I took my 14 year old vehicle to the dealership for its 5000 mile service. There has been an annoying noise that rattles with the radio's bass, and I was told that they could change the speakers for about $1000. Then they suggested that I go to Audio One. I called the business; the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and explained the problem. I took my vehicle in the next day, and they replaced the bass speakers in about 1.5 hours for about $200. I took my car there to get a new radio installed that I had recieved for Christmas. The installation went fine and I got my car back in a few hours. The next day I noticed that something seemed to be wrong with my heating. I took the car into our regular mechanic and they said that when the radio was installed, the heating was disconnected. It was $97 to fix the heating on top of a $300 car radio installation. I called the shop and spoke to Sean, one of the managers, about getting a reimbursed for the money that I had to spend on the repairs. I dropped off a copy of the report the mechanic had given me and he said that a check would be issued. A check never arrived, so I called about a week and a half later, and they verified my address. It's now been two more weeks since this and still no check. When my dad called, Sean gave him the number of a secretary in their main office and he has been on the phone with her. They claim the check was mailed from VA Beach and somehow still hasn't arrived in WIlliamsburg after two weeks. Having my heating disconnected was a major inconvenience in the middle of one of the coldest Januarys we've ever had. Having to keep calling and calling to get a refund for money that we never should have had to spend is even more inconvenient. I will not be returning to this shop or recommending it to any of friends. read more

Professionals from start to finish. I called a few places about installing my Rockford Fosgate P300-12 with most places seeming to be put out that I didn't buy it from them. If that wasn't the case no one around could get me In for a week or longer. Audio One in Newport News told me they could get me in the same day so I went at 3:30 pm on a Friday. Through my research I had figured it should cost about $200 for parts and labor. Audio One quoted me $210 and that's what I paid when the installation was complete. The installation did take awhile but I did come on a Friday so that was to be expected. The actual installation was better than expected. The quality was as if it belonged on my 2014 Cherokee from Jeep it self. The only improvement in my opinion would be a better waiting area while you wait. Fast forward to March 2016. I took my 370Z in to have a custom sub inclosure with my own sub and wiring installed. Again these guys were professional from start to finish. 370Zs with the Bose stock audio are notoriously a pain in the rear when adding components, but Audio 1 handle it without a problem. read more

Asked to install an amplifier and two tweeters, manager said it'd be ready the same day. I get there ten minutes to closing (5:20) and end up staying until 7:10, waiting in lobby. An employee comes out the back at 6:10 and has only hooked up the amp telling me he can't hook up tweeters with flush mount, meaning he just started working on the second portion of the job. An hour after closing he tells me it'll take him forty five minutes. No one told or mentioned to him that I had asked about the amp sub issues that they installed previously at an earlier date. So it seemed they didn't do anything for six and a half hours and waited last minute and put my job last, even though I booked a week in advance. Just two hours of me sitting in the lobby. No apology from staff, manager says nothing but ignores my concern, and they leave my car trashed and parts not put back together. Missing screw.. Driver speaker shakes... weird noise coming out the speakers as I accelerate on the gas. Didn't compensate for lack of punctuality and misleading me to think it would be ready at closing only to sit for two hours disgruntled and uncared for. Asked them to not begin installing tweeters an hour in as I was done with there service at that point and they pushed me, insisted me to just do it after I asked him to stop. Didn't explain to me how much anything costs just told me a price that was somewhat hefty. Was overcharged for installing a amp and installing two small tweeters. Needless to say I hope that I never have to go through them again and wish there was a safer more reliable alternative. This is the second experience I've had with them and the first time they installed two front speakers and a remote start and I had to go back two or three more times just for them to fix and work out the issues they couldn't fix or neglected to ask me my preferences. I'm not sure if it's just my luck but try and find a better source for your audio visual needs for your vehicle if you can. There employees are suspect and the manager is an old school hustler type. I'm usually always too polite if anything so complaining isn't me at all, but I felt takin advantage of and left there with a horrible taste in my mouth. read more

Their customer service is terrible and never available to help us whenever we come in. If I could give 0 stars, I would. They installed our speaker and didnt even do it right. It blew the very next dayand they can never seem to find time to look at it when I come in. Dont waste your time coming here... the one in VA beach is 100x better! Disappointing. They did the tint (and some audio work) on my Lexus. Got better results from some hole in the wall on Mercury. Edges of tint are all uneven/jagged and leave way too much space between the end of the tint and the top of the window. The spacing isn't even the same from window to window. Don't recommend! read more

I asked to get fog lights and a back up mirror installed on my new truck. I was quoted $200 out the door. At the end of the day the mirror was installed but the camera did not work. I was told to bring it back the next day with the schematics and they would take care of it for me. I found schematics online and brought it back in to them to finish the job. Later that day, I received a call from the tech. I was told that the schematics I brought were only half right. He said that I would need to purchase their camera ($280) because the stock camera was not compatible with the mirror I purchased. If not, I would have to pay $160 for the time spent on the vehicle that day! I paid the $280 since they were going to charge me $160 anyway, but I was not happy! I did not ask if I was still going to be charged extra because I was told that they would "take care of me." I did feel good because my car had what I wanted, but the experience left a very bad taste in my mouth. The overall quality of work was good though. read more
