I don't know what happened to this company. was a loyal customer for years. every six months I had maintenance. This Summer I call and for almost two months the voicemail box was full, emails not answered. i finally got through to a man and we scheduled an appt for the following week. called the day before to confirm and was told I was on the scheduled after my scheduled time past by a few hours, I called only to get a full vm again. I tried emailing and Jeannie called me to say I was not on the schedule! I paid for a year and never received my second service so I asked for a refund and was told by Jeannie they would process it. I have since had many emails with Jeannie who either says we'll look into it or completely ignores me. before taking the next step to get my refund I decided to email one last time only to have her say call Dominic. I don't think he gives refunds. This is the worst company to deal with. I give them less than zero in customer service skills. there are many reputable a/c places out there. sadly Aurora is no longer one of them. read more

Domenic and his crew at Aurora Air were amazing! They were so prompt, professional and kind. They changed out the air ducts in my attic and added two new vents in a room that previously had no AC. They gave me a fair and accurate quote and they stuck to it. They worked quietly, wore masks and cleaned up immaculately. Horrible experience. They are fraud. I have two a/c units (we have a big house): One unit was not working. The technician came and "fixed" the unit that was already working. Later Dominic called up and started to blackmail me. In his words "If you do not pay me $275, I will put a mechanic's lien on your house. You let me technician inside your house, now you have to pay". You know what the worse part is? Now the unit that was working is also not working. Stay away from them. read more

The came over and gave me an estimate, and told me how honest they are. They then called me with another estimate which I accepted. They completed the job and handed me a bill for twice the price. Dominic said he was busy but he'd fit us in. He was here when he said he was going to be and got right to the problem. I called Aurora about a leak in my AC unit and after describing the problem, instead of taking the opportunity to come out and charge me for a service call, the rep I spoke to was very honest and said that he really didn't think it was an air-conditioning problem. He was perfectly willing to come out and charge me money if I wanted, but his honest opinion was that it was something else, and him coming out would be a waste of my money and it turns out he was right. My usual service company was swamped and could not come out the same day. So I emailed Aurora Air via their website, provided the make, tonnage, seers, and handler height and followed It with a phone call. I've used Aurora Air twice now and have been very pleased both times. I use them because their prices are excellent, but the service is great as well. One job was HVAC cleaning and maintenance for a single family home, and the prices were lower than everyone else I contacted. The second job was a broken AC in the Spring and they were out promptly, fixed the AC and only charged me for the service call and a small replacement part vs. trying to sell me a whole new unit like I've run across with the larger companies. read more

Called at 12:30 and was told by the girl who answered my call that either she or the repairman would call back to let me know when they could come by to fix the air conditioning. ... 2 hours later I called her since I had not received a call from either of them and was told "Oh yeah... I felt really bad that I hadn't called you back." ...So then why didn't you call me?! I was told it would be just a little bit longer, she would give me a call back and they might be able to come out today. She had to get a hold of her manager. 1 hour later she called too say that they were short staffed and that someone would call back tomorrow to let me know if they could come by. Are you kidding me? Our Rheem Central AC quit on a Monday night and I wasn't so happy with the folks we'd been using so I turned to Yelp for advice. Sure enough, I saw everyone raving about this company Aurora and I'm usually pretty happy with my fellow-Yelpers recommendations so I called them at 8pm and spoke to someone. Apparently, when I changed the filter and pulled the breaker on the handler instead of walking to the thermostat (yes...I'm lazy), I may have fried the breaker. I talked to a VERY nice guy Mon night (after going to Home Depot for a portable for the bedroom so we could sleep) and he said they'd get someone out first a.m. True to their word, 9am on the nose the doorbell rings. The Tech was super nice and exceeded my expectations. Bottom line: These folks set the standard by which other AC Service providers should be measured. They're friendly, fast, easy to deal with and affordable with no BS - just good people. If you're looking for a company to partner with for your AC needs now or down the road, look no further. PS I know I sound like a paid spokesperson ;-) but truly I just believe in helping good businesses and warning people about the not-so-goods, so hope this helps you. read more

Just the WORST experience. They came to fix a leak, and after over $500 worth of checking, they recommended a new air handler (for another $1,500). Two months later, the leak continued. The owner (Dominic?) first claimed that it was I that asked for an air handler replacement that didn't fix the leak, then blamed a "one in a million" chance that a second leak developed. When I tried to get more information, he yelled at me for bashing them! At the end, they charged another $1,200 to complete the job that they should have done in the first place. What a nightmare! This is the type of companies that give South Florida service industry the bad name. Stay as far away from them as you can! read more

