Aunt Kerry's Pet Stop ad appeared in a Dog Living magazine I read over coffee while vacationing in Carolina Beach. As I'm hoping to get an Akita puppy this summer, I'm stocking up on puppy goodies and supplies and decided to visit Aunt Kerry's on the way back home from the beach. Wow! The store is small, but the quality of the goods is incredible and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Most of what I saw was for dogs, but there is a small cat section. They have natural pet food, leashes, collars, cool toys, treats, and water bowls. I got Zoë a colorful collar with beach umbrellas on it. Although I don't live in Wilmington or Carolina Beach, I'm looking forward to taking my new companion on beach vacations when she arrives. And I know where we'll be stopping along the way! Shopped for the first time here (I am an avid PetSmart shopper), and I must say I will never go back to PetSmart (unless I absolutely can't get something from here). The customer service was extraordinary. I walked in and someone came up to me and asked if I needed help, which I did (shopping for birthday treats and a Thunder Shirt for my parents German Shepherd). I told them what I was looking for and they took me to the product and gave me advice on using it. Upon checking out they gave me a birthday bag for Bella and also a sample of their cookie bar for her. May have to bring her in to meet these super nice people. They went above and beyond. My fur babies have developed a food allergy so I called around to figure out what to do. The employees here were very knowledgeable and helpful. They recommended that I bring in the list of ingredients in their old food to make sure the new food was safe. I dropped by with both the dogs yesterday afternoon and was very impressed with the large inventory of specialty foods. The woman who helped us gave both my babies a treat and even let us sample the new food before purchasing. My favorite part about this business is that they have a money back guarantee for all of the animal food. The woman taking care of us even helped me out to the car! They also have a small selection of bowls, toys, leashes, and clothing. They have a nice staff who are more than willing to help you out. I shopped at Aunt Kerry's Pet Shop for the very first time recently. I walked in with a concern about the diet for my older cat. I was greeted in a friendly way, the individual assisting me was friendly, knowledgable and informative. I was given a sample of food to try with my cat and we had a conversation on how to introduce it. I appreciate the ease and friendliness of my interactions and how generously I was treated in being given a sample to see how my cat would respond. Aunt Kerry's Pet Stop has a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. As a new pet owner it was great to receive some professional advice as to how I should rotate proteins for my Labradoodle puppy due to being an allergy prone breed. The natural dog food recommended was a great price (better than the internet, and they told me the great story behind the brand - Earthborn Holistic) and they set me up for an automatic loyalty program to save even more should I continue buying the brand (which I will). I always prefer to patronize small local businesses, and even more so when they offer a much better experience than the larger chains. Petco was okay and is a little closer to my home, but Aunt Kerry's is worth going a little out of the way to get much better service and to support a great local business.
