I made an appointment to get a new eyeglass prescription. As I was led to a room, I told the lady that I wasn't going to get my eyes dilated today. You'd have thought I told her I was gonna stick needles in my eyes the way she reacted. She told me that "everyone" got their eyes dilated to which I repeated that I wasn't doing that today. She continued to push, saying it was "protocol". I reiterated that I wasn't doing that today and when she continued trying to get me to acquiesce, I told her that she was probably used to old people giving in after that much pressure, but that wasn't gonna happen with me, and I asked her nicely to just drop it. She said she, "Wasn't gonna get talked to like that" and stormed out. When Dr. Daniel came in he seemed a bit uptight... and began to explain why I should get dilated. I told him why I wasn't and that I was supposed to be just getting a new prescription. He seemed a bit chapped and then he walked out. I got the impression that they don't like being told "no". I know the reasons for the need to get dilated, but I just wasn't able to do that TODAY. They did send in a nice lady, Hailey, to examine my eyes and she was friendly and professional.. but I won't be going back there. read more

Augusta Eye M.D. is the absolute BEST if you want to have the very best, top notch care by an eye doctor ( Mine is Dr. Anthony Daniel's ) + I must mention Dr. Staats too, as he has helped me too . Dr. Daniel's takes his time with you , you never feel rushed by him , he tells you everything in detail about what is wrong with your eyes in layman's terms , he cares about making sure you know exactly how to care for your eyes and recommends a solution to you even before you ask . Dr. Daniel's shows genuine care, professionalism, and makes you feel totally at ease like you are the only patient . I must add this , too, if you have an issue with your eyes and they know what it is , they ( the staff + the doctor ) save you time and money by letting them know the issue and they will call your pharmacy with a prescription to save you time too , This has been SO very helpful for me at least 3 times being a patient here ! Also , THE STAFF is , I must praise their entire staff's professionalism for making you feel comfortable and at ease from the moment you walk in the door until you walk out ! This place is so very organized, cozy , and the staff just goes many ,many extra miles to make you feel you made the right decision to be their patient ! I want to give a shout out to several that are simply the best ! First , there was Tracey who did an examination and it was exceptionally thorough! When I say Tracey is through I mean she asked every question that was needed and did a stellar assessment before I was seen by Dr. Daniel's himself after she finished with me ! YAY, TRACEY! , Then , after my awesome appointment with Dr. Daniel's , I needed new glasses and I had the most wonderful , pleasant lady named Angie who helped me with glasses ! Such a delightful woman , caring, kind, knowledgeable, she picked out glasses for me because the ones I had picked were not complimentary for me . Angie knows her skill , super knowledgeable about helping fit new glasses and explaining everything , Keep it up, Angie ! And , to top it off , there is Sharon at the front desk whenever you check out ! She is phenomenal!! Always a smile , happy to see you , asks if you need anything , Sharon is fabulous! I cannot leave out Noel , front desk , fantastic personality and I would never leave out Jennifer, who has known me forever and ever from another eye doctor , and she is superb! I can not express how much you should avoid this place. 1st- After I scheduled an appointment upon arrival they informed me that I came on the wrong day Monday rather than the previous Friday. They were adamant that it was my fault. I said I never received a call or text on Friday and the person at the front desk said they don't do that in which the other desk lady informed us they most certainly do. After being turned away when I got home I received a call saying that I missed my appointment showing the error was on their side. 2nd- After rescheduling check in they changed me $60. On my way out the same woman who stud up for me before asked why I was charged due to my insurance. Talking with her they informed me that i shouldn't have been charged but it's "Not possible" to void a charge on their end so they changed me $10 and said they would drop the $60. This never happened so I just got scammed out of $70. 3rd- In office they verified that my glasses were partially covered by my insurance so of the $500 I would only have to pay $200ish. I just received a bill in the mail denying the claim costing me the full $500. In total I lost a full morning and was told it was my fault with out question and am out $370 that I was not expecting to have to pay going into the holidays. I will never be returning and hopefully will have better luck at the mall. read more

I'm a young healthy adult with decent eye sight; however, I went in for a routine eye exam as a requirement for a new job. I chose Augusta Eye, MD because it was in network and relatively close to my home. When I arrived the check in process was smooth even through the altered COVID procedures. I was seen quickly and felt like I had received a very comprehensive eye exam. However, a few weeks later I received a surprisingly hefty bill in the mail. My insurance had been billed for $400+ for what I thought was a routine eye exam. I called the billing office numerous times to find out what I could have possibly been billed for, but I got no answer. Finally, I reached out to my insurance only to find that false claims for completely made up conditions had been billed for! This behavior is absolutely unacceptable and quite frankly criminal. I will not be visiting here again or recommending them to any healthy person looking for a routine eye exam. If you're looking for an optometrist, family has been quite happy with Dr. Fowler at the Costco in Augusta. And even though he is outside our insurance, his rates are much more reasonable and never fraudulent! read more

I wear specialized lenses which require multiple visits for a proper fit and in the 4+ years I've been working with Rebecca I have never been disappointed in the attention I received. My Mom is 93. She was to have eye surgery. At that age, we have questions. He is obviously intimidated by questions because he said, "I know what I'm doing and your questions make me nervous." Wow! I've been going to Dr Stuart Marks for several years and can't express how much I like this Ophthalmologist. He is very thorough and patient. All of my prescriptions for eyewear have been spot on. I must also give my very highest praise to Rebecca Knott, the contact optician and specialist. She is absolutely WONDERFUL and knows her job from top to bottom. Rebecca has just assisted me in getting fitted for Scleral lenses and I couldn't be happier! These lenses are truly the best lenses I've ever worn! The clarity and ideal fit are extraordinary! I have been to this office before and have been treated well. This past week was a different story. I needed to have a visual field test done, and was apparently moving my head too much because one of the clerks pushed my head into the machine and kept her hand there. She and another clerk then whispered to each other incessantly. As I was having difficulty with the test, one of the clerks warned me that she would get into trouble if the test was "done wrong." After mulling over this encounter, I believe these actions could be described as racial and ageist microaggressions. read more

I had a great experience with Dr. Davis and his staff. I was able to be seen in a few days after I called for an appointment. I used to do process improvement so I am very aware of wait times. I was called back in less than 5 minutes for my vision exam. I thought the technician was excellent. Dr. Davis came in right after the exam for the medical exam and then I was on my way. The facility is very nice, but the waiting area is confusing since it is shared with the optician office and there are smaller waiting areas elsewhere. The optician office was too busy to see me after my appointment, but they called me back the next morning to get me in. read more