I chose Aurora Air Inc. based on Yelp reviews and I'm glad I did. The dispatcher worked with me to make an appointment that was convenient for my schedule. The tech, Dominic, called me to let me know that he was running a little behind, which I appreciated, instead of just arriving late without a call. Dominic was very professional and gave me clear answers to all of my questions. He didn't try to up-sell me on anything unnecessary, and walked me through all of the steps he was taking during the service call. Great service. Honest and knowledable technicians. Did the job quickly and efficiently. On top of ALL of that, they actually showed up between the window they advised. 12-2. Showed up at 12:30pm. Had a REALLY bad experience with other AC company (Airbulance) so was completely relieved when these guys showed up. When it comes to customer service the big guys usually miss the mark. My AC unit went out Friday night before Labor Day weekend. I knew it was going to be an issue getting someone out to the house ASAP on a holiday weekend. I am a tech in the service industry, so I know a bit more than the average homeowner about what the problem could be. I saw this company Aurora Air on yelp and read the reviews. Reviews are important to me, the good, bad and ugly can tell you a lot about a company. I called Aurora Saturday Am to try to get someone to come out. I spoke to Jose and he told me it was a really busy weekend, work wise, but he would call me back in a few mins to see if he could fit me in. he called back with the bad news that they were booked solid this weekend, which I expected on a holiday weekend. He advised me that someone could come first thing Monday morning. I told him I needed someone sooner, I have small children living in the house and it was becoming a bear keeping them sane in this heat. He advised me to set the appt for Monday morning and if someone else can come out before hand, call him back and he can take me off of the schedule. We set it for 9-10 am Monday morning. I'm glad I did, after 4 or 5 more calls it was plain as day that I wasn't getting anyone there that weekend. Monday morning I received a call from Jose, he advised me that a tech should arrive at my house by 9:10 am. Dominick shows up, and from step one I could tell this was going to be a pleasant experience. Very knowledgeable and professional. He advised me that the problem seemed to be 1 or 2 things, possibly both. I figured that's what it was, and he just confirmed my suspicion. He found the problem to be the fan motor and capacitor that was causing the problem. Let me stop here for a minute. I have had 3 major AC companies come out to my house for service, and all they wanted to do every time is rip out the old unit and put in a new one. Costing me thousands of dollars. Dominick quoted me a more then fair price for parts and labor, we agreed to it, and he completed the work. He also advised that over time I can fix a few things on my AC system that needed to be replaced. I should get more time out of the current unit with proper maintenance, He didn't force feed me anything. I felt very comfortable using this company. Fantastic company! I had my regular guys come out, as they usually did. And they got things "working"... well sort of. My compressor would regularly shut off and I could tell things were simply not configured quite right. I called several companies who all came out (each charging me service call fees) and assured me they could get it working correctly. Each a different story about why it wasn't working quite right, generally telling me to purchase something else (that wouldn't have fixed the issue). Dominic was not only competent, but friendly and happy to discuss what the issues were, what was being tried next, and why. He explained why we needed to buy something and didn't try to upsell me on unneeded items/service. José (the dispatcher) was always courteous and, between him and Dominic, made sure that scheduling was accurate and if they fell behind, they let me know well ahead of time. Long story short, not until Aurora came out, did I get the sense that someone was following up with the actual details and identifying what the actual problem was. (It turned out, there really was a misconfiguration with the wires on the circuit board, that the "regular" guys had incorrectly connected, and everyone since had missed it.) My system has worked as it should for the last several months. I can't recommend this company more highly! read more

Great company. Lost our air conditioning Saturday night. Was told he would be here at 8 on Sunday. Actually called to tell us he would be 15 minutes late. Although we didn't buy the unit from him he told us it was under a 10 year warranty and the part replacement is free. He could have just as easily got the part for free and charged us. My air conditioner went out late on a Friday evening...uuuggghhh! Called a couple of the big companies to no avail. I decided to go on Yelp and found the reviews for Aurora Air and called and left a message. They called me back almost immediately. Spoke with Dominick, the owner, and he was extremely kind and caring. He sent someone out first thing the next morning. I was informed when they were enroute and when they would be arriving. Who does that? Aurora! I was certain I needed a whole new unit, but was informed by the tech, Art, that it was a few minor adjustments and my system would be up and running. He was absolutely correct, not only saving me thousands of dollars, but giving me a great feeling by not getting "ripped off" by an unscrupulous company. Found air handler fan not running on return from Christmas. Aurora Air recommended by friend. Jose coordinated and communication was always good and cordial. Bernard initially came to troubleshoot, but problem required additional expertise, so Dominic came later in the day. Determined that fan motor module was defective. The part was found the next morning and installed. There was some difficulty in wiring thermostat due to complicated set up and Dominic needed to return for final wiring. He was very pleasant and easy to work with through out, showing great patience and perseverance in conquering the wiring issue. No attempt to up-sell. Very honest. Pricing seemed fair. read more

