We were sat down immediately after that we took a minute to look at the menus as soon as we took down the menus we were greeted by a waiter. The food was amazing. Waiter was super nice. Took a little while for the bill, but that's OK and I got to keep the cup from my desserts, so that is fun..

It's well established restaurant in heart of Munich downtown with authentic German cuisine. It's within the high street market. Indoor and outdoor seating. Two floors with mixed individual and big sharing tables. Full bar in downstairs. Foods are German sausages, soups and meaty dishes. Clear Veggie section in menu. Good variety of beers. Ambience is great with quick service and English speaking staff. Easy accessible with flat entry and wide routes. Good for groups, gathering and meetups. Free street parking and paid parking lots available around the plaza.

    Helles? Yes, please! Danke Schön!

It's just proper restaurant experience. Efficient, timely service. Delicious, quality German food. It's intimate. Has a family / community feel to it. It's great overall and I haven't even mentioned to Helles yet!

Honestly we left here disappointed. Food - 2.5/5 Value - 2/5 Service - 2/5 Ambience - 4/5 The decoration inside was probably the best part. The food was salty and average, nothing to balance it out. The service was slow and they seemed disinterested in us.

It is extremely difficult to walk in this restaurant right before Oktoberfest. The receptionist was kind enough to tell me to try one hour later and gave a table for five people. We had a fantastic time here. The table was on first floor and at window so we were able to control the window to bring some breeze. Overall the food was good although the roasted pork, one of unique dishes of this restaurant, didn't really impress me. I rank here four stars mainly because of the wonderful ambience here and our courteous waitress. She was extremely responsive and helpful. She said she came from Nuremberg and it was her 2nd day working here.

5 star taste, but we suffered from food poisoning after this meal so minus 2 stars for that. We had a late 3pm lunch of the salad and the roasted pork shoulder special. In high likelihood, the raw lettuce in the salad was the cause of gastro-gruel. But looking back on the pork photos, I can't help but imagine that I'd dwell there, too, if I were a bacteria. Besides the nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, body ache, and extreme fatigue, this was my first Bavarian meal and I had a great time! The pork skin was crispy in perfect juxtaposition with the tender meat. The flavorful gravy was not too heavy as I feared. I can't say I would have eaten the potato dumpling if it didn't already automatically come with the plate. The salad was good too. Nothing too special but it helped cut through the deep flavors of pork with some brighter vinegar action. Waitress was nice. I would go back! I think.

In the shadows of the Frauenkirche Cathedral you will find our absolute favorite Wirtshaus in Munich. Like a magnet we find ourselves returning ... something feels just right! The food, the service, the people watching ... the Augustiner beer! The sound of wooden kegs being tapped, an elevator bringing them up from the basement. Inside or out ... the atmosphere oozes Bavaria.

Whole roasted pork knuckle. Huge! And delicious.

Friendly waiter and good food. Nice atmosphere and cold beer! Yay! Great location close to the Marionplatz.

This restaurant offered a traditional Bavarian experience in every sense. The waiting staff was very accommodating towards my friends and I (we are American). I had the potato dumpling with pork knuckle, sauerkraut, red cabbage, nurnberger sausage, with apple strudel for desert. Everything came out great. The dumpling and pork in particular were delicious. For me, the stand out was the apple strudel. You can tell they make everything with love here. Definitely check this place out if you're in Munich.

A crisp beverage to wash off the full flight from New York. Happy to be here. Great food! You will enjoy the crisp pork and sausages.

Very good, traditional, german cuisine. Hard to go wrong here. Beautiful weather and day to sit outside on their front patio. Quick and fast service with menus in English (for non-deutsch speakers). I had the jaegerschnitzel which was fresh and delish. All of my colleagues thoroughly enjoyed their dishes. And the beer...... yum!

Pork knuckle is the best I have eaten to date! Crispy skin all around with moist meat on the inside. Fresh cheese spätzle. Tender steak. Cute little sausages have a little extra something something. Just say yes.

Great Bavarian place that gave us our first taste or pork knuckle, among other Bavarian delicacies. Loved the cheese spetzel and the mushroom patties And all was quick, efficient and served in a cool, traditional atmosphere.

The restaurant was just a ten minute walk from the hotel and on the way we passed a multitude of restaurants. We walked into a very friendly and busy environment. We went to a side room that was just a bit quieter and without missing a beat... ordered a beer. Hard to make a choice with their comprehensive menu, but keeping with our tradition of eating lighter in the evening while traveling we went with: - Tomato and Mozzarella salad - A large piece of toasted bread - Veal Schnitzel with potatoes - Apple Strudel Without going through each item in detail I will say that everything was fantastic! Tomatoes and cheese were so fresh and tasty and the schnitzel was wonderful... Not enough good things to say about the amazing strudel..... Nothing like having apple strudel in Germany. I thought the chicken was over cooked and the capers inside was a bit off putting to me because there were so many and made the whole dish too sour for me. It was a bit off putting. My friend had the fillet with white asparagus and potatoes and hollandaise sauce. It was basic but I preferred her dish. The dessert had strawberry and tarragon I believe. It was well balanced, not too sweet, and I liked the herbs with the dessert. They also had a nice drink menu and a good variety of wines. They did not let us try the wine before pouring it which I expected since this is a nice place. Overall thought the service was decent but not great.
