I had a unique experience with one of the individual who who here. Maybe they were having a bad day, but extremely rude and not in keeping with what I consider a professional organization. Update: This is amazing. At 45 years old I find myself in my first online back and forth. I guess I have to add my two cents here since integrity is important to me. The entire interaction from the time I parked, my interaction with their employee and moving the SUV was 30 seconds or less. Not this extended timeline in their post. At no time was i upset about having to move my SUV, I was upset and disappointed in how I was treated. I'll agree I missed all the signs and large door out of excitement to talk with them about potentially getting a new toy for the SUV. Just a simple upgrade to the radio, it's a bit outdated. I took Art my 13 year old Chevy 2500 duramax diesel for an upgrade to its sound system. The truck is in excellent condition and has at least 200,000 miles left until serious service. I decided it was time to enjoy some really quality sounds while I put that next 200k on the girl. I wanted the look to be stock but the music to be exceptional. Art replaced the original 6 speakers with German top of the line plus manufactured their mountings. He installed the sub woofer in a custom made box and fitted that under the rear seat. My father always told me that if you were going to do a job, do it right the first time. Unfortunately, that is not how many people think. The car audio industry lacks any formal quality controls and many of the new vehicles come with advanced, integrated computer systems which means aftermarket audio installs are more complex and must tie into the car's existing head unit. If you're considering Audio By Art, READ THIS FIRST! Art is a true audiophile. This isn't the guy you go to when you want two woofers added to your trunk for the cheapest price possible. This is the guy you see when you want a complete system overhaul. His level of expertise is unmatched in San Antonio. From clean installs using OEM parts and placement all the way to custom boxes, pillars, panels, and so on. Art is a fabricating wizard! I've been working with Art for about a year now trying to get my car to sound exactly the way I want and I have not made it easy on him. I've whined and complained and just been unsatisfied at times. Let me make this clear though, the issues I've had are in no way Art's fault. To be honest, I've refused to make some hardware changes and forced Art to work around them. He has been an absolute professional and has does everything he can to get my car where I want it. I've been in the shop with him while he's called manufacturers to discuss specs, options, and compatibility. He has worked countless hours to get me the sound I crave. Art really knows audio installation, pays perfectionist attention to detail, and I highly recommend him. Unlike a lot of the other Audio sales and installation places in San Antonio he only focuses on car audio. Also, he listens to you, listens to your system, and provides an optimal solution within your budget. I went to Art for sound dampening my doors and install of fast rings around the speakers I had installed elsewhere (Sound Master [SM]) . SM wouldn't do the sound dampening. Not only did Art do an excellent job with installing the door sound dampening liner and speaker fast rings, he identified some less than stellar install work and amplifier tuning performed by SM, and fixed that too. Now, I'll admit the sound of my car audio was much better over the original Honda factory system with SM's amp and Alpine R Series speakers install, but the additional improvement in sound quality and balance achieved by Art's door/speaker work and fine tuning of my amp and component crossovers is nothing less than incredible. I thought I had done my due diligence before selecting my original audio installer; if I actually had, you would have been the recipient of my original system install business.
