Me and my boyfriend went here on Easter to grab wine. I didn't think they'd be open but saw there was no "We're closed on Easter" sign on the door, just a sign saying they're open from noon to 3. It was 11:30 so we decided it was worth it to be a half hour late to Easter dinner to be able to bring my families favorite wine. As we waited more and more people pulled up and waited with us under the impression they would be opening. Noon came and went with no one in sight. So not only were we late, but we showed up with no wine. This all could have been avoided had you taken 5 seconds to write a sign letting us all know you would be closed. Won't be returning here. Thanks for nothing. Try Reeds down the street, friendly atmosphere and will order things for you if they don't have it. They also put a sign on their door letting us know they were closed and didn't waste our time. read more

Best liquor store in town! Has a way better selection and better prices than the competition especially for wine. It's perfect for wine lovers. Honestly I think they have a wine connoisseur who makes these sections because they are so good. Many varieties and great prices. The negative reviews on here are all from before the store changed ownership and I have to say that has made a huge difference. I will always shop here for my liquor and wine needs and think you should too. If you had a bad experience before go back because I guarantee it was not under the current management with the current employees because they have always been great every time I've walked in. read more

The shortsightedness of some business owners astounds me. As a budding scotch connoisseur with newfound disposable income, I came to this store with three top-shelf scotches on my list. Ignoring the condescending tone of the owner when I had called earlier to check availability and price, I asked if he might be able to work with me on the approximately $250 order I had put together. I wasn't asking for much, and probably would've been happy if he had offered to knock even five dollars off the top. It wasn't about the price, it was about being acknowledged for supporting local brick and mortar businesses in an era when I could've had the same scotches delivered to my door in a few days' time without so much as having to put on pants. I know that East Aurora is a town with money, and in the grand scheme of things, $250 was not going to make or break their store, but the arrogance with which he flatly denied me resulted in me leaving with one bottle instead of three, and a determination to take my business where it will be appreciated. To my continued amazement, he left me with a parting shot, shrugging his shoulders and saying, "I'm sorry if you can't afford it." If they don't have it, just ask! Since the new ownership took over, the variety of stock has increased dramatically. It's fun to just look around and see what's new since my last visit. I also really love the mini bottles at the register that provide an opportunity to try a new flavor before committing to a larger bottle. Keep up the great work! read more

When I come home to visit family, this is usually the liquor store I stop at because it is located next to a grocery store, so it's convenient. On a recent visit, both employees were quite rude. I'm not sure if they were self-entitled owners or just miserable people, but either way, it will be the last time I shop there. Upon entering the store, the male employee swooped in and asked if I needed help. I politely declined because on a previous visit, he had made some awful recommendations. I began to look over the selection and look up reviews on my phone. I'm not a wine snob, but I want a wine that tastes good. While doing this, I noticed a woman checking out wines in close proximity to me. I just assumed she was another customer until I went to check out and she came sauntering over to the register. I feel like she had been watching me as if I were a ship-lifter. Without a salutation, she asks for my I.D. No problem, except I had forgotten my wallet in the car. I explain this to her and tell her I'll be right back. She gives me a smug look that says she doesn't believe me. I almost didn't go back in, but I wanted to prove that I was actually well over the legal drinking age. After I come back and hand her my license, she begins to inspect it and hold it at an angle. I assume that she can't find where the D.O.B. is because it's a Florida license. I tell her where to find it and she dryly replies that she saw it, she just needs to really look over out of state licenses. I should have pointed out that an underage person would probably be buying Boonesfarm, not a $20 bottle of Cab Sav. Or I should have asked her if she wanted to walk out into the parking lot and see my Florida license plate, but I was still trying to be polite. Once she was satisfied that I was of legal age, she took my money, bagged my wine, and just looked at me. No "have a good evening" or even handing of a receipt. It took everything in me not to say something and return the bottle of wine on the spot. What was even more annoying is that I just spent over $100 on wine a few days earlier for a dinner with friends. Granted, that day a very friendly and helpful woman had been working (hence the two stars and not one). I would recommend going somewhere else. Not only is the staff rude and pretentious, but some of their wines are overpriced. read more

The bourbon selection is great here and so is the wine. If you can't find what you want, Jill is happy to order it for you. Usually it comes in the next day! The store itself is clean and well-lit, staff is friendly and helpful and attentive. They have started stocking a great selection of local spirits as well, which is great since I love to support local businesses. Highly recommended when it comes to trying new things! read more

One star only because of one particular employee that works there. Unfortunate that one bad apple spoils the bunch. Today was my second bad experience with the same woman that has waited on me when I've gone in with my college-aged daughter. Our first experience with her was when I went in to buy a small bottle of wine, and when I approached the counter to pay, she immediately asked for my daughter's ID and not mine. Keep in mind, the purchase was for me, as she is underage and was not buying it or consuming it! So we let her know it was for me and she asked for her ID yet again. Then she accused her of browsing with me, and eventually dropped the idea of carding her, warning her not to "browse" the next time we came in, which she wasn't, she was just tagging along as we had just taken a walk in the village. The next encounter we had with the same woman, we were in for not even a minute to get one bottle of champagne for my Easter Sunday brunch, and again my daughter came with me because we were out grocery shopping beforehand. Sure enough when we get to the counter for me to pay, she asked for my daughter's ID and not mine. My daughter told her that it was not for her, and I re-enforced it. She didn't care, and just stood there with a dazed, emotionless expression on her face. I voiced to her that she had done this one other time and that it was ridiculous because I was the one buying and consuming, not my daughter, and that other women come in with their young children and purchase without embarrassment. I will not be returning, and told her that she has lost a customer, and she seemed to show no remorse. We have had no problems with the other staff that work there, they are always friendly and very helpful. She is the only one that makes me feel like I'm committing a crime every time I go in there. She is short and squatty with long brown hair and was working on 03/30/18 at 12PM, in case the owner would like to address the situation. read more
