cookie) would not be very welcomed. We liked the idea of having Cookie boarded near where we were staying rather than leaving him in Las Vegas. I contacted Sylvia at the last minute and she welcomed Cookie in. The facilities are great. Each dog has its own run so they aren't kept in small cages. The kennel is set among nature with plenty of room for the dogs to run and play. I was nervous that Cookie wouldn't do well with the other dogs because he hasn't been around many. When I arrived to pick him up after 2 1/2 day stay, he was outside running around with all the small dogs. He was having a great time. I'd highly recommend Auburn Kennels. I'll likely use them again as I travel up there about once a year. read more
