For those that do not know, malasadas are fried Portuguese donuts and they are yummy. Anyway, I settled for Jin dui and ensymadas. Ensaymada is a type of Filipino soft, sweet dough pastry covered with butter and sugar then topped with lots of grated cheese. Delicious sweet buttery bread. Hubby liked the Jin dui. Last, I wanted to do something nice for the kids.. to show a bit of positivity in light of darkness. I purchased 40 teddy bears and I placed an order w/ Heidi to surprise the same kids that are waiting for the stuffed animal surprise to arrive. Heidi reached out to me thanks to the FB group. Her bakery is also listed on the sheet where businesses have been impacted, so I knew I would help brighten the kids' day and support a local business. I ordered 4 dozens. She has a lot to choose from, but Heidi suggested chocolate chunk and snickerdoodle to keep it simple for the kids. I agreed, but could have opted for any/other flavors if I wanted to. After a few exchanges, the cookies were picked up yesterday. Look at the packaging! So beautiful! I bet it tasted delicious and decadent as well. They interacted with their customers with so much aloha. It was also Sabrina's birthday one of the days we came by so she shared extra malasadas & even gave me a rose from her birthday bouquet.
