The Gumbo man serves many classic NOLA staples from Gumbo, Po Boys, Boudin balls, and much more. The service is always friendly and with a smile or joke. The upside is that the food is absolutely amazing, the downside, because the food is so good, you may have a bit of a wait if the line is long. Best bet is to check his Facebook page for his location and try to make it before everyone else does. Today, I ordered my favorite, a shrimp po boy and also a large pepper jack boudin ball. The po boy is classic, French bread, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo, and overly loaded with very fresh shrimp. I always eat a bunch of shrimp off the sandwich before I take a bite because it's that loaded! The boudin ball was a first for me. It was a crunchy outside, and a hot smooth inside packed with flavor and goodness. I will definitely be getting this again. He never disappoints from food, drinks, to deserts The Gumbo Man has you covered. Make sure you go find him. The food is more than worth the wait, if you have to. The only downside is it took 2 hours . Not sure if that's the norm due to this being first time, but definitely took a while, luckily I was able to sit in the car All the food was good. Gumbo was great, the brisket was flavorful and tender, the sides were great. The wings were really good, my least favorite was probably the mac and cheese. Oh! My only disappointment is when my flight arrives when they are not open for business ....but you can bet on my stopping by for some outstanding tacos every time I get into Jax and they are open. Yesterday was no exception. The service is fast and friendly the food is authentic. ABSOLUTELY NO COMPLAINTS!!! If you're local, you're crazy for not trying Happy Tacos Feliz. I try to keep up with most of the trucks but this one slid by me I guess. They are just country folks really nice with a nice trailer to. The food I had today was just some pulled pork and some beef brisket a sad portion for what I paid them. they are two of my favorites meats and they did all right. The meat was very tender and the pork was pulled gingerly. Leaving not much fat which can bite you in the long run. The meat was a little dry but they did have some sauces. I believe store bought if I had to say. They were everyone favorite sauces in Carolina gold and sweet baby rays. The brisket was tender and pulled apart easily. It just didn't have that smoky flavor that I want in my Q. I did see their smoker behind the trailer with a bunch of wood stacked up next to it. So go figure then.

The pulled pork sandwich is amazing. The bun is a bit greasy..but it pork its suppose to be, and the pork is tend and so flavorful. Then I added the coleslaw just because I like mine that way. Top it with some hot sauce and now I have found my favorite pulled pork sandwich food truck. It's so yummy I went back the next day to try the ribs. Ribs, no sauce...they offer you some if you want it, but these babies are delicious without sauce and I love a nice sauce but I passed on the sauce. Tender and good. 3 big ribs and 2 sides which I choose the coleslaw and potato salad both very good. You can also get French fries of you like. This is not a vegetarian stop nor a low sodium place to come. The next day you may have a bit a water retention. You dont do this type of food every day of the week, but when you do this little obscure Food Truck on Main Street in Jacksonville is the place to stop. There is a picnic table to sit and eat and lots of friendly conversation. You will love this place!

It was so cute, his daughter was running the cash register, she was maybe about 10 yrs old. Customer service was amazing. I ordered 3 ribs, and it is sitting on a couple of pieces of bread. it came with a side and a canned drink The ribs were perfectly seasoned, and not fall off the bone, but was holding on to the bone. It was just tender enough to stick to the bone. The BBQ sauce was good. I got the corn on the cob, I think they cooked it in sugar! Not really my thing. The bread was so soft, I don't even eat bread like that. The owner said, the Oxtails is a must try. Yes, I will follow them on IG and when I'm in the mood for some soul food I don't cook I will find them.

Trevor is from the Bahamas and his wife is from Kingston Jamaica. They cook everything like they ate growing up in the islands. They even have the old oil barrel smoker/grill for the Jerk Chicken. He has (like me) found a source for that smoke flavor for his chicken. Pimento wood from Jamaica. Now I have finally caught up with Trevor. We have talked on the phone a couple of times. His food is delicious the chicken was very moist and had the spice of the jerk that I have been craving since the Jamaican Jerk Festival. That place just missed the mark, bad. The Oxtail was also cooked perfectly. Tender and almost fall off the bine with some killer flavors. The plantains were sweet with a slight crisp to them. I really can't wait to see them again. We just have to get them hooked up with Jax Truckies and into the public eye. Right now they are out by the airport right in front of Dick Gore's RV.
