You get what you pay for, their meat is good. I asked for a specific piece and he proceeded to ignore me and chose the piece that he felt inclined to give me. The piece was a much smaller size. I told him that I wanted the other piece because it was a better size(not too small, not too big). He went on to say that they are all the same size and stuffed the bag with both pieces! Don't know if he's trying to meet a quota! Or just upset that I interrupted his cleaning routine. Granted, it was 7:00PM when I was shopping. I chose another type of meat as well, and made sure to tell him I only wanted one piece of that one. As a customer this experience did not make me feel valued. It made me feel very ignored. He then facetiously started wishing me a good day. I proceed to checkout and let the lady know what had just happened & she graciously mentioned that she could tell him to take it out. I was like that's ok. Just wanted to get out of there. I was very upset and mentioned to her that'll just leave a review. Don't know if she was one of the owner's wives ;), because she proceeded to let me know that management doesn't see the reviews anyways. I responded that this is a review for us customers to see, but as good business management I would think a business would like to see their reviews here and there. Anyhow, $90+ later, for three pieces of meat(one in which I didn't ask for) and a salsa, you bet my bottom dollar that I am going to write a review. *Changed the review to 2 stars. After I got home, & as I opened my packages(2 different kinds of marinated meat) in which I only wanted ONE steak of each. I came to find out he gave me TWO of each. marinated flavor--when I only wanted one of ea. Rude man gave me TWO of each kind!!! It all worked out on our side of things, but if this situation was to happen again, I will definitely will let that man know that I asked for one piece AND to take the others out. But then again, I highly doubt I will be going back there anytime soon!!!

It's a South African dried meat that's air cured. We got the beef stick version and the sliced version. It became an addicting snack. It's premium meats, thin and fatty. Finally had the chance to make it to the Store. Met the owner and creator, Michael. Super friendly nice guy. He took us in the back to show us how it's made. There were two rooms. One can be considered the wet lab where meats were marinated and prep. The second room was the dry room where meats were hanged to dry. We couldn't remember which one we purchased at the fair and they had new packaging. Michael let us try samples and we ended up getting 4 different kinds. The people around me were friendly, and one gentleman even mentioned this was the place that used to be near Peterson's Donuts. Fast forward to today, Saturday, April 25, 2026 around 10:30 AM, and unfortunately, my second experience was the complete opposite. This time there was a young woman working the register, and from the moment I approached, she didn't seem very welcoming. I told her I wanted to order a breakfast burrito but wasn't sure what kind I wanted today. She told me the only options were bacon, egg, cheese and tater tots, or egg and cheese. I politely asked if I could add ham and sausage and pay extra, since that's what I had ordered before. She immediately responded that they "didn't have that type of breakfast burrito." That response confused me because I had literally ordered one there before. I wasn't going to argue, especially because her tone and attitude made me feel like I was bothering her just by asking questions. I then asked if the burrito could be cut in half and never really got a clear response. I also noticed the salsa station no longer had the little self-serve cups available, so I had to ask for those too. The same cashier asked how many I needed, and I said two. A few minutes later, another woman called my name and handed me the burrito. I sat down and realized it wasn't cut in half like I requested. At that point, I had to go back up and ask for a plastic knife and fork just to cut it myself. Which was not a problem or issue for me. I ate half of the burrito, but honestly, it wasn't nearly as good as the first one. The taste was underwhelming, and by the time I left I was just so disappointed. I ended up throwing the other half away after I left. Consistency matters, especially when the first experience set the bar high. The food was great the first time, but the service and quality were lacking the second time around. My honest opinion: if someone is having a bad day, they probably shouldn't be the first face customers interact with at the register. I may update this review depending on how management responds, because I know this place can do better based on my first visit.
