First time visiting August 8 AYCe with my kids and we had a great experience. The atmosphere was nice and comfortable, perfect for a family gathering. There's a good variety of options, Brazilian BBQ, dim sum, sushi and sashimi......The sashimi was fresh and everything easy to enjoy. Pricing is very reasonable for what you get, and the service was excellent. Would come back again.

Our first time here to try Brazilian bbq menu and Asian Ayce. The place was busy and I am glad we made reservations. The Brazilian bbq was excellent. The only thing missing is a little salt and seasoning on the steaks. We enjoyed the bbq meats and Gauchos were coming by very frequently. There were about 5 different steaks. I didnt get to try the bacon wrapped medallions. Asian Ayce menu has some special items like sushi tacos, ceviche, chinese dim sum, etc. The maki rolls were filled with lots of seafood but a little bit too thick. We didnt have chopsticks to eat the rolls so we ended up using our hands. Overall the food was great and nice vibe here. The NBA Playoffs were playing on the tvs. The service here is friendly and they check on you regularly and refill your water pitcher. There's a 2.4% service charge if you pay by credit card. They encourage you to pay by cash or debit card. I downloaded the August 8 app so I can collect points for future rewards. I got 899 points for 2 adult Ayce dinners. I believe 1000 points = $5 off. The dinner buffet Friday-Sunday is $44.99. This is definitely an exceptional value considering you get Brazilian bbq meats. I will definitely come back when I am craving AYCE. Thank you August 8.

A few reasons why I consider this spot just ok. In terms of their food, I thought everything was up to standard. They do have some different items on their menu like different tatakis, ceviche, and sushi tacos, but for the sushi itself I was hoping for more specialty rolls.. their selection on the sushi front is pretty basic in my opinion. I did get to try their new Brazilian steak option and I felt their meats were very mediocre. I tried mostly everything that came my way and most cuts were chewy or fatty. They were also kind of inconsistent with their cutting service... sometimes I got little cubes of meat. I also felt servers didn't circulate well with the meat service. For instance, they would sometimes detour to a table across from us but wouldn't come back and get us with the offering, which was kinda frustrating when we'd see something we wanted. Dessert selection is pretty decent with ice cream, buns, cakes, and mango pudding. The restaurant space is very crammed. As a party of 2, we were seated at a small square table and I felt pretty close to those seated beside us. The 2-seater tables make it very hard to manage plates as they come in as well, since there's limited space to put things. Service was mostly attentive though in clearing our dishes. One thing that rubbed me the wrong way was that I saw a poster when we walked in that advertised a "$20 off" birthday month promo for members (which is free to sign up). When I asked the server about it since my bf just had his birthday, she said we wouldn't be able to take advantage as it takes 24 hours for your membership to kick in after registering, which I feel is a load of crap or designed deliberately as a schemy loophole. Like I made a reservation a week in advance, and indicated on the reso that it was for a birthday. Not that it should matter, but my bf has dined here a couple times already too. If you're going to advertise a birthday perk, either honour it fully, or don't offer it at all. I can see the appeal for this spot especially for those wanting to try it for the first time. But it's not up there for me in terms of quality, selection, and atmosphere.

Ordered a dinner for 2 for takeout and was satisfied with the ease of pickup. It came with miso soup, green salad, salmon sushi, shrimp sushi, tuna sushi, crab stick sushi, California roll, spicy salmon roll, chicken teriyaki, chicken fried rice, assorted tempura (2 shrimp, plus veggie tempura) and 2 veggie spring rolls. All of it was okay except for the broccoli tempura which was rotten.

This location of August 8 seems to be better than the other 2 we experienced earlier. Service is great and prompt, nice ambiance, quite clean and well illuminated interior. Food quality is good and nicely presented. Order placed (AYCE) to serve time is fast, quite impressive. Parking is convenient in the spacious parking lot of the plaza

This is a high end all you can eat Japanese style restaurant. You order on an Ipad and food is brought to your table. Seating time is limited to 1.5 hours. They have a buy two get one free to celebrate August8 on August 8, 2024. The meal is $41 for adults for dinner. (Drinks extra) The food was all incredibly fresh and well presented. I recommend trying they limited menu Wagyu special (one per person) as it was the most tasty thing we ate! Overall great date night or family outing experience. Will return in the future.

Went here for dinner (2x already) and never disappoint. Food is good and lots of options for sushi, rice tempura and deserts. Staff is amazing especially Neha who served us is very friendly. Kudos to her. Definitely will go back again. Always Recommend to my friends and family.

Food: We went for AYCE and it was super good! It was $41.99 cad (before taxes) and honestly, I'd say we got a good amount of food for the price. If you were to get something, get the Oshi sushi and miso soup! Even at an AYCE place, the oshi sushi (especially the salmon) was really good and I'd definitely come back just to order that continuously :) my friends also really enjoyed the mango salad. The ice-cream was a bit too icy for my liking but I can't complain since we were given basically unlimited ice-cream! One thing not to get: udon. It's a bit too bland so I didn't even finish the tiny bowl it came in. Overall, pretty good (but costly)! Service: It was good! The food came quickly and before we knew it, everything was already on the table. We didn't really need to call the waiters over for anything, however, we did notice that we were getting a couple of side eyes from some waiters since we stayed a bit more than they would've preferred (we were there for around 2 hours and went on a Tuesday night so there was no line up at all). I took a star off because I did feel a bit uncomfortable with the glances but we left promptly after paying. Overall, service was good and quick! Ambiance: 10/10 for ambiance, the music was great and everything was very clean! It looked like a middle-to-high-end sushi spot that you can go with friends or a date!

