Literally, the best DimSum I've ever had in my life! We ordered 5 dishes and each one was so delicious! They were so flavourful that they can even not eaten with soy sauce. Except the ChongFan, it is the most special; it is served with a bottle of heated soy sauce. I never had chong fan being served like that but I found it makes so much sense to do so. Chong fan will be sticky when its temperature is down and pouring hot soy sauce (not hot sauce, lol) keeps the chong fan hot. The service is also good. Almost all of them can speak English, Cantonese and Mandarin, amazing! It's a big restaurant but it's so full of people. You usually need to wait for 30 minutes to be seated.

Woke up craving for some dim sum in Toronto and Google brought me here and man, was it good. We've been to quite a few dim sum places in Canada but I must say New Century is on the top of our list now. Service was fast and efficient, food was tasty, plenty of parking and plenty of seating. Reminds me of Hong Kong! Specials were suggested and it was so good. In and out and our bellies are happy!

New Century Restaurant I attended a group dinner a few weeks ago. Several in our group had commented that we attended a wedding here about 20 years ago. This was my first time back. Food 3.5 Service 4 Ambience 3.75 The restaurant appeared renovated. Decor is attractive. Seating and tables were quite spaciously set out. The food is nicely presented. We ordered the set menu for six and added a couple more dishes. Their menu is quite extensive. Dishes ordered: Seafood and Fish Maw Soup Double Lobster- was really small. Beef tenderloin with potatoes Tofu and shrimp Long green beans Fried fish Half steamed chicken Sweet and Sour Pork E-Fu Noodles Fried rice Important: It was really tricky to find the entrance to the actual restaurant. Several in our group entered through the entrance we each thought would be the restaurant and then we walked through the different paths in the mall to get to the entrance. We needed the help of the security desk in the mall. The mall closes at 9:00pm but one can still exit from the mall after 9pm at one of the entrances to the mall. I hope this is helpful. Outdoor parking is available outside in the plaza parking lot.

Today, tried a newly renovated place for lunch (dim sum), let me tell you this, it was a real disappointment. When they provided with a table it was right next to an exterior door, with people going in and out. The was a cold draft, we even had to tell the hostess/manager, if they could provide a divider to divert the draft from hitting our table. We ordered 9 dim sum dishes, one be Roasted Pig Mixed Cold Jellyfish, which was $23.80. I had the idea that it would be a fair portion. When it came, I was shocked, it was only 6 pieces of Roasted Pig. When I spoke with the manager about the portion size, he commented "for that price it is fair". There was not apologies and walked away, nor was it written on the menu. If I had known it was only 6 pieces (size of your index and middle finger put together). I would not have ordered it. If you want to have Roasted Pig, you can get better deals else where. Also, ordered Marinated Chicken Feet for $13.98, when it came to table, it was also a disappointment, part of the chicken feet was dark in colour, not even sure if it was even edible or not. Another dim sum dish that I have order was the steamed chicken with fish maw. The chicken was okay, but there was only two small pieces of fish maw, (the size of each piece was 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch). The order 6 dim sum dishes that was order was mediocre, tasted better from other Dim Sum restaurant. When I received the bill for the meal it came out to be $119.50, they even had included the tip. They didn't even give me an option weather a tip was even worthy. I will definitely not be returning to this place. I definitely do not recommend anyone to come to this restaurant. I would consider blacklisting this restaurant. It's simply deceiving customers.

New Century is an authentic Chinese restaurant offering dim sum by paper order form. There is usually a line on weekends and you may need to wait 20-40 min for a table depending on your group size. It can be difficult to flag down a server to pay. The servers general speak both Chinese (Cantonese) and English. The food is hot, flavourful, and authentic. My favorite dish is the Cheung-fun (Rice Noodle Roll).