As a native Pennsylvanian I have become accustomed to contractors who live up to there word. In South Florida I haven't always found that to be the case. These guys are like my Pennsylvania contractors. They are the kind of air conditioner people you want working on your home. I have called more than once to have our old unit fixed up and they have been extreamly helpful each and every time. The owner and most techs provide excellent service. However, beware of a few bad techs and clerical errors. I've used them for a year in a new house with 10 year old AC. I decided to purchase a new one. The first issue occurred the morning of the install. The wrong pictures if the existing unit was attached to my account. They thought more work was required to pass inspection. All new installs require a permit. Anyways, that delayed my install 1 day. The owner was very nice about it and offered some extra things at no charge. I felt bad for him more than me for the delay. During the installation, the work was delayed due to constant calls by 1 incompetent tech. Anyways, I still feel the service is great when the correct tech arrives for the job. I have seen 4 different techs in previous jobs with no issues. I hope that the recent issues can be resolved because there is good employees at risk. read more

I used this company when my air went out based on the two reviews here on Yelp. They were great. My thermostat had blown so they installed a new one. Two days later, my air was broke again. Turned out, there was another problem that caused the thermostat to go out. It was Memorial Weekend and Dominique (the owner) offered to come up personally to take a look. Well, since it was a new thermostat, I thought maybe I was doing something wrong, and told him, "don't come, because it it is 'user error' I will feel horrible. He called me that night, the next morning and the next afternoon wanting to come and take a look at it. What a great company. They came back out, no charge, and fixed the problem. We just had a visit from Dominic to check why we had no heat. He is so professional. Took him only a few minutes to realize our thermostat was broken. He replaced it, and checked the heating elements while he had the unit apart. When he was done he cleaned up his mess. Then wrote out a bill while he was still here. This company is great. I had a service contract with Van's Comfortemp for many years and they kept trying to sell me a new A/C unit. This last time, they said the unit would not last through the summer. I called Aurora and had them come to give a second opinion. This company is amazing. I called at 9:00pm at night and Dominic answered the phone and offered to come out that night or in the morning. When he came he was very knowledgeable and honest and explained to us everything that was going on with the a/c. Previously another company had come out and recommended 3 new parts for $1200 and when Dominic came he said I did not need any of those parts and just needed a capacitor for $240. He repaired it, provided a warranty with the part and checked to make sure everything was working. Dominique was an outstanding professional! My a/c was not cooling as it should and being new to the area I looked up some names online and was hit by two of bigger names in the area. Both a/c companies tried to sell me new units without doing much work. On the contrary, Aurora Air sent the actual owner to look at my unit just in case it was complicated and to my surprise not only was he extremely professional and knowledgeable but, he found the problem in less than 5min. Their prices are really competitive and lower than some other companies nearby. I was most impressed the way Aurora Air as a whole did not try to scam me nor up-sell me any services. When I called to schedule an appointment my call was quickly answered even though it was early Sunday morning and the man who answered the phone was very nice. I used Yelp to find Aurora Air after another large company told me that I needed a $4500 ac unit. I wanted a second opinion and Dominic called me back right away. I did not tell him I had another estimate, but wanted to see what they said. He came out in two hours (it was 95 degrees and no ac!!). He thought it might be something simple and wanted his tech guy to double check him. The second guy came out late that day, replaced a $200 part and the unit worked fine. I showed him the quote from the first company then and he said their new unit would have been about $3500, which is what other people around my condo complex were paying. I was on vacation at my condo, had not brought a checkbook with me and wanted to pay with a cc. The gentlemen said no worries, just send a check when I got home. Who does that now these days. He didn't even want my cc number to hold onto when I offered. I trust a company who trusts me. The check was in the mail to them the day I got home. Being a recent relocater from NC to FL, we are well aware that air conditioners and the men/women who repair them are a valuble asset. Our first experience with an A/C repair company was less than desireable, so we checked out some other companys. We eventually settled on Aurora Air and we are glad we did. Our air went out at sometime in the morning while we were away, and didnt realize anything was wrong until we walked into an 80 degree, veryt humid house. Immediately, my fingers did some research on the internet and we decided on AA. I spoke with a gentleman on the phone named Winifred (?) and he was very helpful. He told me Dominick would be out that afternoon to assess the problem. Dominick was very nice and immediately diagnosed the problem. Unfortunately, he would have to get a new part and would be unable to fix the unit until tomorrow. To save costs, Dominick was willing to give me his AC license number so I could go to the local distributor to pick up the necessary part (this way, he wouldnt have to charge me for travel time to-and-from the distributor). Apparently, we were unable to do this so Dominick had to pick up the part. He was very nice and did great work. The price was very reasonable as well. It always sucks moving, especially 12 hours away, because you lose all of your valued contacts such as AC repair, auto mechanic, doctor, etc. I feel as though we have found our go-to AC guy and I am happy about that. read more
