Served with 5 mozzarella sticks, but they were too good not to eat right away

Mozzarella sticks came out quick and piping hot. Very oddly shaped venue - very vertical - but even when you're in the back it feels close and intimate Best seats in house are next to sound/ behind floor, but not balcony (if seated event). Or pit and show up early. Balcony seats semi obstructed and weirdly high- but still feel close.

This is a venue that I would have to say surprises me every time I go back. I love that fact that it is intimate and the seating let's you have a great view of the stage no matter where you are in the venue. I have now seen collective soul and a Van Halen tribute band here and both times we had great views and great times. The other surprising thing is the cost of other stuff like beer or booze is a little less than other places I have seen that have shows in them around Boston or even Portland. Staff is super friendly and it was awesome.

We attended the Morgan Myles Mariah Carey Christmas Tribute last night and it was a blast! First we had dinner jb the Sports Bar. Food was delicious and staff just fantastic. Moving into the concert area, the staff made sure guests were safe by checking vaccination status or for negative tests. Our party included an elementary teacher and three nurses; this made us feel so much better given the rise in cases. Both Stephanie Ryann and Morgan Myles delivered a fun show and the energy was awesome!! Great way to celebrate the holidays

Wow Aura!!! I LOVED THIS VENUE! This is like a mini house of blues. We saw Big Head Todd and the Monsters and the opening band was Lionize. The sound was fantastic! (I do use ear filters - NOT plugs, but filters) It does get loud as you would expect, but the acoustics were great. The entrance is a pretty small area and you should expect to stand out on the sidewalk for a bit if you arrive just as the doors open or before. The reason for "slow" entry is a good thing, they have decent security - people and technology - similar to airport security, metal detectors and security personnel with wands. We noticed some people forgot they had pocket knives clipped to their belts, but I noticed the guards were prepared (must happen all the time). They keep the item with security and you just find the same person on the way out of the door and they hand you back your item. Easy Peasy. There are multiple levels in this venue and two big bars on the 2nd and 4th floors. There is an elevator for those that might need a lift ;) There is staff placed throughout the building that will help guide you on your way. They were pleasant and helpful. Keep in mind you will need to find parking on your own - just down the street we found a lot that had parking for Aura for $10 pre-paid. I enjoyed our experience so much here, that I am constantly looking at the artist listing to see who is playing. I can't wait to see another show at this venue.

I'll be the first to admit that I was less than amused to learn that the new venue wouldn't be called the Asylum and made up many things in my head to convince myself that this place would lose its "character" with the renovation...well folks, I was wrong. AURA is an AMAZING place to go to a show. It's THE BEST in Portland - you hear me?! Every detail that went into this place shines through. They left nothing out. There are three bars, plenty of bathrooms, stadium seats and high tops on the balcony, plenty of restrooms that are easy to access and a stage that was built to ensure no matter where you're sitting you'll have the best seat in the house. Of equal importance, sound quality is unreal. AURA was designed with every type of concert goer in mind whether you want to jam from your comfy leather seat, stay close to the bar or dance the night away in the pit. Bottom line? GO SEE YOURSELF!

I absolutely love Aura. Aura is an amazing, intimate venue for a variety of events. For concerts, there is not a bad seat in the place. With a balcony and the downstairs area, there are a variety of seating options, however, wherever you are, you are in for an intimate experience. Other than concerts, Aura hosts a variety of other events. I have been to Harvest on the Harbor and their New Years Eve party, both of which have been great because of the amazing venue. With four bars and friendly staff, it really is a great place for a variety of functions.

Remodel was nice but the bouncers are complete assholes. Took all my strength not to knock one of them out. Last time I attend this venue.

Slow, slow, slow. Took forever to get served, clearly understaffed. Plus I felt a little queasy all afternoon. Avoid at lunchtime.

    Ask the Community - Aura

Is there coat check for events?

Going to see Justin Hayward. R upper tier or balcony seats better?

The venue is small, so all seats are pretty good. I believe the upper tier is just above the floor level. Then the balcony. I saw B-52 from the standing room behind the balcony seats and it was great.

So for concert tonight- Get the Led Out- are there seats or just SRO?

I haven't been to a concert there yet, but I have been inside for other events and they have stadium seating on the upper levels.

    Is this venue wheelchair accessible?

    Yes.

Disclaimer: I came in at a off time for a late lunch/ early dinner at 2:45…read more The place was fairly dead maybe 7 people at the bar & one table eating in the back. It's open seating so we sat ourselves & one of the two waitresses came over to use fairly quickly. She had our drinks to the table fast but again there wasn't much traffic here. Before the food arrived she came back & told us she would be leaving because it's so slow & was transferring us to the other waitress. All was fine. When the food came out my wife's salad was without any dressing & my steak salad was overcooked. I ordered medium & it was well done. Pretty bland too, but bad choice on my end. Wife had to get up & find somebody to get dressing for her salad. We shared some Mac & cheese to try it & I wasn't a fan either it's bland as well even though it's "house made". Probably didn't order the best but still the best thing was the blueberry beer they make.

It has old school vibes when you step inside with plenty of exposed brick walls and art/decor on many of the walls too. As well as quite a few TVs like you'd expect most bars/pubs to have. It certainly has a vibe overall where I can understand those who live nearby would make it their go-to choice for a beer or a bite to eat by themselves or with friends or to catch a game on the TVs. The visits me and my wife have had including bringing out of state family to visit have been good service wise with minimal complaints but at times waits for food have been longer than expected even when restaurant was not busy. Could use some improvement but minimal. Food wise I have had a burger from them, their mac n cheese, as well as some other sandwiches. I would kind of classify the food in a similar way as the service. It is good but doesn't leave me wowed or thinking I need to return for the meal. It's solid for bar/pub food. If you set your expectations in that manner, I think you will leave quite pleased. A great spot to pop in from commercial street after a day of walking around for a cold drink and a bite to eat.