My friend since high school was in town a few weeks ago. She now lives in Victoria. I hadn't seen her since before the pandemic. We are different. I'm a planner. She and her childhood friend craved dim sum. They let me know the night before that they wanted to hit Markham for dim sum with me. They wanted suggestions on an eatery that had good sim sum. It wasn't exactly a last-minute plan. It was on short notice, as we were meeting on a Thursday. Luckily, I was working from home, so it worked out that I could go for lunch by leaving my home for a change. I recommended New Century Restaurant. I'm not sure why I never reviewed it before. It has never disappointed me, so I was hoping that it would satisfy their dim sum needs. I live ten minutes away by car. I got an update that they were fifteen minutes away. I had forgotten that my fifteen minutes is different than my friend's version. I feel like I was German in a past lifetime and that I'm perhaps too punctual for my own good. My friend and her friend? Not so much! It was busy when I got to New Century Plaza, where this eatery is. I did manage to find an available parking spot. I was happy. I let them know that I'd get a table for us. I entered the mall entrance and walked all the way down to the eatery. There's also a non-mall entrance to this restaurant that I found out about later. I like going to dim sum because I get to practise my Cantonese and dust off the cobwebs. I had a nice woman greet me. I indicated that I'd like a table for three. She led me to a spacious table. She then asked me what tea I'd like. I said jasmine in Cantonese. She nodded and got some. I let my friend know that I got us table A6 closest to the wall before the mall entrance. It was great seeing her and meeting her friend. She was thankful that I had mentioned the table number in a sea of Chinese folks with dark hair like mine! They missed the rolling carts during dim sum. Sadly, this place didn't have any in the afternoon, but they were still okay with it. I suggested that we get six or seven different dim sum items first. If we wanted more, we could add to it. They liked that plan. My friend doesn't do beef. Instead, we ended up looking at a paper menu and selecting what we wanted with a pencil. We got these items: - Har gow - Siu mai - Steamed baby octopus in curry sauce - Steamed sticky rice in a lotus leaf - Shrimp rice rolls - Pork rice rolls - Steamed chicken and chives dumplings Service was decent here. A woman came over to grab our menu and food started to appear at our table. The jasmine tea was excellent. We got hot water fairly often, which was perfect. The food was excellent. It was authentic Cantonese dim sum. The har gow, siu mai, and steamed chicken and chives dumplings were massive, as if they grew up on steroids. They loved them and were so happy. I was happy that they liked my suggestion. Mission accomplished! My friend was so delighted with the dim sum that she took photos to send back to her partner in Victoria. It was cool. The steamed baby octopus in curry sauce is the best that I have had in the greater Toronto area. The octopus was perfectly steamed. The curry sauce was awesome. I'd come back just for this dish alone. They are into rice rolls. I was pleased because I love rice rolls, too. We got the shrimp and pork. The filling was generous in both. It was different that the pork rice rolls seemed to be stacked on the plate. The shrimp ones were presented normally and came with greens, which felt fancy and was different. They were delicious. They do rice rolls well here. We also got steamed sticky rice that was wrapped in a lotus leaf. My friend's childhood friend was wondering about what she was eating. It was yellow. I figured out that it was the yolk of a egg in it. We all loved how perfect this sticky rice was with Chinese sausage, egg, and more. The company was wonderful. I like when you meet someone for the first time and it feels comfortable. It was the case with my friend's friend. My friend surprised me by picking up the tab. She was thrilled that the price was right for the dim sum quality that we had experienced. She let me know that Victoria doesn't have decent dim sum. I'm so glad that she got her fix here. She used her credit card to pay. It was a nice treat. This eatery has washrooms. I didn't use the women's washroom. The other two did and didn't have any issues. There were more available parking spots at 3 pm. If you want to do dim sum then, parking is less stressful. The restaurant is huge. You can easily have your wedding party or a massive bash here. It's funny that we were so stuffed that we couldn't finish the last massive har gow. I asked for a container for it for my friend's friend. It fit perfectly in a tiny clear container. Perfect! I had a great time catching up with my friend and meeting her cool longtime friend. It was a wonderful afternoon chatting over dim sum and jasmine tea. (115)

I haven't been to New Century Chinese restaurant in a long time and it was most likely for dim sum back then. This time, I was here for a gala, featuring a ten course banquet dinner. Yummm! As usual, this feast started with a platter of Roasted Suckling Pig with Jellyfish. Scallops and Chicken with Snap Peas followed, along with Stuffed Crab Claws, and a Seafood with Fish Maw Soup. The food just kept coming, with Sweet and Sour Pork, Crispy Fried Chicken, and Lobster up next. We were all getting stuffed but it's hard to refuse the Steamed Fish, Fried Rice, and Noodles. Our meal ended with light desserts and full bellies! The food was all delicious, and the service was efficient, albeit not the friendliest (from our server). The restaurant was renovated since my last visit and it looked good, nice decor Overall, it was a good evening of tasty food and festivities.

new century restaurant used to be a go to spot while growing up in this area, and since they have renovated, the decor is clean and luxurious. they removed the cart ladies and have a pen and paper to order food now, which seems pretty standard. we ordered 40 items so we expected a bit of a wait for everything, but came in a timely manner! Food was delicious and the families favourites is the rice rolls, from beef, pork, then shrimp. we enjoyed all the classics and would definitely continue to go for morning dimsum, but they do get busy

This Chinese/ dim sum Restaurant is huge! It can be divided into three sections for private functions/ events. I went here for their dim sum, and it did not disappoint! My favourite item was the steamed spare ribs and the chui chow fried noodle! 3 dim sum and a noodle dish was plenty of of food for two people- we packed some of the noodles home! Pro: Plaza offer free parking, accepts credit card payment, and friendly servers Cons: Servers weren't the most knowledgeable of the menu

They have some really good dim sum in Toronto. We stopped off at New Century Restaurant in Markham based on a YouTube video extolling the dim sum. I have to say it was just as good if not better than many of the dim sum restaurants in NYC (my hometown). They don't do the dim sum on the rolling cart but in many ways that better..dim sums are freshly made. We have many dishes. I love the congee with pork and preserved egg, cheung fun with shrimp, fried beef ribs with honey, steamed pork meatball and pork siu mai.

