Delicious meat pies! I picked up these pies at their location in the Escondido Auto Park area. They have parking out front but it looked like a doozy with its incline into the dirt so I just drove around looking for street parking. I do not recommend trying if you have a lowered car. I did not put in an order but was glad to hear that they had many of their items available frozen. They are expensive so expect that. The pies are a decent size with generous fillings. My favorites were the Sausage Rolls & the Minced Meat & Cheese, tasty! Since I got them frozen, she gave me a rundown of how to heat up the pies & they came out perfectly. Meat pies were tasty! Pricing seems a tad high. The pricing we saw on Facebook and paid onsite were higher by 2-3 dollars. I think we paid $40 total for 3 pies. Also we were not a fan of the locked front door and being quickly ushered out. But it's their business front and that works for them. So we think it's tasty. We will try them again. Tad over priced for the portion but not for the high-quality ingredients and taste. They are extremely delicious and high-quality. But not something we are used to paying for at that price. We hope they can get a more friendlier store front in the future and, with scale, perhaps, lower their pricing a tad. But that is our perspective. If you like meat pies, these are authentic. Tried this for the first time because of Too Good to Go. I got two meat pies, one steak and mushroom and the other chicken curry. I just finished the chicken curry one and it was amazing! The pie is so flaky and flavorful. I'd never tried a meat pie before and honestly am blown away. It tastes fresh, delicious, and full of love! I get them every year during the Escondido Renaissance Faire through Oscar's food booth which has these, and they are the perfect on-the-go food there while I'm running around as a pirate. During this COVID-19 ordeal, the Esco Ren Faire was cancelled, so I was sad I couldn't get my meat pie fix, but then a friend told me that they had frozen delivery available! My mind was blown, and my stomach was grumbling, so I messaged and put in an order right away. Got them, and this past week my taste buds have been in heaven! I have traveled Australia on three separate trips for over a month each time. When I was in in Cairns, there was a bakery where I would get a coffee and sausage roll w/ ketchup every morning. It was such a simple food but so delicious and filling and when I think about it all the memories of my trips and highlights flash through my head. I've known about Aunty Devi's pie factory in Escondido for a long time, but it's never open when I'm available. When I was at the Poway Farmers Market this past Saturday they had a pop-up stand selling both hot and frozen pies. I bought a few frozen to take home. If you can, unless you have a toaster over, try to buy your pies already heated up. The cooking instructions were not very effective and I had to cook frozen ones longer than expected. The pies were great and are a perfect size for lunch or a snack. - Mince Pies are my favorite - Steak. Cheese, and Jalapeno = Hot!!! Yes, these pies are pricy, but unless you are willing to make them yourself, there is no competition. Wife and I are staying at the Welk Resort in Escondido. The resort had a Farmers Market and Aunty Devi's was one of the food vendors. I had heard about meat pies but hadn't found a place that served them so we stopped and ordered a Steak and Mushrooms and Lamb & Rosemary. We absolutely enjoyed the Steak and Mushrooms, as for the Lamb & Rosemary my wife liked it but was expecting pieces of lamb instead it was minced (ground). We tried their Minced and Chicken pies which were also very delicious and ordered frozen pies (Minced (ground beef), Steak and Mushroom, and Chicken) to bring home that we picked up at their place of business. We loved these meat pies on our trip to New Zealand and were delighted to find them locally. The pastry is flaky and tender, and the fillings are yummy! Absolutely LOVE picking up pies and Scotch eggs at the Hillcrest Farmers' Market in San Diego on Sundays. My only wish is that the Scotch eggs have a more runny/jammy yoke, but I get that it's nearly impossible to do that if you aren't making them to order every time. Otherwise, they're PERFECT! As a kiwi, living in North County, I was stoked to find a Kiwi bakery, run by a Kiwi, and who makes some of the best pies I have ever tasted.
