Not as good as before and I recommend only stop by only when you're in the area. No need to drive all the way just to get the banana bread from here as it's no longer one of the best on the island (as in previous years). No more human interaction and it's an honor system now with camera. You take whatever and you can pay with cash, venmo and cashapp. $22 for a set of 2 loaves consist of mango and banana bread. If you ever had Julia's banana bread previously (as in before 2022) you know what I'm talking about.

Bread Silence I still love their Liliko'i butter and would eat it with a Goat, on a Boat that's floating in a Moat--but a recent transaction with their website has left a terrible taste in my mouth. Here's a timeline of events: 1) June 7th, 2023, I placed an order for $140 worth of items and paid for them via PayPal. For the record, I understand that they only ship on Mondays, so that would've been the 12th. 2) The 12th comes and goes, and no email stating that anything shipped. Again, yes, I read on their website that they don't always have enough stock, so there may be delays. Ok. Fair enough. 3) The next Monday (19th) comes, and no word; I then email them on the 20th and ask for a status report. Crickets. Then the following Monday (26th) comes and goes and still no word. 4) Monday, July 3rd, comes, and still no word. On the 4th, I emailed them and asked to cancel the order and please refund my money. More crickets. 5) July 5th, I finally filed a claim with PayPal. And then, finally, today, July 15th, they "resolved" the case and refunded me my money. While I did get made whole again, there's something disturbing about a business that gladly takes customer's money but refuses to provide any customer service. So, while I'll gladly buy their products next time I'm visiting Maui, I'll never do business with them via the web again.

    The amazing green shack.

A Maui landmark and they make some VERY delicious banana bread and an assortment of other delicacies including the passionfruit butter. So amazing. Whether you stop at the pop-up (and hang with Andre and see the mongoose show) or make your way all the way past the one-lane roads to the green shack and meet one of Julia's nieces, you'll be delighted. We went back 3 times in our 1 week in Maui... and brought some home much to the delight of the rest of the family (cooked goods can pass the Hawaii agricultural inspection). Love Julia's... it's truly the best.

Getting to this location is quite the drive - you have to go down a super windy and narrow road along a cliff and there is only room for one car at the end. If you do make it there, there is a small hit with no one working but there are some goods to buy and a Venmo code. The banana bread was quite exceptional and the passion fruit butter was also delicious! However, once we got to the airport we saw that they sold the same things there so no need to drive out to this hut.

I thought it was only me. I stopped by here to get some best banana bread but I should have read some review before purchasing. The banana bread was burnt, it tasted more like burnt banana bread. I had to to cut off all 4 sides of the bread just to eat the middle. I had better banana bread locally that's not burnt.

One of the mongoose came out, and Dre called them, and they ALL came out!

This review if for Julia's pop-up stand located on Hwy 30 at Mile Marker 38! On your way to Nakalele Blowhole, slow down as you approach Mile Marker 38, and you'll see a tent in the small parking area on your left side for Julia's Banana Bread. I didn't notice it on our way up, passed it on our way down, and I made my husband turn around! I'm so glad I did! Papa Dre was there to welcome us with so much aloha AND samples! He also had jokes and brought out his friends (the mongoose). Aside from all the fun, the banana bread was delicious, moist, and perfectly sweetened. We also picked up the dried mango and nut clusters. It was hot so we also got a couple lemonades, and our girls really loved the guava lemonade! Tip: Bring cash for the goodies!

It's a must when we come to Maui, Julia's banana bread is amazing.

Julias banana bread is a must when in Maui. The drive is stunning also. She sells other items that are amazing. Support this local business

    Sunken middle and raw inside.
    Esther L.

We were so excited to try this since it came highly recommended, but the banana bread we got today was raw in the middle. What wasn't raw tasted great, however. Just make sure the middle is risen when you buy yours, we just wanted to grab one and go and should have recognized the telltale slump in the middle of the loaf we purchased. The owners shouldn't be selling raw loaves though, anybody who bakes knows what an underbaked cake looks like! I think they knew they were raw and still sold them to us at a discount since each small loaf was $12.

The passion fruit butter is liquid crack. Pick up at least 5 containers of this.

I had the peach cobbler warmed up and a la mode, and it was delicious. Crumble toppings on pie are my absolute favorite, that buttery, crumbly goodness you wish would never end. Hubby had the key lime pie a la mode, and it was the perfect balance of creamy sweetness and tart, but not too tart. Both slices came with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream, which is the only way to do it. The service was friendly, too. The indoor seating was full, so we sat outside, which turned out to be lovely for people watching and enjoying the fresh air. If you have a sweet tooth and appreciate a proper slice of pie, Maui Pie is worth the trip. Highly recommend, and I'll see you there for more peach cobbler!

ONE OF THE BEST PIES I'VE EVER HAD…read more ** But terrible customer service ** This place would easily be a 5 star if they had more polite people working there. My mom politely asked if they had any sugar-free pies available. The girl at the register stated " you need to ask for those a day in advance". So my mom asked if she could place an order now to pick up one tomorrow. The girl then looked up from the register with an annoyed look on her face and said, verbatim, " does it look like I'm the head baker? I only work the register. You need to leave the store and call us to order". We all looked at each other shocked. That was the most rude response I've heard in a while... like we are supposed to know who specifically ask to order a sugar free pie ... ... just a wild situation for such a fun place with great tasting pies. The good: - blackberry mango was probably my favorite pie - peach cobbler a close second place - loved the mountain berry as well The bad: - the girl working the register - you want a sugar free pie? Make sure to NEVER ask in person. You have to call in. - And they only offer whole pies and not slices for sugar free pies The verdict: - minus 2 stars for the rude girl who yelled at my mom - minus 1 star for only having whole pies and not slices for sugar free pies, even though they only have 3 flavors to choose from... Such a shame to have people like that working at a place that serves such a good product.

Restaurant opened promptly at 10am, guest slowly made their way in took us about 15min to place our order. Food: Apple Handheld Pie - size was about 3-4" long and 2" wide. Crust was okay somewhat flaky and fairly tender. Bake was a light golden color could have been baked a touch more. Apples were nice and chunky with sweet cinnamon sugar filling, good filling to crust ratio. Pie was covered in a confections sugar glaze which made it a bit sticky to eat, felt unnecessary for a handheld pie, overall okay. Service was quick order at the counter and staff packs your order, we grabbed our to go. Interior had about 15-20 tables l, self serve water and utensil station if you wanted to dine in. Overall seems like a convenient stop midway to Lahaina if you are looking for a sweet treat, wouldn't wait too long or go out of your way to visit but worth a try if you are in the area.
