Absolutely beautiful cake! Bought this for my girlfriend's birthday and she cried from how perfect it was. Black frosting I'm sure is horrible to work with and even harder to get right and Milk & Honey Bakery did it perfectly. There was even a layer of regular buttercream frosting which was perfectly thought out because the black dye made the frosting a bit chalky so that white layer was an additional touch for the flavor bit. I was searching for a dessert for my parents' anniversary, and came across the pineapple upside-down cinnamon rolls. My mom's favorite treat are cinnamon rolls, and my dad loves pineapple upside-down cake, so these were absolutely perfect! I coordinated a complicated pick-up with the bakery and they were more than accommodating. My parents were drooling over these. Service was excellent. I was initially so excited to work with this bakery. They work out of their home and I was happy to work with a small local business. I hired them for a birthday party that had recently. We discussed in detail how I wanted the cake. I specifically requested that fruit compote should be used between the layers because I did not want an overly sweet cake. Hannah, the lady who helped was so kind and helpful. On the day of the party, I received a call from Hannah in the late afternoon letting me know that they "forgot to use the fruit compote and had used buttercream in between the layers. It was too late to change it. I got a cake that was exactly the opposite of what I had requested. Very sweet! So overly sweet due to the excess buttercream frosting that was used!!! Almost no one ate it. When I requested they reimburse me for at least half of the cost of the cake they told me that their policy was only 20%. They held fast even though they had not provided me with what I ordered. They are an awful company that does not have the integrity to stand by their product and the end results! I heated them up for a few seconds and they come out nice and chewy. I also loved that they aren't overly sweet. My daughter had the lemon poppy seed bread, which she described as lemony goodness.