Solid ACE restaurant. Loved the sushi tacos which were a hit We had an amazing waitress who took care of business. The place was clean Food came fast Fresh and we look forward in coming back.

    Steak, salmon sashimi, dim sum

Delicious food! So happy they opened a location in Scarborough. Quick service and consistent taste.

Supposedly wagyu but just regular beef.

Not worth the price. Automatic 20% tips add on to groups of 6 or more. The sushi quality was decent and nice variety. They had torched sushi which is my go to. Dim sum was crap. None of them was good. Don't order Peking duck. It was gross. Fried squid was good. The dessert was nasty.

Delicious all you can eat Japanese fare and some others. First time at this location, but we used to frequent the downtown location. It's located within a plaza with plenty of free parking, so that's a perk. The items we tried were good for the most part. There are too many items to photograph each one, unfortunately. The restaurant is quite dark. They're really trying to set an ambiance here. The service was nice, and our server checked up on us a few times. However, the food service was all over the place and slow at times.

Items that I got this visit: - har gow shrimp dumplings: overall pretty good, but the wrapper was a bit thicker than I expected. Would prefer a thinning dumpling wrapper - chicken feet: excellent, very tender and flavor was great - tofu skin wrap in abalone sauce: pretty good, the meat inside was lean and well balanced with the veggies - spare ribs in black bean sauce: this was a bit of a disappointment. The ribs were a bit tough and also underseasoned. It could have used some more salt and some extra cook time. Service was fine, nothing special. The restaurant overall was pretty nice and modern. I hope to come back sometime and try some other dishes.

There were so many dishes I started losing track. LOL. I also don't know all the names of the dishes as I didn't see the menu. One of the dishes was a fried lobster. They showed the lobster to us (poor lobster) before cooking it. The lobster tasted really good but I'm not used to handling lobster in its shell. LOL. There was a pumpkin soup which I couldn't eat since it had dairy in it. Another dish was a Peking duck with rice paper wraps, cucumber & green onions. This was my favourite dish. Delicious, yummy & simple to eat. Another dish was chicken (I didn't taste that one). We also had a fried rice which was so yummy. Then there was a dish with scallops, oysters, pork & seaweed surrounding it. I tried the scallops & they were delicious. There was another duck dish but this time the duck was chopped into little pieces with some Dessert was a yogurt / jelly type of thing which I can't eat due to my dairy intolerance. Service was really great. I'm not sure if that's because I was at a table full of Chinese people though. LOL. The dishes came quickly & they just kept coming! We had tiny plates to eat from so after the lobster we got clean plates. For the fried rice we had the servers separate it into bowls for everyone. Since we couldn't finish all the food we had them wrap up the leftovers & we took it back with us. Myself & another co-worker split up the leftovers between us since no one else wanted it. Ambiance: The restaurant had some nice lunar new year decorations up. It was pretty. Located inside the Atrium on the Bay this is an easy location to get to. The location was the site of a former restaurant called Spring Rolls. It still looks the same the only thing that changed were the tables & chairs. The washrooms are downstairs in the lowest level of the restaurant. It was hard for me to get down there because my knees are really stiff & painful. It would've been nice if they had a handicap washroom on the main level. The food was delicious & service was attentive. I thought the special lunar new year meal we chose was too much food for six people. I would've been happy with dim sum. Also the washrooms being in the basement was an inconvenience for me. Those who are mobility challenged will have the same issue.

The individual New Century slow boiled soup is hardest to share but secure some empty bowls and you can divide the hefty portion. In the winter, there's a silkiness to the piping hot consommé that sooths a dry throat and has an umami essence infused with abalone, ginseng, and pork. There's plenty to choose from in the house signature combo platter including roasted duck, soy sauce chicken, BBQ pork, pork slices, and seaweed salad. Saving my stomach for the later dishes, I had a taste of the duck (a good start with crispy skin) and BBQ pork (satisfactory and well flavoured). With the generous portion of chicken in the combo platter, the slow cooked chicken with abalone broth seemed like overkill. I've never been a huge fan of this dish that's served cold since I prefer chicken hot. Still, I understand it's the jelly layer between the skin and meat that people enjoy. And to be fair, the chicken was tender, and New Century certainly didn't skimp on the ginger and scallion oil. For those who tend to fill-up before the "main dishes", the stars of the combo arrive mid-meal. The stir-fried Vancouver crabs with silver fish in HK style spicy sauce needs to be eaten at arrival as the crunchy coating is best straight from the fryer. And despite not looking spicy, the dish has a light heat that permeates in the background. Additionally, the crab was fresh and meaty, cooked well so it remained delicately flakey. The amount of sweet and sticky sauce used in the stir-fried lobsters with scallion in Maggie sauce was well balanced, lightly covering the crustaceans. Both lobsters were substantial; even after eating many pieces, we still had plenty of leftovers. This is a long review head to Gastro World for the rest.