Came by for dim sum the other day and it was surprisingly a decent experience. New Century is located in a decrepit Asian mall with parking available in the parking garage or in the private lot. The interior of the restaurant seems recently remodeled and luxurious although the carpet and seat coverings were starting to show age. Staff wore a uniform, mask, and gloves. Started off with the baked BBQ pork buns and they were freshly baked with soft bread, flavorful BBQ pork, and topped with some light icing. Moved on to the BBQ pork rice noodle rolls which were very thin and the flavored soy sauce was served on the side. My favorite was the pork rice noodle rolls which had super slippery pork which was tasty. The squid dish was lackluster as it was overcooked and extremely rubbery. The pea sprouts were mediocre as some of it was rather past their prime... The beef tendons were tender and flavorful. The har gow was great with numerous fresh and flavorful shrimp wrapped in a translucent wrapping. Service by the staff was available. The washroom was a touch bizarre. The integrated soap dispenser behind the mirrors were non-operational. There were bottles of hand sanitizer with some mysterious liquid that may have been soap. ~$23/head after tax and gratuity for dim sum with plenty of leftovers.

I wanted to try out a new dim sum place and New Century Restaurant was pretty good. It was quite busy inside but service was pretty quick overall. We were able to get a table, our food, and service pretty swiftly. The chicken feet, sui mai, and fried shrimp roll were my top 3. The har gow and fried shrimp ball with almonds were good too. I ordered the steamed bean curd roll but I should have ordered the steamed bean curd roll with chicken and mushroom. Both are two complete opposites. I wasn't a big fan of the steamed bean curd roll. This dim sum place is a bit on the pricier side but the portion sizes are larger than others. Although, there is a tea charge. Overall, New Century Restaurant is worth the try.

I was hoping to find something special on the menu. The Peking duck caught my eye at around $70, but then I discovered that almost everything else was extra--lettuce wraps, stir-fried duck meat, fried rice, and soup. By the time you add the extras, the bill is easily another $50 or more, bringing the total to well over $120. We decided to pass, and judging from the dishes we did order, that was probably the right decision. The hot and sour soup had plenty of heat and tang but lacked depth of flavor and was under-seasoned for my taste. Fortunately, we only ordered a small bowl. The deep-fried tofu was bland and forgettable. The stir-fried shrimp was acceptable but nothing special. The biggest disappointment was the sweet and sour pork. I specifically asked the server to make sure the pork was crispy, but it arrived soft and lumpy rather than light and crunchy. Even the complimentary red bean dessert soup was watery and lacked flavor. Our bill came to about $104 for two people. For the quality of the food, I didn't feel it offered good value. Sadly, after several disappointing visits, I don't think we'll be returning.

The also gave us wet wipes and more napkins without us requesting it. They even offered us additional soup, which we declined as we were quite full.

Overall this place deserves 5 stars. It usually doesn't disappoint…read more I've been coming here for literally over 30 years. And the food is top notch. But I gave it 4 stars because of the experience yesterday. The food was substandard on this visit. I ordered 1. Jumbo seafood congee (taste was bland) 2. Grouper and tofu hot pot (best of all 4) 3. Black bean and beef Hofun (seriously lacking in quality) 4. Chinese dough fritters (awesome as always) I would say I was 50% satisfied with the meal. But I will be back as I said this place hardly disappoints and Even with this experience it's still an easy recommendation to come here I hope next time the quality is up to their old 30 year standards.

My childhood fave was the familiar taste of century egg and shredded pork congee which we often ate with 油条 a freshly fried dough. B17 - Shredded Pork & Preserved Egg Congee. Good value. Fast service. Always tasty. Congee Wong is generous with their soup ingredients compared to other congee restaurants. Popo and Gunggung's favourite soup was D9 - Shrimp Dumpling Noodle in Soup. Rice noodles were made right and they were not overcooked. They preferred it with a bit of gai lan. P72 - Vegetable with Oyster Sauce. The veggies were slightly overcooked but still edible. This establishment has been here for years. Some people might find the decor outdated but it holds special memories to many of us patrons.

They leave you with the rest of the bones in a separate container to take home. My biggest complaint was that everything was so oily and the duck was also very fatty. The parking lot is shared with many other shops and many have reserved spots infront of their shop making the parking exercise a little tedious. The setup is like a canteen where you order Togo or there are a few tables to enjoy with. There is a hot water boiler if that's your beverage of choice. I chose the BBQ pork and duck over rice and found the pork very fatty and skin a little chewy (not the crisp burst in your mouth texture). The duck on the other hand was well seasoned but chewy. The meat was tough in a not so pleasant way. The rice was on the harder side (there are so many preferences here and will not cast judgement. There was plenty of sauce on the rice but did not have a strong flavour to enhance the flavours just to look nice. The accompanying sides - marinated Tofu and cabbage was nice and refreshing. The soup was well flavoured and washed down the food nicely. I will lineup back in the FMP food court for the BBQ fix and wish the best for this newer establishment. **they did sell out of their suckling pig rice and may come back to try it out.
