My first time here was a normal experience. I showed up, he installed a gps for me and I left. It wasn't an experience to remember but that was fine. Now this is what happened when I went to get the same GPS removed.. I was only available to come on the weekend so he told me to come on a Saturday at a specific time and said he would be there. I called him before I went and his phone went straight to voicemail since this was outside of his normal hours. I get there at the time discusses... wait outside for an hour and nothing. He never showed up. When I called him about it the following Monday he said "this never happens" but then followed up with an excuse saying "I thought it was for next Saturday". So I rescheduled again... He said he would be at the shop Sunday doing work on his shop around lunch. He asked me to call him morning of. Of course when I did it went straight to voicemail again. I send him a text as well and no response. Since he said he would be there I decided to drive the 30 mins out of my way AGAIN and he, of course, was not there. However his daughter was there so she called him and he had the same excuses as before and still was not willing to meet me at the shop to get it done and according to her he hadn't been there at all that day anyway. TRYING to work with him was a huge waste of time and he was not be willing to step up and handle his business like someone who actually cares. If you go during the week you should be fine but if he ever says to meet him on he weekend DO NOT WASTE your time! I now get my installs done by Efficient Fleets. They are more expensive but they are mobil, fast, can do same day and will not waste your time! read more

I had an amazing experience with my brand new Mazada 3. I brought in a Pioneer 12" 600w all-in-one sub to have installed. I sat in the shop because I had nowhere else to go. I can be a pretty talkative person sometimes, and at times even get on my own nerves. Well, it ended up being one of the owners that did the installation. He was a VERY smart guy, knowledgeable in many different subjects, from vinyl to audio installation and auto mechanics. Even with me being chatty Kathy, the installation went fast. If I remember correctly, the shop owner Efron and his brothers are partners. Efron is an Army vet that was a Diesel Mechanic while he served. Somewhere in there, he went to school for audio and wiring of German automobiles. He later got his certifications on other auto types. Basically, what I'm saying is, if you are looking for someone to entrust your brand new car to for audio installation, this is the shop. I was recommended by a couple of buddies that have used Cortez in the past and after reading the reviews, I felt comfortable him customizing my headlights with no issue. I dropped my headlights off to be cut open and to install DRL LED strips that would replace the original DRL lights. Long story short he kept my headlights for almost three weeks without any communication on his end. I had to be the one to continuously contact him just to find out he could not do the install for the LED lights due to a family emergency. Mind you this was even though he had them for weeks prior to the family emergency and provided three different dates the lights would be ready for pick up until the day before they were supposed to be finally ready, he said he couldn't do it. When I took them to 4 different companies to complete the install, nobody wanted to touch the lights. They mentioned they would not touch the headlights because they were opened by someone else, and it was poor-quality work the way the lights were cut opened. So now I have $3600 headlights that are sitting in my garage without any use. BEWARE!!! on major projects. Keep in mind before deciding to do business here, you pay for what you get. read more

Well, this was one of the rare "old-school" relational business dealings I have had for a lone while and really miss. I deeply appreciate owner-operated businesses that value customer service and relationship. I had just got a new car and wanted to remove the gear from my previous car, add, upgrade and install in the new vehicle. I called around to a few shops. Most were unwilling to even have a conversation on the phone. When I called The Install Shop, I was given quality time to answer my questions before going in, which prompted my desire to go talk with them in person. I had the same experience when planning out my sound system...they took the time to listen to what I had, discuss options, and make a plan. I had a chance to watch the owner work for a bit. He took his time and did things right, paying attention to detail. I went back to make a couple tweaks later which was met with the same patience and generous spirit. BEST SHOP IN TOWN. Wish I had more stars to give cause my experience with this guy has been awesome. I haven't had any big projects done by him YET. But I definitely will soon. My most recent experience with him was something simple that he did for FREE! I had a stripped bolt in my car that I couldn't get out for the life of me, called up this shop and he quoted me $60. Had a buddy take it in while I was at work. About 20 minutes later my buddy returned with my car and said he had got it out for free. Not many shops will do something like that! Even if it was easy for him to do, usually shops will find any reason to make an extra buck. Rightfully so, but all said and done I was absolutely amazed at the customer service from this shop.
